Raised From The Wild-Chapter 383: Be My Crown Princess
The next day, a shipment arrived at the Nower Research Institute from Lireya. Concurrently, chemists and pharmacists at the Skylar Pharmaceuticals laboratory also received a similar shipment.
Dave and his highly skilled legal team demonstrated exceptional efficiency and professionalism in successfully negotiating a contract with two prominent figures in the pharmaceutical industry in a record breaking time of less than one day.
Doctor Wallace carefully cradled a small potted plant in a clear plastic container that came with the shipment. The plant stood at a mere 10 centimeters in height and had vibrant green leaves that resembled stars.
Doctor Wallace stood in wonder as he examined the intricate leaf structure of the milagrosa plant, a species that could only be found on the remote and mysterious and lost island of Miraga.
"So this is the miraculous plant that could save the lives of thousands across the continent."
Princess Amaya nodded gracefully, her regal demeanor lending an air of solemn approval to the conversation.
"You said that this thrives well in the crater of an instinct volcano. It must like such fertile soil." Doctor Wallace looked up to Amaya to get her confirmation.
The Princess, feeling too lazy to respond, simply nodded once more in acknowledgment of his words.
After excusing herself, she went to see Prince Raquim. Despite not wearing protective gear, she made sure to keep her face mask and face shield on.
Vasquez silently trailed behind her, while Leon hesitated and appeared unwilling to follow. He wanted to prevent Princess Amaya from leaving but did nothing in the end.
When the nurse opened the door to Prince Raquim’s ward, Princess Amaya was taken aback by the considerable weight loss that the Crown Prince of Albanya had undergone since falling ill with the virus. His visage appeared tight, with sunken eyes that lacked their usual luster.
"Princess, you really shouldn’t be here. I don’t want you to see me in this state," Prince Raquim said, his voice tinged with embarrassment. He swiftly reached for a mask resting in the drawer on the nearby side table, concealing most of his features for both privacy and safety.
As she drew nearer to the bed, his eyes traveled up from her head to her toes, carefully examining every aspect of her appearance with focused scrutiny.
Leon narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists.
"And why should I visit you? You’re my friend, and I’ve been meaning to come by since yesterday, but we were delayed in General Jones’s ward," Princess Amaya mentioned casually as she brought over a stool, placed it next to the bed, and seated herself with effortless grace, her back held straight.
Prince Raquim’s eyes sparkled, crinkling at the edges, a clear indication that he was smiling behind his mask.
He could still vividly recall the moment he first laid eyes on the Princess before her eighteenth birthday. At that time, she lacked the grace and elegance that she later became known for. Her demeanor was far from that of a Princess.
Looking at her now, he could tell how much her demeanor had changed. One could no longer see a trace of a young, unruly lady who grew up in the wilderness and stayed there for more than fifteen years.
The Crown Prince looked at Princess Amaya with adoration. His brush with death made him realize how fragile life was, and he wanted to have someone to share it and cherish it.
"I am glad that you were not infected. Doctor Wallace told me that your blood was used to cure me. I owe you my life, Princess. I have now your blood flowing in my vein." Raquim said half-laughing.
"Then, how do you intend to thank me? You should treat me to a meal when I visit my godson next month."
"Well, if you want, I can make you my Crown Princess and pay you with my body." Prince Raquim joked lightly.
The room suddenly felt colder. Leon threw daggers at Prince Raquim. Princess Amaya laughed.
"What a joker you are Crown Prince. You always made me laugh."
Prince Raquim’s eyes dimmed. He pursed his lips behind the mask.
’I am not joking, Princess. I have never been serious in my life. I really want you to be my Crown Princes and later be the queen.’ Prince Raquim uttered in his heart.
"When do you plan to go back to Albanya? Your parents must be pretty worried." Princess Amaya tried to change the topic.
Princes Raquim looked disappointed. "The doctor said that it is not safe for me to travel yet. They still could not determine if I was still infectious. Though I am feeling well already, they said it is better to recuperate here in a controlled environment."
’I still want to spend some more time with you, Princess. How I wish I had the courage to ask you to stay here and take care of me.’
"You must really be bored. Staying here doing nothing." Princess Amaya seemed to empathize with him.
"Well, if you want, you can keep me company. We can play board games or online games." The Crown Prince gazed at Princess Amaya expectantly.
"The Princess will not have any time as she will be helping the researchers and the scientists working on a vaccine for the Octa Virus." Leon interjected.
Prince Raquim glared at him. ’Why does he look like he was a jealous boyfriend laying his claim on the Princes?’
"You..." the prince was speechless.
"Leon is right, Raquim. I will really busy but I can accompany in one round of chess ot an online game.
Prince Raquim hummed. He looked down to hide the emotions swirling in his eyes. When he looked up again, his eyes returned to normal.
"By the way, Princess thank you for the immune booster. The doctors were able to cure me in time. If you are not here, I might have died already.
"Well, you can treat me to an additional meal when I come to Albanya."
"Sure," the young prince agreed without hesitation.
