QT: Grace To Grass Counterattack System-Chapter 205 Little Mandron Soldier 28
In the end, Yang Zhi compromised with a wave. "Let's give it a few days first." Yang Liu looked reluctant and was ready to speak up but he shook his head at her. "You may leave."
After a moment of hesitation, Yang Liu walked out of the study with a crestfallen look on her face.
For the next two days, the entire Plexar Federation focused keenly on the Ding family, hoping to receive a report from them on what exactly happened to their beloved General but no such thing happened.
On the other hand, various Marshals and top army officials had been spotted entering and leaving the Ding estate but still, nothing was being said which made the speculations run even wilder.
The news of the Yang family naturally fell completely in the ranks and the reporters surrounding the Yang mansion reduced drastically as they were all focused on scouting the Ding estate.
A few anonymous articles were already beginning to pop up about Ding Weimin being dead. A particularly absurd article even went on to speculate that the Twelve-army Coalition was in the middle of creating a clone in order to hide Ding Weimin's death. For what reason? No one could guess.
While all this was happening, Jin Yusheng was seated in the living room of the Jin estate, watching disinterestedly as his sister and grandfather discussed Ding Weimin's current state.
"Just wait a few more days, if things doesn't improve then you can just forget about the young General." The Second Marshal was saying with an inconvenienced frown etched upon his features.
Jin Qi nodded in return. "I would do as grandfather has said."
Jin Yusheng scoffed in mockery. "Didn't you always claim to deeply love Ding Weimin? What happened to that love now?"
Both Jin Qi and the Second Marshal turned to pin the man with a glare.
"Don't start." The Second Marshal said before turning his attention back to his granddaughter. "We should go again to the Ding family to observe things. If Ding Weimin's condition remains the same then you could discreetly inform the media of the fact that the Ding boy had been involved with that mandron. I'll look for a way to break the engagement from there."
Jin Qi smiled lightly and then sighed in annoyance. She was glad that she wouldn't have to get involved with Ding Weimin and risk her life but she still felt a little unhappy. Ding Weimin had been such a good catch. The very best of the bunch. Finding another person as good would be so difficult.
She watched as her grandfather stood up to leave. Her eyes quickly darted to her elder brother before she grit her teeth and said, "Grandfather... How about the secret that they seem to be hiding about Yang Xue?"
The Second Marshal paused and looked back at his granddaughter with a raised a brow. "What does that have to do with us?"
Jin folded her arms across her chest. "Why would the Dings suddenly need Yang Xue now, of all times? I have a feeling that there is more to what we were told back then.
-Also, it's been two days and he still hasn't shown up yet the Dings aren't looking for a different person. Who knows what he could be hiding that is so important to the Dings?"
Jin Yusheng looked from his grandfather's contemplative look to his sister's calculative look. A cold smile formed on his lips as he said, "You seem awfully fixated on the young mandron's business."
Jin Qi grit her teeth. "He had been involved in a questionable relationship with my fiance. Of course I'm interested in his business."
Jin Yusheng laughed with an eye roll. "Questionable relationship with your fiance? Whatever had been going on with Ding Weimin and that mandron had happened before you came into the picture. Quit walking around with your strong sense of entitlement, acting like the mandron had gone in between you and Ding Weimin."
The Second Marshal eyed his grandson sternly. "Whatever had been going on between the Ding boy and that mandron had been debauched and unreasonable. Jin Qi had done the right thing by opening the Ding boy's eyes!"
"Whether his eyes were closed then or at the moment he decided to get involved with Jin Qi..." Jin Yusheng toyed with his neck tie as he continued, "...Who can really tell?."
Jin Qi eyes flashed dangerously. "What is that supposed to mean? Why are you suddenly focused on whatever Ding Weimin had with Yang Xue? Careful brother.." Her eyes narrowed. "...So you don't send out the wrong message."
Jin Yusheng stiffened slightly when his mind fed him with unwanted images from three nights ago.
The Second Marshal, on the other hand, gave Jin Qi a warning glance. "A'Qi..." He supported his granddaughter everywhere but not when she joked around like that.
Jin Qi reigned in her expression at her grandfather's warning but Jin Yusheng calmly stood up. "Whatever message others perceive is on them. If I should decide on something, tell me..." He turned to his grandfather with a challenging look. "Who can stop me?"
Jin Qi's eyes widened slightly whilst the Second Marshal's face hardened. "Let's hope, for your sake, that you don't do something so stupid just because your attention seeking self always has something to prove!"
