Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer-Chapter 2181 Bloody Chariot's Request
Sam increased the surveillance on Alton.
He didn't act up immediately and just wanted to learn more information. After that, Sam focused back on Bloody Chariot.
For the whole week, the man didn't come out of his room. He kept on studying the theories. He lost himself in it and only the payment day did he come out. Sam borrowed the surveillance from the other people as he observed Bloody Chariot intently.
Bloody Chariot, after coming out of this seclusion talked to his assistant for a while. For some reason, the whole discussion was about the Gambler Academy and their state.
He realized that not a single person from the Gambler Academy has actually died from the contract. They are all alive and well. Except for the Sanatan region and Xia region, only the Gambler academy was the one and only place where this phenomenon has happened.
After that, he inquired about how many losses they have taken in the past week by the Gambler academy. The academy war barely showed any hope for the Zeus Academy and the tensions are only increasing.
The Zeus Academy is cornered into defending. The Gambler academy didn't exactly win with overwhelming strength.
It is not like they are swarming with powerful cultivators and destroyed them, but rather the approach was so smooth and quick at the same time. They are intellectually taking down the Zeus Academy one resource point at a time.
In a way, one could even say that their tactics are very similar to the tactics Sam employes when he deals with his own enemies.
They are dealing with each resource point as a project and are deteriorating the defenses before just straight up abducting them. In fact, the lives are very less compared to any other academy war.
This only made them feel more scared.
If the Gambler academy can deal with them without even killing, what if they stopped giving a damn and straight up went on a kill mode.
They didn't want to imagine that situation.
After learning more details, Bloody Chariot went to meet with some of the Elders.
The meeting room was small and the elders are all swamped with documents.
Sam looked at them and said.
"How far did you come with your task? Did you calculate all the assets well?" Bloody Chariot asked without even stepping in. The room seemed to have been locked up for a while now. It is even irritating his nose a bit.
"Yes, Sir. All the assets of the academy and our affiliate businesses are calculated. However, there are some more assets acquired by the Gambler Academy at this moment and we need to remove them from the list."
An Elder passed a document to bloody chariot.
He took a look at them and nodded. That list indicated the total net worth of the Zeus Academy at the moment. Bloody chariot gave this task when he went on to the seclusion and the elders didn't disappoint him.
He looked at them and asked.
"What about the assets of the elders that were dismissed? Did you evaluate them? Is the investigation underway?"
One of the Elders pursed her lips and spoke.
"Sir, we did gather all the details required. The investigation is not concluded yet, but the way it is right now, it is as good as done. The Elders indeed accumulated a lot of assets in the name of academy by abusing their position.
However, are you sure you want to take such drastic measures?
Even though they are dismissed, they have accumulated quite some reputation in their time here. They are also connected to a lot of families who happened to be our patrons. So, it will be troublesome if we get into conflict with them.
We are not peaceful after all."
Bloody Chariot looked at the woman who spoke. He nodded and replied.
"You have a point, but don't worry. I am not Heron. Heron is good at preventing conflicts, but since we are neck deep in the conflicts anyway, that means, it is about time for us to take a new approach.
So, there is no need to worry about the conflicts now. We will go in a hard way."
After that, he took another list from the elders before leaving.
He walked out of the academy and towards the Gambler Academy.
He walked to Wharton's office and knocked on the door. The attendant just looked at him nervously. He knows that Wharton is not petty enough take his anger out on an attendant, but he doesn't want to face that childish retaliation.
He would whine like a kid,
Just imagine a man who looks like he is in his sixties whining to you like a child?
*KNOCK* *KNOCK*
Bloody Chariot knocked again and again until the doors opened.
Inside, Wharton is standing beside his own arcade machine with the simulation gear on his body.
He looked at Bloody Chariot and frowned.
"Are you here to return my hundred spirit stones?" He asked.
Bloody Chariot gave out a wry smile and took a seat unceremoniously.
"I am here to talk about something serious. Can you let that silly wager go?"
"How can any wager be silly? Every wager is supposed to be taken seriously."
"Alright, I don't have any time to endure your whining. I came here to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"I want you guys to end the Academy war. At least put a hold to it until I restore the Zeus Academy a bit. Right now, the three Norse academies are targeting the Zeus Academy. They are making moves behind the scenes and I heard there is some diplomatic pressure in the last week.
They are asking me an explanation for the attack that happened at the entrance.
And the parents whose kids were killed at that day are being impatient. They are asking me to seek justice.
I think they can make some grave mistake if they don't take proper measures.
So, until I deal with this, I want you guys to take a break on attacking the Zeus academy.
After I step down, everyone can knock themselves out."
"Its not in my hands. I cannot do it." Wharton directly rejected him.
"What do you mean? You are the Dean here, I am sure you have the authority to stop the academy war."
"No, I can't do it. Dove is in charge of those boring things. So, she makes the final decisions."
"Dove is in charge of what 'boring things' exactly?"
Wharton thought for a moment and started counting on his fingers.
"She is in charge of external relations, business affiliations, patron management, wars and battles…"
"Stop" Even before Wharton could finish speaking, Bloody Chariot stopped him.
"You left all these important jobs to a student?"
Wharton frowned and said.
"They are boring and she is good at that boring stuff."
"Are you insane?"
"No, I think I am just slightly twisted." Wharton answered with a straight face. Bloody Chariot held his forehead in defeat.
"Alright, I can't deal with you. Let me just talk to Dove then."
"Then go to her office. What the hell are you doing here?"
Bloody chariot can only hold his forehead tighter.
After some time, he sat in her office. He told her about his situation.
Dove looked at him with an amusing smile.
"I don't know if I should feel happy or sad."
Bloody chariot remained silent for this. Dove sighed and spoke.
"I don't know if I should be happy that a man like THE Bloody Chariot came to me for a favor. Or if I should feel sad for you. For being such a situation because of the stupid mistakes made by your arrogant juniors."
"Even I can't answer that question. But what about my request. Can you do that?"
"Well…."
Dove was about to speak, when her wrist band got a ping. It was a message from Sam. She looked at the message in surprise, but she didn't show it on her face and said.
"It is not like we can't do it. But there should definitely be a price and a few conditions attached to it."
"Expected. What would that be?"
"The exchange rate for the hostages will increase by ten percent, effective immediately. And after this truce, in the next phase of the war if your academy doesn't take away the hostages within the first three days, that means, you are consenting us to increase the ransom by ten percent every passing day.
And if you don't do it by a week, that means you are allowing us to kill them.
Also, in this time of truce, you need to give access to the Olympian exclusive pocket dimensions to the students of the Gambler Academy.
Of course, not to be unreasonable, that access can just be first and second grade.
That is all. If you are fine with these conditions, then we are fine with the truce."
Bloody Chariot took a really deep breath. A very very deep one, to the point, Dove could have sworn that the air density in the room has lessened.
