Rebirth: I Am Super Rich in Apocalypse-Chapter 78 - Hoarding Soil Frenzy
Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Hoarding Soil Frenzy
Chapter 78 -78: Hoarding Soil Frenzy
Since it was agreed upon, a few people started working together, all hands on deck.
On the first trip, we didn’t bring too many jars as they were indeed too heavy.
Fortunately, it wasn’t too far; we just had to cross the road to get to the flower market.
The situation there wasn’t very optimistic either, with water still covering three floors.
When we arrived, we headed directly for the closest level.
In the middle was a large hall, surrounded by various stalls without any walls separating them.
Everyone’s goods were placed together, and from a distance, it looked like a sea of flowers and plants.
But now, only broken branches and fallen leaves remained.
Jhiang Yuan’s eyes lit up; so much stuff, she doubted her space could even hold it all. She was so excited.
“There probably isn’t anyone here, look how dead it is.”
“Hmm, we can’t be careless though.”
“Then I’ll go check upstairs, you guys start unloading the stuff first.”
As Jhiang Yuan said this, she walked forward.
“Can you manage alone?”
She gave an OK gesture, not looking back as she went upstairs.
Both levels were deserted, and the conditions were slightly better up top, with potted plants in the middle and a row of small rooms on the sides.
They seemed to be places for the merchants to rest and store some of their goods. She hurried back down.
The three of them had already unloaded the gas canisters, placing them at the entrance of the stairwell.
“There were no problems upstairs, and some merchants even left stuff behind.
Although it’s just everyday things, there might also be food. I’ll go up and look.”
She spoke with heartfelt sincerity, and since everyone’s purpose for being there was just that, naturally no one objected.
“Sure, just be careful on your own.”
“Alright!”
Song Yi felt something was odd, but with time pressing, he didn’t dwell on it.
She started from the very top floor. Each rest area wasn’t large, but they were nicely furnished.
Some had wardrobes, some had a bed, and even computers and such.
In front, there were coffee tables, sofas, or rattan tables and chairs.
There were places with tea tables too; it seemed these were the big bosses’ quarters.
Jhiang Yuan didn’t want to waste time. In the first room, there were quite a few bags of nutrient soil under the bed, each weighing twenty pounds.
There was plenty more beside it. She collected it into her space and went in herself.
With no breaks in between, she went through five rounds of upgrades in that one room, expanding by 25 square meters of land.
She was so hurried because later they were going to the construction materials market, where wooden furniture, which took up a lot of space, was available.
In just five minutes, she came out with woven bags, beginning to search for other things in the room.
She had to have some tangible results; being too obvious would give her away.
It was estimated that five round trips would suffice for those liquefied gas canisters.
All told, it wouldn’t take more than an hour, and she needed to use her time wisely.
She skimmed through each room quickly; there was still plenty of useful stuff. Every household had nutrient soil.
As one of the main items sold at the flower market, there was also some snacks available, bottled water, tissues, and more in abundance.
She even found quite a few small spades, probably for shoveling soil, just in case they came in handy.
She left them at the door to see if anyone needed them later. She tossed five into her space along with a small rake.
In the second room, she even found thirty-five thousand yuan, likely payment for goods.
The bills were crisp, as if they had just been withdrawn from the bank, still bounded by the white paper straps.
An unexpected joy indeed, she was thrilled.
Jhiang Yuan was racing against time, searching everywhere.
To prevent suspicion, she had to work quickly.
Forty minutes in, she had already gone through more than half of the place.
She found a total of almost one hundred thousand yuan in cash and a gold ring.
With bits and pieces scattered about, she filled two woven luggage bags.
Seeing that it was almost time, she dared not go back into the space just to avoid any risk of exposure.
They simply decided to collect all the soil from these remaining places, without bothering about the real wood desks and tea tables.
When she got to the last one, she heard Zhang Kaiyang’s voice.
“Over here, come on up.”
“Wow, Sister Yuan, you’re quite the fighter!”
“Only a little bit left, how about Mianmian stays with me, and you two guys sweep the lower floor as well?”
“Okay!”
All three agreed without issue, and Jhiang Yuan divided the upper area to ensure she wouldn’t overlap the previously searched places, then started bustling about.
Searching meticulously, they still found quite a bit of stuff.
“Sister Yuan, let’s go downstairs and help out.”
“Sure!”
By the time they reached downstairs, the other two had almost finished as well.
Song Yi suggested that they look for a suitable place to store the liquefied gas cylinders.
The four of them took all the gathered supplies downstairs to start searching for the so-called suitable place.
When Jhiang Yuan brought the bags down, she noticed a cash register right across from her.
“You guys keep looking, I’m going to check that out.”
Although there was no office area on this level, there were some desks and chairs placed among the flowers.
With careful observation, they were not hard to find.
Jhiang Yuan headed straight for the cash register, where the cash machine was locked with a small lock.
She took out a small shovel and broke it open by force.
There was quite a lot of money inside, a mishmash of notes and coins—twenty thousand yuan wouldn’t be a problem.
Too hurried to count precisely, she didn’t even spare the steel coins.
This must have belonged to a female cashier, as there were quite a few floral teas on the top, and the drawer had two bags of cookies, a notebook, two gel pens, a pack of tissues, and three small packs of paper towels.
A bunch of keys lay there, their purpose unknown.
Pushing the chair back, she crouched down and suddenly noticed a space next to it.
Looking sideways, she couldn’t see anything at all.
She picked up the keys and tried them one by one.
Indeed, this was a small storage room.
Very hidden it was, probably designed to avoid affecting the overall aesthetics of the shopping mall.
Without a second thought, Jhiang Yuan went straight in.
Good heavens, it was full of nutrient soil.
Time to collect it!
This should probably last until the end of time; her mission to collect soil could be considered accomplished.
Busy collecting items, she was also worried about someone barging in.
Nerves strung tight, she didn’t dare relax for a moment.
“Sister Yuan, where are you?”
“Right here…”
After Jhiang Yuan bagged the last pile of soil, she breathed a sigh of relief; the entrance of the small room was already piled up.
“I found a warehouse, do you guys think this will do?”
The three people, curious, found their way over at the sound of her voice.
“Wow, this place is great, you can’t even tell from the outside.”
“I also think it’s good. We can even move these large flower pots over here, to block the view a bit.
Plus, it’s locked, and I’ve found the keys.”
She tried to appear as though she had done a lot of work, so no one would suspect the time it took her for just a bit of soil.
What a struggle for just some soil!
“Sister Yuan, you’re amazing.”
Ye Mianmian’s sycophantic praise hadn’t finished when Song Yi interrupted.
“Hurry up, let’s move the stuff!”
“Okay!”