Jin Yusheng scoffed. "At least I'm at peace with myself and not scheming my way around the Plexar Federation for power."
The Second Marshal's eyes blazed. "Yusheng! If you weren't so useless then we wouldn't have to do this and your younger sister wouldn't have to work so hard in the army in order to uphold the glory of the Jin family!"
He slowly walked until he was standing face to face with his grandson. "You're mates with Ding Weimin and look how well he'd done for himself up until he got infected. You're also a man but instead of taking responsibility, you chose to run around doing business with your tail in between your legs. Tell me, how are you the son of a military family?!"
Jin Yusheng's chest slowly heaved in rage. "Your blind fixation on military power is what set my parents up for death in the first place! Look around you, it's just us three left! What glory is there to uphold?! Who exactly are you gathering power for?!"
The Second Marshal froze with wide eyes.
Without waiting for the old man to explode, Jin Yusheng picked up his suit jacket and directly walked out.
When he got into his expensive hover car, he contacted his assistant. "Cancel all my meetings for today." And to his driver he said, "To Zephyr Coven."
Zephyr Coven was the name of a classy hotel in the Middle class region. Going to a top class hotel in the Elite region would've been ideal but he really didn't want to run into any of his aquaintances at the moment.
As the hover car began to move, Jin Yusheng tilted his head in contemplation before lifting his bracelet once more and sending a brief message to someone.
[[ Zephyr Coven. Be there in thirty.]]
As soon as the hover car arrived at the hotel, Jin Yusheng went straight to the presidential suite at the very top of the hotel.
In there, he met a breathtaking andronian lady wearing a sheer silk robe and holding a glass of wine. The woman smiled at him seductively. "President Jin~"
Jin Yusheng simply nodded at her and began taking off his clothes. He really wasn't in the mood to talk, he needed to vent.
An hour later, the completely spent andronian woman watched with half lidded eyes as an immaculately dressed Jin Yusheng walked out of the bathroom. She hungrily admired him for a while more before saying in a seductive drawl, "You seem awfully busy lately. Imagine my shock when you contacted me. When do I get to see you again?"
Jin Yusheng merely shrugged before throwing an expensive black card on the bedside drawer and walking out of the room. As he stepped into the elevator, he took out an automated cigarette from his suit jacket and began smoking.
"Shit," He quitely muttered under his breath. Polly, the andronian woman, was one of his most skilled lays and yet he'd spent over forty-five minutes trying to get satisfaction from her but to no avail.
Instead his mind kept playing tricks on him and superimposing her face with someone else's. A much more manly face.
Two days ago, he'd gotten every detail about how he'd ended up in that state with another man and he was not happy at all.
The medical examination had found traces of the AO6 .H.A drug in his blood and merely looking at the fact that the other Yang girl had tried to drug Ding Weimin with the same drug, he didn't need a third party to know that he'd been drugged by Yang Xiang.
He'd noticed her hovering around his table that night but had dismissed it to be one of her usual attention seeking antics. Who knew she would successfully drug his wine when he wasn't paying attention?
Jin Yusheng took a long drag of his automated cigarette when the elevator opened up to reveal the bar. He would of course deal with Yang Xiang. He just hadn't had the time to pay any attention on her as he was too busy trying to figure out Yang Teng's part in all of this.
From what his assistant had gathered that morning, the young man was the only human son of Yang Zhi. Exactly the same age as the mandron, Yang Xue. That wouldn't be much of a problem if not for the fact that Yang Zhi's wife had still been alive then and he'd even gone on to have another child, Yang Liqin, with her before she died.
It baffled him that none of Yang Zhi's children saw how horrible that was and instead treated the mandron with disgust and in Yang Teng's case, pure indifference.
Jin Yusheng was headed right for the VIP section when he casually looked over to the general bar area and froze. Speak of the devil... Yang Teng was seated on a barstool, cradling a shot glass in his hands with a faraway look in his eyes.
Jin Yusheng's eyes went from Yang Teng's messily styled hair to his casually put together outfit and eye bags underneath his eyes. The full report his assistant had provided him flashed before his eyes.
The young man was utterly and absolutely mediocre. A lackluster soldier that had gotten to where he was by depending on his father's connections and the Ding family's favour.
Worse, the man had no real ambition or passion whatsoever. All he did was go along with whatever was placed before him by his father, no questions asked.
Yang Teng was everything Jin Yusheng naturally sneered at and yet...
"Shit," Jin Yusheng muttered under his breath once more as he took another long drag of his cigarette and walked over to the general bar.
