One hour later.

Raios is hanging from the steep slope with a surprised expression.

One of his arms was cut off and his second arm is the only anchor holding him to the mountain without letting him fall. He looked around. A lot of the mountain surface has been destroyed. Except for the spot he held on to, the rest of it looked fragile, brittle and loose.

He is still surprised by how the battle went. The other nine opponents he had, were by no means any weaker than him. He didn't believe that he could just come out on top. He hoped for it of course, but he didn't believe he could achieve as easily as he thought.

From the flying rocks to the gravity within the battle zone, everything worked in his favor.

Whenever he was in a critical situation something or the other happened. A flying rock came to his rescue or the battle between other opponents interrupted his attack or his attacker became a victim to that gravity.

There were some instances when all these factors were combined.

By the end of the fight, he was completely banged up, but he was the only one remained. As for the rest… they were all dead. No one got a chance to escape for some reason. Whenever someone tried to surrender in a desperate situation, a rock or an attack landed exactly on their mouth.

By now, he is not exactly delighted by this outcome.

Since the start, he realized that he had some luck with all the formations.

For some reason, he managed to cross every single one by what looked like sheer luck. However, he always managed to get out of the situation.

At first, he believed that it was just his time to shine and he just managed to get by with coincidences, then he believed that it was his sheer dumb luck. But now, he felt suspicious. No matter what, no one would get this lucky.

No one can have such a lucky streak.

The universe is not that kind. And these suspicions grew higher and higher with the battle.

As he was thinking, a bright light enveloped him and threw him into a white space. He started healing and his body is recovering a rapid rate.

His arm grew back, but he still didn't feel at ease. It was all way too spooky for him. What he doesn't know is that he is not the only one feeling like that. The rest of the top ten rankers of this pocket dimension, except were feeling the same thing as they healed.

Because some of them beat even better fighters than his opponents.

For example, White. He is the most suspicious of all, because he didn't end up in top ten. When his nine opponents came at him, his formation favored them way too much.

Whenever he used recoil hit, the formation nullified a big portion of its energy at random.

By the end of it, he lost the fight and ended up being eliminated. And to his disgrace he was the first one to be out of his group. He is now mulling over this misfortune in the grey space. At least, what he doesn't know is that he is one of the select few who managed to get out alive.

That too because Sam wanted him to stay alive.

After the recovery is over, the last ten people left in the pocket dimension were sent over to the golden dome.

The rest of the set up Sam had before disappeared. All that was left is a small pedestal on which the glowing blue colored orb is hovering. For some reason, the moment they laid their eyes on it, they felt attracted to it.

To the point that all these candidates forgot that they were just feeling suspicious a few minutes ago.

Soon, they broke out of the trances and noticed each other. Even when they knew that they were the ones in the top ten list, they still couldn't believe it. The freshman ranking kind of became a joke because except for Sam, no one else from that ranking was there.

"Now, it is time to decide the top ten rankings and also the winner. For your information, when you are die or stay alive by the end of this battle, you will stay in the top ten rankings. Your prize will go to your closest blood relative or any other nominee that you desire if you are dead.

Go to the orb on the pedestal and imprint that nominee name on that."

That was the first announcement given by whatever entity that was giving the announcement since the start.

After they did what they were told, the blue orb and the pedestal disappeared. All that was left it is an empty space covered by the golden dome above and ten participants.

Out of those ten participants, nine of them are shit scared of the tenth one. The tenth one being one and only Sam.

Sam knew that the plan will go smoothly from now on. He knew they will gang up on him. Otherwise, they would have no choice. They know that Sam will be the sole decider of the rankings if they left him alone and they were not ready to do it.

That would be stupid.

But solidify that resolve, Sam had another plan.

"In this battle, if it was just some royal rumble, things will not look so good. So, to make it interesting, random powerups and handicaps will popup in the battlefield as you fight. When a participant captures that powerup or handicap, they will be affected by it for a set period of time.

Be careful with that.

Only person will be left standing by the end of it, and they shall face the final challenge alone.

Let the battle begin."

As soon as the announcement ended, a green colored orb popped up in the middle. Right next to Raios and as he drew his sword, he involuntarily touched it.

He felt a wave of vitality spread all over his body. A green colored energy enveloped him. Sam made a move and threw a wind blade at him.

The blade left a cut on Raios' face as he tried to avoid it. But even before he could observe the wound, the green colored energy healed it.

"That's a fucking powerup."

One of the candidates yelled.

"Raios, you lead the attack. We will take him down first."

Another candidate spoke and Raios didn't waste any time. He lunged at Sam with his lightning fusion. The green energy still lingered around him.

Sam took a step back, pulled his arm and launched a palm strike. It landed squarely on Raios' chest. His energy became unstable which fluctuated his fusion form, but to his surprise, the green energy even fixed that.

His fusion form stabilized. His energy control was stabilized. He felt shocked, but he didn't let it affect him. He knew dealing with Sam is troublesome and he focused solely on that.

Sam launched himself at the nearest opponent. The attacks were precise and powerful, not leaving any room for the others to doubt him.

Just when he was about to kill the first guy, Raios felt two things. One is that the green energy is leaving and another one is an energy fluctuation that gave him an ominous tingling feeling. He focused on the location where the feeling is coming from and the next moment, a red colored pop-up appeared there.

One of the candidates believed it was a powerup and caught it.

The next moment…

*BAM*

He collapsed to the ground. He is subjected to hundred times gravity compared to the rest, which made him collapse.

Sam was distracted by the sudden collapse which happened very close to him. This gave the chance to his victim who pushed Sam away and surrendered. One down, eight more to go. Sam thought popped up, not just in Sam's mind, but in everyone else's as well. They might be teaming up now, but they never forgot that they were each other's opponents as well. The fight continued. Sam focused on the guy who was being effected by the handicap of excess gravity. Raios soon lost his healing factor. The seven of them tried to keep Sam in check, not letting him deal with the handicap.

At that moment, Raios felt another fluctuation very close. But this time, it gave an auspicious sense. However, a sense of threat from Sam made him jump sideways making him push another candidate.

The candidate landed on a green popup that appeared out of nowhere and by coincidence that was from the same spot Raios caught that auspicious feeling.

The man who caught that green pop-up suddenly felt the green energy around him, but it wasn't a healing factor, instead his speed increased. The gravity lightened up and the energy increased his performance. The energy levels in his body raised to a threatening level and he had to expel it.

Who better than Sam to receive it?
