Dense purple lightning and the steel needle charged straight toward his temples. He exerted all his superpower to barely withstand the first wave.

Within just three moves, Captain Zhu spat a mouthful of blood and collapsed onto the sofa.

Bai Xiqin’s eyes narrowed slightly.

She still wanted to know who was so capable of brainwashing the resolute Captain Zhu.

"True God," it sounded like an excuse concocted by a con artist organization to brainwash the elderly.

Captain Zhu was born in the homeland of flowers, making him a police captain, he shouldn’t be so unaware.

"I don’t understand what you’re talking about." Captain Zhu vigorously wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, "You two must be the ones who saved those survivors!"

Some survivors ran out from the abandoned building, and yet he could secretly capture one or two to inquire about the situation.

After all, he was one of the top ten captains of Fire Phoenix Safety Base. There was always one or two with enough weakness to reveal the situation back then.

He had the original sketches of those two, which looked entirely different from Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai.

But he could immediately determine that these two were the ones who cut off his financial path.

In the safety base, Third Rank Superpower Users were few and far between. The purple thunder ability used by Leng Yebai confirmed what those survivors said.

The man who saved them used a Thunder Ability and was a Third Rank Superpower User.

Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai listened to Captain Zhu without contradicting him.

Since they didn’t plan on allowing him to see tomorrow’s sun, knowing was just knowing.

"Did you learn that there are crystal cores in human brains from him?" Bai Xiqin pointed at the dazed Captain Zhu.

Captain Zhu’s eyes shifted slightly, not directly answering, but instead changing the topic, "What’s that mutated plant on your wrist?"

He was very interested in that earlier, feeling the floral scent was quite special.

Bai Xiqin calmly pulled off the water python from her wrist next to the mandala flower and threw it at Captain Zhu.

The water python drew a graceful arc in the air and landed on Captain Zhu’s head.

Captain Zhu’s face froze for a moment, "I meant that flower wrapped around your wrist."

In Captain Zhu’s perspective, zombies and mutant animals were evolving, and restoring the pre-apocalyptic order would take a considerable amount of time.

In this extended period, crystal cores were akin to pre-apocalyptic money, further enhancing personal strength.

No one minded having too few crystal cores.

Bai Xiqin watched Captain Zhu with an indifferent gaze, unmoved by his words.

Captain Zhu’s face had a hint of paleness.

It was Captain Zhu who told him unintentionally.

Since the collapse of the abandoned opening, he no longer had a source for new crystal cores.

He could only covertly look for a new address, re-plan his past.

However, the rescued survivors already knew of his ways, and clandestinely, there would always be one or two individuals to stir trouble.

Instead of finding the research institute, they stumbled across an even larger organization.

"No more, can I leave now? Rest assured, I absolutely won’t tell anyone."

Captain Zhu forced a smile.

Once out, he wouldn’t let them go.

They ruined his plan of rearing survivors; he definitely wouldn’t let them go.

"Alright." Bai Xiqin retracted the steel needle and winked at the water python.

The water python curled its lip disdainfully, biting Captain Zhu’s back once before returning to Bai Xiqin’s wrist.

Captain Zhu merely felt like a mosquito bit his back, paying it no mind.

Hearing Bai Xiqin say he can leave, the pressure on him vanished. He quickly stood up, without looking at Captain Zhu, and hurriedly walked toward the exit.

Once out of Captain Zhu’s villa, the first thing Captain Zhu did was head towards his own villa.

He still had quite a few High Rank Superpower Users under his command; strategies needed to be discussed.

However, as he walked, his steps became increasingly rigid.

By the time his hand touched the doorknob, it had turned black, and a patch of black-purple spread across his back.

Puzzled, he glanced at his blackened fingers, but before he could utter a word, he collapsed onto the ground.

Foaming at the mouth, his body convulsed.

The floral scent still lingered in the vicinity, causing everyone to fall into a trance. No one noticed Captain Zhu, who slumped to the ground.

A minute later, Captain Zhu lay completely still. His breathing had ceased.

On the other side.

Bai Xiqin’s steel needle again aimed at the dazed Captain Zhu.

Captain Zhu’s vacant eyes stared at Bai Xiqin, muttering, "Xiao Song, when you become a High Rank Zombie, I’ll take you to find the True God, who will turn you into a real human."
