Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom-Chapter 28: All the Money’s in the Box
They were so busy that they barely stopped.
At first, it was mostly adults or older people buying buns and porridge.
Later, it was mostly students.
It wasn’t until daylight that all their buns and porridge were sold out.
With everything sold, the three of them finally breathed a sigh of relief. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
They had been so busy that all three hadn’t even had a sip of water, let alone eat.
Despite being tired and hungry, Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang were both excited, their eyes fixed on Jiang Ran.
They obviously had questions but didn’t open their mouths; their eager-to-speak-yet-hesitant expressions made Jiang Ran want to laugh.
Jiang Ran took a bamboo tray from the drawer of the table, and there were three buns on it.
The buns had gone cold, so Jiang Ran opened the steamer basket and put them in.
"I set these aside earlier; let’s heat them up to fill our stomachs a bit. We’ll have a proper meal when we get home."
Selling buns all morning and seeing the excited expressions of those eating them, Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang were really curious about how they tasted.
But they knew this was business for earning money, so even if they wanted to taste, they didn’t say anything.
They didn’t expect, however, that Jiang Ran would set aside three buns.
In the steamer basket, steam was still rising. The buns were warm in no time, and when they held them, they were still a bit hot to the touch.
With one bite, the mouth was filled with the fragrance of meat, a satisfaction incomparable to anything else they had eaten before.
The buns Jiang Ran made were large, each the size of an adult man’s fist.
But after a busy morning, the three had quite an appetite, so one bun each was just about enough to slightly fill up.
Smacking her lips as if savoring, Pei Shanshan gave Jiang Ran a big smile, "Really tasty."
Jiang Ran nodded in agreement, "Indeed, very tasty."
Perhaps it was an illusion, but Jiang Ran felt that her cooking skills seemed to have changed a bit.
The food was still delicious, but after tasting it, it gave an added sense of satisfaction and happiness.
However, this thought just flashed in her mind briefly and was pushed aside by Jiang Ran.
These things weren’t important; what was important was that they needed to pack up and head home.
The fire in the stove was out, so they loaded everything onto the cart and hurried back home.
Luckily, each of them had a bun, so they had the energy to make it home.
Just as they reached the gate, Wang Cuilan came out of the yard to greet them.
Seeing the three of them return safe and sound, Wang Cuilan breathed a big sigh of relief, "It’s good you’re back, it’s good you’re back."
Pei Shanshan excitedly ran forward and hugged Wang Cuilan’s arm, "Mom, today we sold all the buns and porridge that we had prepared!"
"Sold out, good. Sold out, good. Sold out... Sold out?"
Wang Cuilan’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Pei Shanshan, "Did you really sell them all?"
"Of course! Would I lie to you? The money is... in the box!"
Pei Shanshan said, glancing at Jiang Ran.
What’s the happiest thing after finishing business and returning home?
Of course, it’s counting money.
Although Jiang Ran hadn’t done business before, she understood this.
She shook the box in her arms and said to everyone in the yard, "Let’s go, into the house!"
Everyone followed Jiang Ran into the house and sat around the table.
