Raised From The Wild-Chapter 371: Biological Weapon
"The photos were published by Skylar Entertainment, a company owned by the influential Skylar family in Usturia." Princess Amaya’s disbelief was evident as she read a post on her social media. She cast a glance at General Jones, her expression conveying her astonishment.
"It might be possible that their system was hacked. Skylar Entertainment is a pretty new company prepared by Frederick Skylar as a dowry to Stacey Skylar, who recently married the eldest son of Governor Chase. Marx was supposed to be engaged to Fiona, but he broke off the engagement and stayed in Lireya." General Jones paused and studied Princess Amaya’s reaction, but she remained indifferent.
"Fiona did not agree to get engaged to Stephen, Stacey’s twin brother. Later on, Stacey hit it off with Finley, Fiona’s elder brother and they got married six months ago." General Jones completed his narrative.
"Why do you think the company could have been hacked?" Leon inquired, his expression unreadable, yet a tumult swirled within his deep, intense eyes.
"I have a strong understanding of Hendrix Skylar’s character, and I have full confidence in him. While Fredrick can sometimes be impulsive, I am certain of his loyalty to the Usturian government."
"Who manages Skylar Entertainment?" Princess Amaya asked. The wheel in her brain started turning. If it was being managed by Fredrick’s daughter and her husband, then it had nothing to do with Fredrick or Hendrix. Princess Amaya did not understand why General Jones would not doubt that Skylar Entertainment had intentionally leaked the photos.
"The CEO is Finley Chase, and the Vice President is Stacey Skylar," Leon answered Princess Amaya. A crease appeared on his forehead.
"Oh no! Princess, the hostage-takers, has given hints on the identity of the hostages that were killed. The netizens guessed that it was you and the crown prince of Albanya. The internet is in an uproar, and Albanya and Lireya are in chaos." Vasquez interjected in a hurried voice.
"Don’t worry; someone had already advised the King of Albanya and the King of Lireya that it was fake news," General Jones said calmly.
None of the people in the van suggested to announce that the news was fake. They were all smart people. They knew the implications of such actions.
"We cannot divulge the information on the internet so as not to alert the terrorists." General Jones voiced everyone’s sentiment.
"The netizens are cursing the Uropan government and the defense minister. They said that the defense minister is useless. The unprecendent hostage-taking incident happened during his daughter’s engagement party." ExZee’s cute voice was heard once again. She summarized the information she gathered on the internet and reported it.
"The defense minister just had a press conference and apologized to the public for what happened. He said that he was caught off guard, and even his daughter and future son-in-law were also held captive in the hotel." ExZee continued.
"Were they not able to escape? I saw them being escorted to the emergency exit during the chaos." Princess Amaya said. Somehow, she was worried about Charles Gray.
General Jones was silent. He was tapping the armrest of his seat while thinking deeply.
Leon and Vasquez were busy with their phones. They did not give a damn about the Charles Gray and his fiancee. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"The defense minister said that he will resign his post." ExZee broke the silence with her childlike voice.
Leon frowned. He sensed that something was wrong.
"Why would the defense minister resign at this critical time?" he asked General Jones.
"Perhaps because the situation felt like a slap in the face for him. The president, though, did not accept his resignation." General Jones said while swiping on his tablet.
"One of a high ranking official from Chaneya paid the ransom, and his daughter was released, but her guards were left behind." General Jones gritted his teeth.
"That was very fast," Princess Amaya commented while checking her cellphone for news about the hostage’s release.
Leon wanted to say something, but he was distracted when the van entered an underground parking lot and was dropped at the elevators’ entryway.
Princess Amaya looked around but could not find any identifier about the building. It did not have a name or a logo in the entryway.
"Were are we, General Jones?" Princess Amaya asked, still looking around.
"We are at Nower," General Jones replied casually. He stood at the front of the elevator without pressing any buttons.
"Huh, Nowhere? What do you mean, General?" Princess Amaya was dumbfounded. She felt that her brain was not working.
General Jones smiled meaningfully. The Alliance master who named the building was a crazy genius. Even he was speechless the first time he heard the name of the building.
"Yes, this place is called Nower. Spelled N-O-W-E-R." The general chuckled as he spelled.
Princess Amaya just scratched her head. Who in his right mind would name a building that sounds like it was nowhere?
After a few minutes, the van carrying Prince Raquim arrived, and General Jones pressed the button with the arrow pointing downwards.
"Where are we, Princess?" Prince Raquim asked hoarsely. His throat was itchy, and he started to feel unwell.
"We are at Nower." Princess Amaya answered with a sly smile.
Prince Rquim: "???"
The princess laughed at the prince’s facial expression. He looked bewildered and thought that Amaya was making fun of him.
"We are indeed in a building called Nower, spelled as N-O-W-E-R," she said, then gave out a hearty laugh.
Prince Raquim stole a glance at her. He had a complicated look on his face. He thought the princess looked cute when she laughed heartily, and his heart skipped a beat. Leon noticed the look in his eyes, and he shamelessly stepped in between them.
The crown prince of Albanya glared at Leon.
"Excuse me. Can you step aside? I am talking to the princess." Raquim said angrily.
"Ow, sorry. I am waiting for the elevator to open. Besides, you should wear a mask. You look sick and should not loiter around the princess." Leon handed him a face mask.
Prince Raquim did not want to wear it but he suddenly coughed and was forced to wear the facial mask.
The elevator door opened.
Before they could step inside, an anxious voice from inside the elevator was heard.
"Warning! One of General Jones’ guests is identified as a carrier of an unidentified virus," an anxious voice said from inside the elevator.
