Ragnarok: Alpha and Omega-Chapter 33 - 32: Too Easy… Or Is It?
Chapter 33 - 32: Too Easy... Or Is It?
Jason aimed and fired at the weak points, and the Rock Ants dropped instantly.
"You've got to be kidding me," Jason muttered. "After all that size and intimidation... just one shot and they're dead?"
Ren chuckled. Yeah, Common-rank monsters aren't that strong for Rankers. But for regular people, they're a real threat. Still, don't get careless—they rely on numbers to overwhelm their enemies.
I didn't need any more encouragement. Dashing forward, I weaved between the creatures, slicing through them with ease. Their rock-like exoskeletons were no match for a well-placed strike. Even when one managed to leap at me, I simply punched it mid-air, shattering it on impact.
Jena scoffed. So, let me get this straight—you dragged me to this dungeon for this? I wouldn't even keep one of these things as a pet, let alone a contract monster. I'm sure even I could kill one!"
As if to prove her point, she stepped forward and spotted a Rock Ant trying to escape. Determined, she chased after it—but she failed to notice the thick layer of green blood coating the floor.
THUMP!
She slipped and crashed onto the ground, covered in the gross, sticky blood of the fallen ants.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then Jason and I burst into laughter. Even Ren was struggling to keep a straight face.
Jena groaned in disgust. "This is the worst!"
But for some reason, I found myself smiling. There was something... nice about this moment. Life had been going great lately. We had a car, a massive mansion, and even a good guild leader. Everything felt too perfect.
"Is this the calm before the storm?" The thought crept into my mind, but I shook it off.
Jena had had enough and decided to return to the car to clean herself off, muttering about how weak the dungeon monsters were.
Meanwhile, Ren turned to us.
"Since no one else is coming here, you two will handle closing this dungeon."
Jason and I exchanged excited looks. We had never seen a dungeon close before.
We pressed forward, encountering more monsters along the way—but just like before, they fell effortlessly.
As we pushed forward, a swarm of giant flying bees suddenly burst out from the tunnels ahead.
Ren immediately raised a hand. "Watch out! Their stingers are poisonous. If you get stung, things could get bad—fast."
I grinned, rolling my shoulders. "Finally, a change of pace. We've been fighting nothing but ants—Rock Ants, Giant Ants—I handled them all without even breaking a sweat. At least these bees might be a real challenge."
The buzzing grew deafening as they swarmed toward us. I braced myself to fight, but—
THUD. THUD. THUD.
Before I could even move...
Bodies dropped mid-air, lifeless before they even reached us. Jason lowered his pistols with a casual smirk.
The entire swarm dropped to the ground, dead.
I blinked. "Huh?"
Jason casually spun his pistols, blowing imaginary smoke from the barrels. "All clear."
I turned to him, genuinely offended. "Hey! Would you at least leave some for me?"
Jason shrugged. "My bad. But they were basically moving target practice, so I got curious to see if I could land all headshots."
I sighed, rubbing my temples. "You do realize this isn't a video game, right?"
Jason smirked. "Tell that to my accuracy."
I just shook my head.
We finally made it to the boss room, and the sight before us was... disgusting.
A massive giant earthworm squirmed in the center, its slimy, segmented body glistening under the dim dungeon light.

I dashed forward, ready to take the first strike before Jason could start shooting—but I skidded to a stop. It was slimy. Really slimy. The thought of my blades sinking into that gross, wriggling flesh made my stomach turn.
"Yeah, nope. You can handle this one," I muttered, stepping back.
Jason aimed his pistols, but before he could fire—
SPLAT!
A thick glob of green slime shot from the worm's mouth, sizzling as it splattered against the stone floor.
I barely dodged, and when I glanced at the spot where it landed, the stone was melting.
"Acid," I muttered. "Great."
Then—Puuup! Puuup! Puuup!
Three more globs shot toward us—one at me, one at Jason, and one at Ren. Jason and I dodged, rolling to the side. Ren didn't even flinch.
Jason immediately fired a few shots at the worm's body—but instead of piercing through, the bullets just sank into its slimy flesh.
"Absorbed?" I frowned. "Okay, so no bullets. Maybe slashes will work."
I rushed in, leaping high into the air, and swung my dagger down with full force—
BOOM!
The worm lashed out with shocking speed, slamming me mid-air and sending me crashing into the dungeon wall.
"Ow..." I groaned, peeling myself off the stone. The hit wasn't that painful, but the landing? Yeah, that hurt.
Ren chuckled, crossing his arms. "Fire will do the trick. But if I keep telling you the weaknesses, you won't grow. Figure it out."
Jason rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck. "Fire, huh? Alright then."
He activated his Creation Power, a faint glow surrounding his hands as he materialized something new—
A plasma gun.
He gave it a single tap—
BOOM!
A massive burst of energy shot from the barrel, striking the worm dead center.
Its body convulsed violently before melting into a steaming puddle of goo.
Jason twirled the gun and smirked. "Well, that was easy."
I sat up, rubbing my sore back. "You could've waited before nuking it, you know."
Jason shrugged. "Nah. You hesitated first. That was my cue."
I sighed, shaking my head. "Remind me to blast you with acid next time."
Ren chuckled. "Not bad. But next time, don't wait for me to spell things out for you."
