Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack-Chapter 1276 - 1256: Second Uncle’s Gift, a Xiao Hei Cat
Qhianqhian didn’t wait until the next day; as soon as Qin Nuan left, she snuck off to find Old Master Luo. After she spoke with him, he laughed heartily and nodded, "I was thinking the same, it’s rare for you to come home, and now we’ve got this Sect Conference duel, three joyous occasions together sounds great."
Qhianqhian rolled her eyes speechlessly, "Grandpa, do you even know how to count? You call this three joyous occasions?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" Old Master Luo saw Qhianqhian’s eyes and immediately widened his own, how dare his good granddaughter roll her eyes? 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Qin Nuan’s Fourth Brother, Cong Rong’s Third Brother, Qu Lin’s Second Brother, Qin Liang with Rashal’s sister, that’s already four pairs." If only Qin Wen had done better and secured Feng Xi, it would have been five pairs.
"Yes, yes, yes..." Old Master Luo nodded repeatedly at Qhianqhian’s words, laughing so hard that his eyes disappeared into the creases of his face.
"Grandpa, how’s your cultivation going recently?" Qhianqhian sat quietly to the side, watching Old Master Luo saw wood.
"I’m being very serious about it." Old Master Luo nodded with assurance.
Qhianqhian rolled her eyes again, Grandma’s hair is all white and turning black again, yet you still have a head full of grey hair and dare to claim you’re serious?
Looking at his granddaughter’s actions, Old Master Luo lowered his head somewhat guiltily, it’s not really his fault, right?
He needs to fish, to play chess, and to entertain the kids; where’s the time for all that?
"Grandpa, if you don’t work harder, you’ll look like a father and daughter duo with Grandma when you go out." Qhianqhian shook her head and sighed helplessly.
Luo Xiying returned with blueprints, and hearing Qhianqhian’s words, she smiled, "See, Dad, I told you Qhianqhian would have something to say to you once she got back, but you didn’t believe me."
"Even if he did believe it, back in our day he was even more evasive, more than when we used to do our homework." Luo Xisi returned with logs in her arms, rolling her eyes, "Qhianqhian, keep an eye on your grandpa, there’s no talking him into anything, he’s more of a slacker than An Hao."
"Grandpa." Qhianqhian’s face darkened hearing her uncle and cousins’ remarks, comparing him to An Hao? Her tone grew a bit more serious.
Old Master Luo appeared slightly aggrieved, "Well, you see your grandpa didn’t even..."
"That’s my mom’s choice, don’t you want to hold your grandkids’ children? Don’t you want to see how the Nine Heavens Pavilion will be eternally admired in this world?"
"Cough, cough, cough..." Luo Xihan, just returning in time to hear Qhianqhian’s words, couldn’t help but collapse in laughter and rushed out, "Qhianqhian, isn’t that word choice a bit off?"
Eternally admired... isn’t that usually used on tombstones?
"Don’t sweat the small stuff." Qhianqhian stuck out her tongue, "Second Uncle, where have you been? You hadn’t been around earlier."
"I’ve just got back." Luo Xihan said helplessly, "Wherever I go, people are talking about this Nine Heavens Pavilion’s Luo Shiqi, I don’t even dare to say I’m from the Nine Heavens Pavilion."
"Hehe, wasn’t Fourth Brother the same before?" Qhianqhian shrugged, remembering how Yhan Miyuan had once captivated everyone from north to south, even making her wistful.
"Compared to you, your Fourth Brother was just playing around, how about it? You didn’t get hurt, did you?" Luo Xihan asked, full of concern, and then took a small cage out from his backpack, "I initially meant this as a gift for Nuannuan, but since she’s getting married now, it’s not good to just give this, so you’re getting it instead."
Qhianqhian glanced awkwardly at the cage, where eyes shone like stars, and the fur was pure black without any blemish, she twitched her mouth, "Second Uncle, do you know what this is?"
"A black cat, and I spent quite a bit of effort catching it, but it looks like something a little girl would like." Luo Xihan sighed lightly, "It’s just a pity there’s only this one. If there were a pair, all the kids at home could have one."
A black cat?
Qianqian turned her head away, not wanting to meet the eyes in the cage, fearing to see its embarrassment.
It’s definitely a cat, but clearly Second Uncle underestimated this little fellow...
"Second Uncle, maybe you shouldn’t wander off so much in the future. I’m really afraid that one day, you’ll end up as food trying to catch a pet." Qianqian gently shook her head, "Even someone as ignorant as I am knows this is a higher level species than a cat, alright?"
"People just say it’s a cat, they say it’s suitable for little girls to have." Luo Xihan slightly furrowed his brow, took a closer look at the cage, and then handed it over to Qianqian reassuredly, "Look, such gentle eyes, it’s a regular pet cat by the look of it."
Gentle? Qhianqhian looked doubtful, she could clearly see contemplation in those eyes.
But it looked very pretty, so Qianqian still quite liked it and accepted it, "Then thank you, Second Uncle, I won’t tell Nuannuan about it, hehe."
"Alright, didn’t you just get back today? Go rest up, tomorrow you can take some things to see your mom." Luo Xihan nodded with a helpless expression, "Later make sure to get my memory card back from An Hao, all my savings were taken by him, I had to borrow money to go out this time."
"That little thing..." Qhianqhian felt helpless, nodded in agreement, "Okay, I’ll get it back tomorrow, don’t worry Second Uncle."
With that, she said her goodbyes and left, still holding the cage.
Back in her own yard, she sat on the stone chair and placed the cage on the stone table, blinking her eyes, then released the black creature, "Tang Guo doesn’t come looking for me, you better not run off, behave and I’ll give you some good food."
The black little fellow walked out of the cage with grace, not at all inclined to run, elegantly sat on the stone table, licked its paw pads, and reached out a little paw to Qianqian, as if wanting to shake hands.
Qhianqhian, baffled, reached out and clasped the little paw, the fluffy little pad felt pleasant to the touch, and she instantly fell for it.
"What a well-mannered little guy you are." Qianqian watched the little thing in delight, suddenly curious as she tried to pick it up, "I wonder if it’s a boy cat or a girl cat?"
Upon hearing Qianqian’s words, the little black cat leapt away, distancing itself from her, landing right on top of the yard wall.
Under the moonlight, it seemed like a feline envoy from a magical kingdom speaking the human tongue, adding a touch of mystery.
Qianqian’s mouth hung open in shock.
That leap, did it have springs under its feet?
"I won’t check, alright? Come back." Qhianqian pouted, seeing its reaction, she decided to let it be.
The little fellow jumped back onto the table and faced Qhianqian, then Qianqian let out a yawn, looking at the stars, "If you’re a boy cat, find a spot to sleep, if you’re a girl cat, come inside."
The little fellow wagged its tail and followed Qhianqian indoors.
While Qhianqian cultivated in one corner, it lay in another, closing its eyes.
