Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom-Chapter 122: Watermelon
Of course, compared to Pei Huai, Jiang Ran’s hands are still small.
Jiang Ran’s fingers are long and very dexterous.
Without much visible movement, the dumpling skin spun quickly in her hands and was soon wrapped into a bun.
Pei Huai, after watching Jiang Ran make several buns in a row, was truly convinced that every bun Jiang Ran made was identical, all with eighteen pleats. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Not only were the pleats the same in number, but the size was also pretty consistent.
Nobody knew how long Jiang Ran had practiced wrapping buns like that and at such speed.
It wasn’t until the morning work was done that Pei Huai, taking advantage of Jiang Ran’s absence from the store, asked Pei Yang this question.
Unexpectedly, upon hearing this question, Pei Yang just waved his hand.
"Big brother, you don’t know, sister-in-law is amazing, her first bun looked like this. From the first day we started selling buns, sister-in-law’s speed at wrapping buns has been this fast. Isn’t sister-in-law incredible? I truly think she’s amazing, she’s the most amazing person I’ve ever seen."
Pei Yang kept rambling, but when he saw Pei Huai had no reaction, he stopped, "Big brother? What’s wrong? What are you thinking about?"
Pei Huai shook his head, "Nothing."
Pei Yang was about to say more when he caught Jiang Ran and Pei Shanshan coming back out of the corner of his eye.
They had gone to buy things, returning with lots of bags.
Seeing this, Pei Yang immediately stood up, "Sister-in-law, let me help you carry that!"
Jiang Ran dodged, "There are watermelons in the car outside, go bring those in."
"You bought watermelons!?"
Pei Yang exclaimed and ran outside.
In the tricycle’s cargo bed, there were two large green watermelons.
It was the season for eating watermelons; they weren’t expensive, were filled with juice, and very sweet, providing a cool and refreshing experience when chilled, making them a household regular.
Pei Yang was just about to carry both watermelons when Pei Huai stopped him, "Greedy much! These two watermelons are so big, what if you drop them?"
Even though a watermelon isn’t worth much, wasting it is shameful.
While speaking, Pei Huai had picked up one watermelon and turned to head inside.
Wang Cuilan didn’t come over today.
Not because Wang Cuilan didn’t want to come, but because the night before, Pei Huai told her he would help at the store, letting her know she didn’t need to come.
There were plenty of things to do at home, and everything couldn’t be left to Pei Baoshan.
With Pei Huai helping at the store, Wang Cuilan felt much more at ease and didn’t insist on coming over.
Jiang Ran sorted the purchased goods properly, handling the meat that needed to be prepped in advance.
After tidying everything up, she meticulously washed her hands and went out to eat watermelon.
Pei Yang was happily munching on a slice of watermelon, and when he saw Jiang Ran come out, he smiled at her, "Sister-in-law, try some quickly, this watermelon is especially sweet today."
Some people love eating particularly sandy textured watermelons.
They say sandy watermelons taste soft and luscious with a great mouthfeel.
But Jiang Ran doesn’t like them.
Jiang Ran prefers crunchy watermelons.
When buying watermelons, she would specifically ask if they had a sandy texture.
This watermelon did not have a sandy texture.
Once cut open, the flesh of the watermelon was translucent, the surface smooth, and it was cut very neatly, with distinct edges.
Even before taking a bite, Jiang Ran was already smiling.
Jiang Ran thought she might be a bit obsessive-compulsive.
