Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom-Chapter 279: You Were Kidnapped
"Looking for me? Who is it?"
Jiang Ran said as she looked over there.
At this moment, an elderly man with gray hair stepped out from behind Aunt Wang.
Upon seeing the man’s face, Jiang Ran recognized who he was.
It’s Jiang Zhi.
Although she always knew Jiang Zhi was coming, Jiang Ran hadn’t expected him to arrive so quickly.
Jiang Zhi was wearing a light gray Mao suit, his hair yellow-gray yet meticulously combed, his age advanced but his back was still straight.
His body was old, but his spirit was not.
While Jiang Ran was staring at Jiang Zhi, Jiang Zhi was also looking at Jiang Ran.
Their eyes met, and it was unclear how much time had passed before Jiang Ran spoke first.
"Since you’re a guest, let’s talk inside."
Jiang Zhi nodded and walked over.
As he approached, Jiang Ran noticed he was carrying boxes in both hands.
Two rattan boxes of the same size, presumably containing his luggage.
Before Jiang Zhi reached them, Pei Huai had already come up to him, "Let me take those!"
Jiang Zhi glanced at Pei Huai and handed the boxes to him, "Thank you."
Having entered the yard, Wang Cuilan walked beside Jiang Ran, softly saying to Jiang Ran, "Ranran, this is..."
Wang Cuilan didn’t finish her sentence, but Jiang Ran knew what she meant.
Jiang Ran nodded, "Yes."
Hearing Jiang Ran’s response, Wang Cuilan became even more nervous, frequently glancing back at Jiang Zhi and quickly averting her gaze for fear of being caught.
Watching Wang Cuilan’s actions, Jiang Ran felt like laughing, yet also a bit pained.
Lightly patting Wang Cuilan’s shoulder, Jiang Ran softly reassured her, "Mom, it’s okay, you don’t have to be so nervous."
"I’m not nervous, not nervous."
Wang Cuilan said while waving her hand, her brow still furrowed.
Seeing her like this, Yu Qiqi understood that a few words wouldn’t comfort her, so she said no more.
After entering the yard, Wang Cuilan held onto Pei Shanshan, Pei Jing, and Pei Yang, not following them into the main room.
Pei Huai, however, went inside, still carrying Jiang Zhi’s two rattan boxes.
In the main room, Jiang Ran invited Jiang Zhi to sit on the sofa, but she didn’t sit down immediately, instead going to fetch the kettle to pour them both a cup of hot water.
After doing all this, Jiang Ran finally sat on the other sofa, directly facing Jiang Zhi.
A rectangular coffee table separated them, making the distance quite significant.
Jiang Zhi glanced at the coffee table before lifting his head to look at Jiang Ran on the other side, "Your name is Jiang Ran."
His tone was not inquisitive but statement-like.
Jiang Ran nodded slightly, "Yes."
"You were abducted."
"Maybe, I don’t remember clearly."
It was so many years ago, plus it was the original person’s experience, and she only knew about it from the original person’s memories, without knowing the specifics.
Jiang Zhi wasn’t surprised at all by Jiang Ran’s response.
"Why not go to beishi?"
Jiang Ran smiled, "I didn’t say I wouldn’t go, it’s just that there are a lot of things going on now. When the opportunity arises, won’t meeting be the same?"
Jiang Zhi’s face was expressionless, giving no clue about his thoughts.
After Jiang Ran spoke, Jiang Zhi’s face finally showed a hint of another expression.
