Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate-Chapter 799: Pitying Oneself
Kai Bright: "..."
Did they think he was still a bachelor?
He’s got a girlfriend now!
"I’m also going to be with Lucy." Kai Bright "angrily" said.
He’s got something to show off now!
Charles Seymour wasn’t upset at all and spoke calmly: "Lucy has to work."
The "unemployed" guy was staring at the folder in a daze.
With Lucy at work, he couldn’t disturb her, so he could use this free time for investigation.
And Charles Seymour has work during the day and accompanies Sophie Wilson after work.
Strangely, Kai Bright felt something was off: "Why do I feel like a kept guy?"
Charles Seymour didn’t speak, just looked at him steadily.
Kai Bright clutched the folder and stood up with a jerk: "I’m off to investigate now."
Saying this, he dashed off quickly.
He didn’t want to keep suffering here.
So, what was he doing here in the first place?
Kai Bright secretly felt a bit of pity for himself.
"Mr. Bright," the butler called out to him as he was about to leave and handed him a small box with a smile, "These are cookies made by Miss Wilson. She instructed me to give them to you before you left."
Kai Bright laughed, nowhere near as improper as he was in front of Charles Seymour and Sophie Wilson: "My sister really cares about me, knowing I love her baked cookies."
He had to admit, his sister was quite talented in this area.
Carrying his cookies, Kai Bright leisurely walked away, glancing at his surroundings and putting away the documents, then took a detour to find Lucy Wells for a date, have a meal.
So, when Lucy Wells opened the door and saw Kai Bright standing outside with arms full of prepared foods, she was astonished: "Why did you suddenly come over?" 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Takeout, with a few extras," Kai Bright said, shaking the food in his hand with a smile.
Lucy Wells burst out laughing and let Kai Bright in.
"Lucy, who’s there?" Old Mrs. Wells asked from inside.
"Grandma, it’s me," Kai Bright immediately responded loudly, "your favorite, Kai Bright!"
This shameless behavior made Lucy Wells laugh and cry at the same time, but her grandma really enjoyed Kai Bright’s antics, coming out of the room with a smile: "Kai is here, come sit down."
"Grandma, I’ll put the stuff in the kitchen first," Kai Bright didn’t let Lucy Wells take the food but delivered it to the kitchen himself, and even helped a bit, washing his hands and taking out the bowls and chopsticks.
With Kai Bright joining dinner, the three women laughed uncontrollably, and when it was time for Kai Bright to leave, Old Mrs. Wells and Emma Wells were reluctant to see him go.
When Lucy Wells came back, Emma Wells laughed and asked, "Didn’t Kai ask you to see him off downstairs?"
"Yeah, he’s worried about me," Lucy Wells said, her cheeks slowly turning a happy, embarrassed shade of red.
"Kai is such a good kid," Old Mrs. Wells sighed, "He always comes to our house to eat when he has time, he’s worried we two old ones will be lonely."
Lucy Wells nodded, after she got together with Kai Bright, the number of times they went on dates alone was almost equivalent to the number of times he came to her house or took her, her mom and grandma out together.
These small things showed how thoughtful Kai was.
How could she not like a man like that?
"Just worried that Kai’s family might not agree with you two," Emma Wells said worriedly, knowing Kai had mentioned before that his parents were business people.
