Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 135: How Do You Know Aurora Moon?
Chapter 135: How Do You Know Aurora Moon?
"How do you know that name?" he asked, his voice shaking.
Aurora didn’t want to share this with Max, but hearing that this man wanted to withdraw from a top-notch internship program—because of her—she couldn’t bear to let it happen.
How could she not realize from the start that Max liked her in the past?
No wonder he chose to study computer science when all his family members were in the legal field.
Her cold hands clenched even tighter as she stared into Max’s shocked eyes.
"Max, before I respond, I have a question for you, and I hope you’ll answer honestly," she said, striving to remain calm.
Instead of giving a slight nod or answering, Max’s eyebrow arched slightly as he asked, "Why do you look strange, Aurora Spencer?"
"Damn it! I’m freezing and need you to answer me hurriedly! Did you just find out today about Aurora Moon’s death?" I snapped, catching Max off guard.
This time, he didn’t respond verbally but confirmed with a nod.
Her heart raced at his expression. This is her opportunity to know whether Max could hear her confession about her true identity later. She felt thrilled.
"Maxwell, did you like Aurora Moon? That’s why you entered computer science because of her?"
Max appears increasingly shocked. His expression becomes somber, resembling the gray sky above. His eyes become agitated as he gazes at Aurora.
"What nonsense are you trying to say, Aurora Spencer? Stop being so strange. Tell me, how do you know about my sister Rory?" He paused, breathing fresh air to ease his stuffy chest.
Max’s angry tone and hurtful words didn’t make Aurora angry; instead, they filled her with deep sadness as she witnessed Max’s grief for her.
After a few weeks, she fully begins to accept her new life, but the pain she felt in the past lingers in her heart once more.
The urge to embrace Max and share her thoughts almost overwhelmed her. She tried hard to suppress that feeling, worried Max might become even more confused.
Nonetheless, she has to confess the truth to him. She cannot allow the gifted young Max to abandon his skill simply because the person he likes is no longer here.
"I’m your sister, Rory, Maxy! It’s me, Aurora Moon!" Her voice brimmed with excitement, hoping Max could hear her.
"Please answer me; how do you know Aurora Moon? Have you ever met her?" Max asked again after he saw that Aurora didn’t say anything, only looking at him with her weird gaze, a mix of sadness and guilt.
Listening to Max’s question and seeing his fierce gaze shattered her hope. Just like Alex, Max couldn’t hear the truth from her lips, which confirmed that she couldn’t tell anyone about her rebirth.
’Heaven! So, he also can’t hear it?’ Aurora shrugs and feels she no longer needs to try anything about it.
"Aurora, I know you can hear me. Can you please stop confusing me now?"
A small smile emerged from Aurora’s lips as she gently lifted her hand and patted Max’s shoulder.
"I know your brother, Danny, and Renata. I heard about Aurora Moon from them. I just assumed that the person you mentioned earlier is her..." Aurora said casually, pausing momentarily to let Max process his shock.
After seeing Max regain some control over himself, Aurora continued, "So, is it true that the person you mean is Aurora Moon?" she asked, curious to hear his answer.
Max couldn’t answer Aurora’s question because someone yelled at him from a distance.
"What the heck are you doing, Max?" Josh yelled furiously. "I’ll seriously hurt you if you try to touch her!"
Aurora was speechless to hear Josh’s furious words. Hurriedly, she turned to see him and, taken aback, noticed how angry he was; his killing intent was no joke.
"Josh, calm. He didn’t try to harm me," she explained while raising her hand to stop Josh from approaching Max. Looking at his gaze, she noticed that Josh was about to deliver a powerful punch to Max.
Josh didn’t say anything; he simply halted his steps, hearing Aurora’s words, but his intense gaze remained fixed on Max.
His anger lingers in his mind. How dare this man bring his lady boss out without informing them? Earlier, he had been terrified to see their table empty. He tried to call her, but she didn’t answer.
After a few more minutes of stressing out about finding Aurora, he finally asked someone to check the CCTV to locate her and confirm they were in the outside garden.
What made him even angrier was that she didn’t wear proper clothes in this cold weather. If his boss knows about it, he will be in trouble.
Just before Josh urged Aurora to return inside, David interrupted him.
"Aurora, Max, why are you chatting here? We looked for you both inside and thought you had left without us," David said as he approached and stood beside Josh. He looked at Aurora and Max, waiting for their response.
But no one responded. Instead, Max glanced at Aurora, his expression revealing mixed emotions.
"Aurora, let’s talk again after office hours! I will call you..." Max coldly said, leaving without waiting for her response.
Josh, who sees how despicable Max’s attitude toward Aurora is, feels the urge to give him a good beating, but Aurora holds his hand.
"Hold on, Josh. That’s not his fault; I invited him to speak here..." She shot him a glare. "Let’s leave; I’m cold!"
...
Returning to the building significantly improved Aurora’s mood. The chill she had felt earlier gradually faded away. She noticed that the cafeteria was quieter than before.
While heading to the elevator, Josh finally inquires, "Did you bring your cell phone?"
"I do..." Aurora answered, taking her phone from her pocket, surprised to see that the battery had run out. "You called me?" she glanced at him.
Josh pushed the elevator button before responding, "Yeah. And I also asked someone to check the CCTV to find you." He saw her gasp and only smiled, guessing her thoughts.
"Geez, can you relax? No one here will harm me, Josh. Stop overreacting..." She said softly while entering the elevator. Now she feels uneasy; Alex must be aware of this.
