Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 338: Getting The Potion
Chapter 338: Getting The Potion
"Hmm..." Lilith tilted her head skeptically. "You really are a human like none other."
Rael nodded. "Thanks. But how exactly is this ritual supposed to go? Am I going to need to dance inside a magic circle for a few days or something?"
"Nothing of the sort." Lilith shook her head. "All you must do is drink a specially concocted potion. After that, the transformation will begin. If you survive the process, you’ll become a Darkness Demon."
She leaned in slightly. "Don’t worry about the minor loss of control. I’ll be able to keep you in check. I am pretty strong, after all."
Rael raised a brow and inspected her.
—Lilith [Level 4124] - Vitality: Tier 6 [100% / 100% HP]
Hmm... Her level’s super high, but she’s not ascending. Why?
Even so, since her level was so high, he could at the very least put a bit of his trust in her.
"So where to? Who’s going to make this potion?" Rael asked.
"Iradan is the royal alchemist," Lilith said with a tilt of her head. "He’s currently in Mal’Tharan with me. But I’m pretty sure he’s lazing around the pleasure quarter... speaking of the pleasure quarter, our succubi are the finest you can find in this whole world. Do give it a go whenever you’re feeling lonely."
Rael rolled his eyes. "Lead the way."
Lilith let out a giggle and slowly ran toward the city. Upon realizing that he was able to keep up effortlessly, she sped up.
They sprinted through the city in a blur until eventually, they arrived at the red-light district.
How was he able to tell that it was the red-light district?
Well, if the moans weren’t enough, then the naked succubi were definitely a dead giveaway.
They walked up to random demons and snatched them by the arm, dragging them into one of the buildings and getting to work.
He felt a bit uncomfortable, but from the looks of things, Lilith was completely unfazed. Because of that, he decided to suck it up and let her lead the way.
A few minutes passed, and that was when they finally stopped in front of a rundown brothel. It was surprising how shabby and broken down the exterior was; one might even assume this place was abandoned.
But the sounds coming from the inside were even louder than what he had heard earlier.
Is this what people call a hidden gem? Rael mused.
"So uh... he’s inside there, yeah?"
"Mhm."
"Okay, so how do we get him out?"
Lilith turned to him with a faint smile. "There is a rule among demons where only men can enter such establishments. Women who have no intention to work are prohibited from entering."
"Of course..." Rael sighed. "And I’m guessing you won’t mention the fact that you’re their queen to get by?"
Her smile didn’t fade, nor did she answer.
Even so, Rael knew what she had meant.
"What does the alchemist look like?"
"Tall, gray hair. Probably naked," Lilith replied, putting a finger on her chin. "Oh yeah, one of his horns is chipped, the right one."
Rael nodded and stepped inside the brothel.
He roamed through the long hallways until he reached a professionally dressed receptionist.
"Hello, customer. How can I help you~"
Rael’s brows twitched as he explained who he was looking for.
"Hmm... Iradan, yes?" the receptionist asked.
Rael affirmed. "Yep, can you call him out here?"
A faint smile appeared on the receptionist’s face as she tapped the table. "Room number 302. You may get your friend, and please, refrain from fighting or both of you will be banned from this establishment."
These demons... Rael facepalmed, then simply walked over to the room.
It was on the third floor, and once he finally arrived, Rael knocked on the door.
He waited for a few seconds, and after not getting a response, pushed the door open.
To his surprise, only a single demon was present: Iradan.
As Lilith had mentioned, his horn was slightly chipped.
He was doing pull-ups on the chandelier, and when he finally spotted Rael, he dropped down, a frown appearing on his face.
"I believe I asked for a beautiful woman to come over, not some... you’re human? How did you even get this far in?" Iradan asked warily.
"Lilith sent me. I want you to make a Darkness Demon potion for me," Rael replied before the misunderstandings could get too out of hand.
"Oho... I see." Iradan’s smirk grew. "Lilith is back at it with her experiments, eh? Good, very good. Give me just a moment."
All of a sudden, an entire alchemy station appeared out of nowhere.
There were a few vials already present, some filled with magical water that could make the alchemy possible in the first place.
"This’ll take only a minute. I’m called one of the greatest demonic alchemists for a reason," Iradan bragged.
He began pulling out various herbs, eyeballs, and even a tiny black demonic core.
He heated the vial filled with magic water, then tossed everything inside, mixed it, and a few moments later, a pleasant aroma spread through the air.
However, the potion itself looked anything but pleasant. It was a pitch-black murky mixture with a single eyeball floating around.
Ugh... fucking hell. Am I really supposed to drink that? But... the power I’ll get from it is definitely worth it.
He wouldn’t need to consume his system-assigned evolution path, so it was highly likely he could have both the Darkness Demon evolution and the Fractured Fatekin at the same time.
Alas...
"Here, human." Iradan corked the potion and threw it at Rael. "Be sure to drink it all at once. I heard it tastes better that way."
He grinned as he reached into his inventory and pulled out a straw.
"But I heard... if you drink it slowly, you can savor the true contents of what it means to become a Darkness Demon, so what do you say?"
Rael rolled his eyes and stepped out of the room, swiftly leaving the brothel.
Lilith was waiting for him by the side of the building, looking thoroughly unimpressed.
Still, he approached her and waved the disgusting potion around.
"I got it."
