Chapter 328: Ascension
"Hmm..." Rael stared at his findings before letting out a sigh.

It was even more expensive than he expected, but if that meant he could Ascend peacefully, then so be it.
He raised his trembling finger and pressed on the question marks.
A moment later, a flood of information appeared in the form of pop-ups.
<Ding!>
<You’ve gained partial access to undisclosed information.>
<The Beast, Zarkul: Grade 9 Mythic Class existence. The second being to walk the Depths. One of the two founders of the Depths. 11th strongest being in all of the universes. Represents the Law of Death. Known titles: The Mortal Who Had Slain A God (Primordial)>
<Hollow King, Kareth: Grade 8 Tyrant Class existence. The first being to create a Hollow Puppet God army. One of the Overseers of the Depths. Represents the Law of Control. Known titles: The Man Who Impregnated a Goddess (Divine)>
<Ancient Mindweaver, Evelyn: Grade 10 Vice-General Class existence. The first Mindweaver in existence. One of the Overseers of the Depths. The leader of the Midnight Rose faction. Represents the Law of the Mind. Known titles: Manipulator (Omniversal)>
Rael’s eyes widened at the descriptions of the beings, especially Kareth’s.
Impregnated a goddess? Fucking hell, Kareth, look at you go. Rael whistled.
As for Solenne’s information, it was taking a bit too long to load.
But that was when space in front of him cracked, and instead of anything appearing, he saw a pair of eyes in the shadows.
The eyes approached closer as a thin black arm reached for the pop-up that was loading Solenne’s information.
Rael felt an immense pressure, but almost as if by instinct, he swatted the black hand away.
Immediately, it felt as if a jolt had shot through his body as the shadowy black receded back into the spatial crack, then closed in an instant.
That was when a faint pulse spread through his body, and what followed was a single pop-up.
<You have resisted the Shadow of Solenne.>
<Ding!>
<Your rewards have been tallied.>
<Survive an encounter against a Grade 9 being.>
<You have unlocked a new stat!>
<New Stat: Divinity>
Divinity: Measures your connection to divine forces and higher laws. Increases resistance to godly influence. You gain power when you attain devoted followers. This stat cannot be increased artificially.
"The actual fuck?" Rael nearly choked on the fish bone.
This was the last thing he expected to get from that reward.
He was expecting maybe some kind of light-shooting powers from his eyes, but a stat where he gained power, resistances, and other overpowered stuff just from having followers?
I’m starting a cult.
Maybe...
Anyhow, he didn’t feel that strong yet, and when he glanced at his stats, he soon realized why.
Divinity: 0
Rael let out a sigh.
Alright... I’ll have to figure something out later... Rael trailed off, glancing at the new pop-up that had appeared in front of him.
It was blurry, but bit by bit, he was able to read its contents.
<The First Light, Solenne: Grade 9 Apocalypse Class existence. Formerly a Grade 10 Apocalypse Class existence. The being who existed before existence itself. 6th strongest being in all of the universes. The leader of the Blazing Sun faction. Represents the Law of Light, Darkness, and Fate. Known titles: Original Light (Supreme)>
"Hmm..."
Yeah, I have no clue how I survived against her last time, Rael mused. What’s even more surprising is the fact that the Beast managed to injure her despite being a bit weaker than her.
Even so, the beings he had actually met turned out to be much more powerful than he had imagined.
But now that he had gotten this information, the final pop-up appeared.
<You have gained partial knowledge about one of your feats.>
Rael hummed in satisfaction, and with that, left the kitchen and walked back to the master bedroom.
He locked the door behind him and sat down on the bed.
Just in case, he checked the Premium Shop to see if he could find any more information about his feats, but after confirming that there wasn’t anything left, he took a deep breath and pressed the ascension button.
<Ascension is starting!>
In an instant, his body began to float a bit off the bedsheets, and as he was expecting to be bombarded with some kind of heavenly lightning, he simply plopped back down onto the bed. freewebnσvel.cøm
He felt his strength zap away for a moment, then come back several times denser.
The bed began to tremble, then the entire house itself.
But it seemed to go beyond that, as the entire blue star he was on shook, causing nearby space to crack open.
Black tendrils shot out, but just as they were about to reach Rael, they halted, then slowly made their way back into the cracks.
And like that, he felt another rush of strength, then another until eventually, the trembling of everything around him halted.
Then his eyes shot open with one final burst of strength, and just like that, it was done.
<Ascension has been completed.>

<The Max level limit of your advanced stats has been unlocked!>
<Base Stats increased!>
Oh? I thought it would be a bit more, but maybe it’s because I’m only on my first ascension, Rael thought with a tinge of regret. The stats should double every ascension, so I guess I’m not missing out on much. Mine are already high enough.
With that in mind, he brought his attention to another set of pop-ups.

As much as he wanted to get an Ultimate perk similar to his Greed perk, he decided to go with the other option.
