Re: Elf Prince—A Degenerate's Second Chance-Chapter 104. Red Claw’s Ambition
104. Red Claw’s Ambition
Red Claw faced his father the village chief and without hesitation swung his dagger for his head, brhe only words that escaped his mouth was. "Forgive me father but your time is long overdue."
His hands was stopped a few inches from cutting off his father’s head. The hand that had stopped him was a simple palm.
"You do not deserve his forgiveness Red Claw." Said the hateful voice of a woman, she had long orange hair and smooth skin. Her body was well pronounced and curvy, on her head was also a fair of orange fox ears she was the wife to Red Claw and the mother of both Merylin and Elze. She wore a piece of white cloth that was wrapped over her chest and leaving the rest of her upper skin bare. Around her neck and wrists were beads, and also on her waist. On her lower body she wore a pair of pants made of rough fabric.
Seeing his wife standing before him Red claw did not flinch as he spoke. "Erina, don’t."
Erina glared at him and threw a fast kick to his face from the side, the speed of her attack almost caught him off guard. To block it he had to pull back his hand, and when he did he felt the bone in his hand ache. Not even a second passed as somehow he received another kick, this one impacting him on the side and sending him staggering backwards.
Red claw hissed out in pain and gripped his daggers tighter and looked at her and spat on the floor. "I almost forgot how hard you hit, should we really be fighting in front of the children dear?"
Erina said nothing and instead took a glance at her father in law and said. "Don’t worry I will hold him off."
The old beast man shook his head and said in a broken tone. "He is my failure. And he is not your opponent."
A second later Erina feels the cold metallic surface of a steel blade digging into her side, she cried out in pain as she felt something cut within her. She could not believe his fast Red claw had closed the gap, "Dammit, you have been hiding your true strength all this time?"
Red Claw smiled and said in a hollow voice that causes her to shudder. "You should not not have gotten in my way my dear mate, do you want the girls to grieve over you."
She roared in rage as she drove her elbow into his chest delivering a blow powerful enough to force him to retreat to a safer distance. "Don’t bring the cubs into this you fool. I don’t know why you did this but you were never one to be blinded by ambition."
Red claw grunted as he held his chest and tried to suppress the throbbing pain. "Ambition? What does that word even mean? Look around you, these fools have led us for years and years that we have all fallen asleep. In the old times our race had a semblance of authority over the world but now the beast tribes are scattered because we chose to let the world grow. That’s stupidity at its worst, but I don’t want to bore you with all this nonsense."
Red claw raised his dagger before him and watched the last of his wife’s blood trickle off it. His eyes never once left her, he knew beast than to underestimate her. "Old history is it’s own news and I want to forge a new history. Aren’t you tired of the adventures coming into our territories and hunting is like we are just like the animals they take. They seem to have forgotten about how we ruled the lands."
Erina clutched tight to her bleeding side and said in a low voice. "Is this about Nico?" Uttering the words made her heart tighten. Nico was her first cub, he was a young boy with a prominent future and talent for magic. One day he found an adventure dying and helped him and in return he was killed, cut to pieces and sold of like merchandise. "This is not the way, you are killing your own people."
Red claw laughed at this and started to advance slowly towards her, "Any one who does not follow my cause is not my people. Under my reign we will not cower in fear, we will grow that even the elves will tremble."
Erina staggered, the cut running deeper than she thought it did. If she chose to fight then it would be at the risk of opening the wound even further. "Red Claw, please let’s talk about this."
Red claw did not hesitate to spring into action and swipe his dagger at the base of her neck. "Let’s not waste words, dear."
Erina wanted to block the attack when someone stepped in and stopped the attack halfway. Her eyes widened for a few seconds, even the village chief was surprised but none was as surprised as Red Claw himself. "You!" He boomed with rage.
The figure smiled and stood proudly between both parties and said in a confident tone. "Hey don’t go killing her just yet, she still bears some use."
Erina spoke up so her saviour could hear. "Thank you for your help."
The figure chuckled darkly as he proceeded to wind the smear of blood off his mouth and then saying. "Don’t mistake me beastie ladies I don’t give a damn if everyone here dies. Let’s just say I admire your fighting style."
Red claw swung his dagger at him with full force, "You psychopath, die right here."
The young man deflected the blade with a swift kick, sending it flying into the crowd. "No, I won’t be dying for nobody. And my name is Ash Velarion, lord of fire."
After that the sound of the battle followed, rising and falling. The outcome of everything seemed unpredictable at the moment as both parties knew boring of the others cards.
Ash smiled and decided to attract first. He approached Red claw and threw a strong blow at his face, Red claw jerked to the side and dodged the blow with ease, he them thrust the dagger for Ash’s neck. Ash ducked down under the attack and closed the distance between them even more, when he felt it was right he threw a blow into the gut of red claw and it sank in like a bullet.
Red claw then thrust his dagger into Ash’s back and jerked him up. Ash’s tried to balance himself but Red claw had already sent a strong blow to his chest, as the blow impacted him something cracked inside. Or more accurately a number of something’s, it was like a huge anvil had been sent ramming into him with great force.
Ash’s body staggered as he spat out blood, "What the hell is he made off?" He asked himself. But then again there was another blow coming but this time aiming for his face.
Ash raised his hands in time to block it, on impact the bones in his hand shattered and he was sent flying into the wall. Instead of collapsing or fighting back Ash stood there and barely managed to whisper. "Legs see what you’ve got idjit."
In that instant a pains scream sounded. "Father!!"
Red claw looked back over his shoulder to see his daughter half covered in blood and next to her was the white haired elf in a strange stance that was neither offensive or defensive. This annoyed him, "Why must you all go against me and make things difficult?"
Eryndor stepped forward and boomed. "Hey asshole, I’ll be your opponent."
Red claw failed to suppress a mocking laugh. "A degenerate such as yourself hopes to best me, I am more than three times your age. You are far below me and what can you do without your precious magic?"
Eryndor felt like he had waited all his life to heat someone ask him that, he smiled and said. "Well, why don’t we find that out. What can I do without my precious magic?"
The question went both ways as Eryndor did not know if summoning his weapon from the souls void would work and that would be his only saving grace.
