Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 42: Could you please change the channel?
Chapter 42 - 42: Could you please change the channel?
Lily Turner didn't have to wait very long. She saw Henry Thompson straighten up before speaking naturally, but what he said almost made her spit blood in front of the TV.
"Everyone only guessed half right. I withdrew my investment indeed because of Lily, but not because she ran away from the engagement, rather because she misunderstood me. She's even so angry now that she's breaking off the engagement. I'm doing this just to force her to take back this decision that broke my heart." To match his words, Henry Thompson put on a sorrowful expression.
Watching Henry Thompson spout nonsense on TV, Lily Turner felt nothing but anger and sadness. How had she not noticed before that he was such a person, not only distorting truths but also telling lies without end?
Now, he's even shamelessly running on TV to put on a show. He really won't stop until he reaches his limit.
After hearing what Henry Thompson said on TV just now, Easton Holmes finally understood why Lily Turner was in such a hurry to cash out the house with him.
It turned out it was because her fiancé withdrew the investment, but what he didn't understand was that even if her fiancé withdrew the investment, as an actress, she shouldn't be the one worrying about the film's funding.
"So that's how it is, causing everyone to misunderstand and worry for nothing." The host paused for a moment before continuing, "Mr. Thompson! Can you disclose what Lily Turner misunderstood about you?"
After asking, the host smiled politely.
"Let's keep that a secret. I don't want to end up kneeling on a keyboard when I get home." The sorrowful expression that was just on Henry Thompson's face vanished in an instant, replaced by a sunny, bright smile, as if kneeling on a keyboard was something joyful for him.
While Henry Thompson was beaming on TV, Lily Turner was shaking with anger. This man was so good at acting; it's a pity he doesn't do it professionally.
Today's excellent performance by him might have overshadowed many seasoned actors with superb acting skills.
The host was unaware of the actual situation. Seeing Henry Thompson's bright smile, she didn't doubt his words at all, and chuckled along, "It seems our Goddess Lily holds a very high position at home."
"Of course, at home, she's not a goddess, but a queen."
Continuing his nonsense on TV, Henry Thompson was too much for Lily Turner to bear, and she couldn't listen any longer. She withdrew her gaze from the TV and turned to Easton Holmes, who was sitting next to her, "Mr. Holmes! Could you kindly change the channel?"
She was worried that if the channel wasn't changed, she wouldn't be able to resist rushing to smash the TV. If she were at her own house right now, she wouldn't have to restrain herself so much and would've smashed the TV already.
"Sure."
Easton Holmes responded promptly, picking up the remote control to change the channel as if he'd been waiting for her to ask, "What program would you like to watch?"
As he was changing the TV channels with the remote, he turned his head to ask her.
"Anything!"
Lily Turner had no mood to watch TV now. Her heart was in chaos, filled with anger, sadness, and frustration, but she didn't know who to vent to.
Ding dong!
At this moment, the doorbell suddenly rang.
"The doctor is here, I'll go get the door."
Easton Holmes casually tossed the remote onto the sofa and got up to open the door.
Lily Turner took a deep breath, trying to calm her chaotic emotions, preparing to meet the doctor who came specifically to check her foot.
