Chapter 108: The Throne of Eternity

The Grand Sage, once a being of absolute terror, was now reduced to a trembling mess of void-matter.

Noah stood before him, the Crown of Destruction pulsing with a rhythm that matched the heartbeat of the universe itself.

"An eternal, eh?" Noah’s voice was a soft whisper, yet it carried a weight that made the space around them crack.

A creepy, predatory smile appeared on his face, a look that belonged to a predator who had found a particularly amusing insect.

"Do you want to know a secret?"

Noah took a slow, deliberate step forward.

The Grand Sage tried to retreat, but the space behind him had turned into a solid wall of purple energy.

He was trapped.

Noah leaned in, placing his mouth beside the Grand Sage’s ear.

He spoke only a few words.

Instantly, the Grand Sage started shaking.

The purple-black matter that formed his body began to leak out like water from a broken jar.

His eyes, once filled with the greed, were now wide with a horror so profound it transcended physical pain.

He fell to his knees, his hands clawing at the stone floor of the arena.

He looked as though he had seen the bottom of the abyss and realized it was looking back at him.

"Now you can die," Noah said, his voice returning to a tone of utter boredom.

"I have a lot of things to do."

Noah placed a hand casually on the man’s shoulder.

He didn’t strike him.

He didn’t use a spell.

He simply channeled a small stream of the purple energy from his crown.

Fwoosh.

The Grand Sage didn’t even have time to scream.

He vanished into thin air.

There was no blood, no dust, and no soul left behind.

He was simply gone, deleted from the records of existence.

Noah then looked at the remaining fifteen sages who were still struggling against the Generals.

He didn’t feel like watching a long fight.

With a simple snap of his fingers, a wave of purple light swept across the arena.

One by one, the sages popped like bubbles, leaving nothing but silence behind.

This slaughter was seen by everyone in the universe.

Through the magic broadcast screens on a million planets, the citizens saw the Chaos Temple, the most feared faction in history, destroyed within moments by a single man.

However, Noah wasn’t celebrating.

As the last sage vanished, the Crown of Destruction glowed with a blinding light.

Noah’s mind felt like it was being pulled through a straw.

His vision blurred, and the cheering of the stadium faded into a hum.

When he opened his eyes, he was no longer in the arena.

He was standing in a white room.

It wasn’t very big, nor was it very small.

There were no walls, no ceiling, and no floor, just an endless, comforting whiteness.

Noah looked down at himself.

He was still wearing his white robes, but the Crown was gone.

"Where is this place?" Noah asked aloud.

His voice didn’t echo.

He started walking forward.

In the center of the space, a dark orb was floating.

It pulsed with a strange, heavy energy that felt familiar yet distant.

As he approached the orb, a female voice resonated directly inside his skull.

"You are finally here. I have been waiting for you for an eternity."

The voice was graceful, ancient, and carried a hint of sadness.

"Huh? Waiting for me? Who are you?" Noah asked.

His hand instinctively reached for the power he usually felt in his chest.

But he didn’t get an answer right away.

Suddenly, he felt a violent pull from within his own body.

Three streaks of light shot out of his chest.

The Lotus of Creation, the Cube of Life, and the Crown of Destruction.

They began to circle the dark orb, moving faster and faster until they were nothing but a blur of color.

Static electricity crackled between the objects.

They were pulling at each other, merging their concepts.

At that moment, a name appeared in Noah’s mind, as if it had always been there.

The Orb of Death.

Boom!

The four objects collided and merged into a single pillar of brilliant light.

The light shifted and molded itself, turning into the figure of a woman.

She was tall, draped in robes of pure light, with eyes that held the spark of every star ever born.

"Hello," she said with a gentle bow.

"I am Lumina, the spirit of the Eternal Throne. It is nice to meet you."

Noah stayed calm.

"Eternal Throne? What is that?"

Lumina didn’t explain with words.

She gestured with her hand, and her body transformed.

She dissolved into golden particles and reshaped herself into a massive, majestic throne.

It was made of a material that looked like frozen time, decorated with runes that described the birth and death of the multiverse.

"The Throne of Eternity," her voice echoed from the seat itself, "is the throne of the ruler of all creation and existence."

"Whoa," Noah muttered, impressed despite himself.

"That’s a big title. But why am I here? I was in the middle of a victory party."

Lumina shifted back into her human form.

"You are here because you are going to be enthroned."

"From the beginning of time, this throne has remained empty, waiting for a soul that could carry the weight of the four pillars: Life, Creation, Destruction, and Death."

"It chose you. But..."

She paused, looking him up and down with a bit of a frown.

"But you are very puny."

"To sit on this throne and actually survive the power, you need to have the strenth to destroy the Realm of Infinity."

"You must surpass the very concept of limits."

Noah sighed, crossing his arms.

"Hold on, lady. If you think you can just say words in codes and expect me to decode them, think again."

"I don’t have time for that."

"I just confessed to my girl, Liara, and I want to go back to her."

"If you want something from me, tell me the details. No riddles."

He heard a soft sigh in his head.

Lumina looked at him with a bit more respect.

"Very well."

"You aren’t worthy enough to know everything yet, but I will be blunt."

"Your current foundation is flawed."

"You have built your power using the rules of the Realm of Infinity."

"Anyone who does that can never break through to the final, true realm of cultivation."

"You will hit a ceiling and stay there forever."

"Is that so?" Noah asked, narrowing his eyes.

"And what does the Realm of Infinity have to do with you?"

"It is a prison," Lumina said coldly.

"And you are one of the inmates who thinks he is a king."

"To truly sit on this throne, you must go through the cycle of reincarnation."

"You must discard your current power and recultivate your foundation from scratch."

"Only then can you build a body and soul strong enough to hold the weight of Eternity."

Noah stared at her.

"You want me to die and start over?"

"After I just conquered the universe?"

"Because the Great Apocalypse is very near," Lumina warned.

"At the pace you are progressing now, you will never be ready."

"You will be erased along with everything you love."

"I suggest you finish your business in this world and prepare for reincarnation soon."

"When you are ready, call my name."

"I will send you to a special world where you can grow stronger than you ever imagined."

Before Noah could argue, the white room began to dissolve.

The New Reality

Noah felt a sudden jolt, and he was back.

He was standing in the center of the arena.

The sun was shining, and the air was clear of the purple mist.

The silence was absolute.

But it wasn’t the silence of fear anymore.

It was the silence of pure, unadulterated reverence.

Thousands of people were kneeling on the ground.

Emperors, warriors, and civilians.

They weren’t being forced down by pressure this time.

They were kneeling because they had seen a god walk among them.

"Your Majesty!" William and the other Generals shouted.

Their voices were cracking with pride.

They stood at attention, their weapons lowered in salute.

Beside him, Liara was no longer a Phoenix.

She had returned to her human form, her cheeks flushed a deep red.

She looked at him with eyes that were no longer just full of love, but complete devotion.

She had seen him save her.

And she had seen him erase a Transcended Being with a whisper.

Noah looked at his hands.

But he knew something.

This power was a "puny" version of what he was meant to become.

He looked at the crowd, then at his friends.

The weight of Lumina’s words sat heavy on his heart.

He had a choice to make.

He could stay here as the undisputed king of a ripening universe.

Or he could throw it all away for a chance to save everything from an apocalypse he didn’t yet understand.

"Looks like I need to discuss this with everyone," Noah thought.
