Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 61: Because It’s Not Worth It
Chapter 61 - 61: Because It's Not Worth It
At this moment, with Lily Turner showing up here, both Henry Thompson and Jenny York unanimously thought she was here to cause trouble. They even thought she had sneaked in behind their backs to sabotage the place. While they were angry, they also felt lucky for encountering her at the elevator door as she came to make trouble.
While they might not figure out Lily Turner's thoughts right away, Jenny York's pointed words were as clear as day to her. She sneered, "Jenny York! Thanks for your concern, but I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you. I wouldn't do anything drastic for the two of you because it's NOT! WORTH! IT!"
She emphasized the words "not worth it" one by one. She used to pour her heart out to them, but this was how they treated her. She was very angry and sad, but not to the point where she'd lose her mind.
"Lily! What are you talking about? What disappointment? Don't misunderstand me, I'm just worried about you." Things didn't go as she anticipated, and Jenny York felt a bit surprised and unwilling. It seemed she had to try harder.
Just worried about her!
Jenny York used to say things like this to Lily Turner often, making her feel touched and warm. But hearing these words now felt so ironic and laughable to her.
Lily Turner didn't speak nor did she waste her energy struggling any further. She just watched Jenny York perform her act of concern silently, wanting to see how long Jenny York could keep up the charade and to what extent.
This was not what Jenny York wanted to see, nor was it the outcome she desired. She wanted Lily Turner to get so angry that she'd make a scene with her, causing others to gather and watch, thereby overturning Lily's goddess-like image.
If that happened, she would no longer be a goddess, but an outright hysterical woman. She wanted to see if men would still pamper and protect her like she was a treasure.
"Lily! I understand you; you always keep everything bottled up, and that can make you sick easily. You just recovered from an illness; I don't want you to make yourself sick again." Jenny York pinched Lily Turner's arm forcefully out of spite. "Don't bottle the anger up inside, I'd rather you unleash it on me. That would make me feel better."
The pain on her arm made Lily Turner frown. She lifted her hand to pry off the hand secretly acting against her, but suddenly thought of something and put her hand down again.
"Jenny York! You don't understand me, just like I don't really understand you. I only get angry at people related to me; I absolutely won't for those who are irrelevant." She felt a storm of anger towards this former good friend, but outwardly she appeared exceptionally calm. She was grateful to be an actress, as it was her first time acting in real life.
"So! Please let me go. I won't act out in the way you hope to see. I'm here to see a friend, not to cause trouble for the two of you." Lily Turner said a lot in one breath; she believed she made herself clear, but how much the two beside her understood, she wasn't sure.
