Chapter 99: Edict

"I have a plan." Mo Chenxuan said, his lips curled in a mysterious smile.

Seeing the smile, Qin Wu raised an eyebrow in question.

However, Mo Chenxuan didn’t plan to explain.

"Wu’er, let’s divide tasks." He said instead and quickly continued.

"I will deal with the children while you remove all traces of our presence in this bungalow."

"Okay but..." Qin Wu frowned but soon continued.

"Burn the bodies?"

"No." Mo Chenxuan shook his head.

"Leave the bodies. Including the zombie corpse."

Although she didn’t know what Mo Chenxuan was planning, Qin Wu trusted him so she didn’t hesitate.

Soon after, she left to complete her tasks while Mo Chenxuan went to the children’s room.

At this time, all eight children were asleep.

However, they were frowning, tossing, and turning; as if they couldn’t find peace even in their sleep.

"Don’t worry. Everything will be fine when you wake up." Mo Chenxuan whispered, removed a sofa from his storage space and sat cross-legged.

A moment later, he closed his eyes and fell into a meditative state.

This state lasted for a little more than an hour.

When he woke up, Qin Wu was sitting beside him, looking at him with curious eyes.

"Is everything done?" He asked and Qin Wu nodded.

"What about you?" She asked.

"Done." Mo Chenxuan said but still didn’t explain.

After collecting the sofa, Mo Chenxuan led Qin Wu out of the room and both went to the sitting room.

"There is one more thing." He said and pulled Qin Wu into the space.

"Wu’er, have you thought of our vigilante’s name?"

"Mmmmmmmh..." Qin Wu fell into thought.

She had indeed thought about names but couldn’t decide on one.

In the end, she looked at Mo Chenxuan with uncertain eyes.

"How about ’night shadows?" She asked.

Mo Chenxuan nodded when he heard the name.

"Good." He said and quickly continued.

"I will carve a jade seal. In the meantime, print a banner, listing Fang Tianlu’s crimes. Since we have decided to do this, we should do it well."

"Can you carve?"

"I am a man of many talents." Mo Chenxuan chuckled and subconsciously rubbed Qin Wu’s hair.

Following that, the two went into the space villa and began working.

While Qin Wu writing a copy and preparing to print a banner, Mo Chenxuan found a good piece of jade and a carving knife.

Time passed in the blink of an eye and before they knew it, it was three hours later.

At this time, Qin Wu appeared beside Mo Chenxuan, holding a big banner in her hand.

"What do you think, is it good?" She asked, showing off her work.

The banner was yellow, two metres long and thirty centimetres wide.

At a glance, it looked an imperial edict from ancient times and Mo Chenxuan couldn’t help but smile at the inference.

"It looks like an imperial edict. Good work." He said.

"I knew you would notice." Qin Wu chuckled.

"The seal is also ready." Mo Chenxuan said, revealing the seal.

The seal was made of light green jade with smooth walls on three sides and carved writing on the fourth.

"What does the writing say?" Qin Wu asked.

"Night shadows. "Mo Chenxuan said and then continued.

"I have also carved a pair of eyes beneath the writing."

"Good idea." Qin Wu praised.

"It’s almost dawn. We need to leave as soon as possible."

A moment later, Qin Wu removed a bottle of red ink from her storage space and Mo Chenxuan used it to wet the jade seal before stamping the yellow banner.

"Perfect." Qin Wu said while nodding in satisfaction.

"Mmh." Mo Chenxuan agreed.

The two left the space soon after.

Barely a minute later, they exited the bungalow, pinned the ’edict’ on the front door and walked to the other side of the street.

Time passed quickly and the base began to wake up.

Less than an hour later, a passerby noticed the ’edict’ and curiously went to read it.

Soon after, the person rushed away, attracting several others to also read.

In the blink of an eye, more than a dozen people gathered at the bungalow’s front door.

"What’s going on?" A passerby asked, looking at the bungalow in curiosity.

"I don’t know. There seems to be something pinned on the front door." Another said.

"Who has the time to do this kind of thing?"

"Who cares?! I want to know what is going on."

After saying that, the person rushed to the front door and others followed.

"Night shadows? Who are they?"

"Is that what matters?"

"Do you think what’s written here is true?"

"How can it be true? Can someone dare to do such things that go against morality?"

"What’s morality in the apocalypse?"

"I don’t think it’s true."

"Why do you say that?"

"How did the Fang family’s young master get infected and how did an infected person get into the base?"

"The Fang family is a major family. Do you think it doesn’t have the power to smuggle an infected person into the base?"

"Is this really true?"

"If it’s true..."

"The Fang family has endangered the base for personal reasons." Someone angrily said.

"This..." Another muttered but didn’t know what to say.

"Don’t speak recklessly." Another cautioned.

"Did I say something wrong?"

"Even if you are not wrong..., can you say whatever you want? The Fang family is a major family. Do you want to stay in the base?"

"I still don’t believe it." Someone argued.

"Won’t we know when we open the door?"

"Open the door..., do you dare?"

"Why don’t I dare?"

"Who are the ’Night Shadows’? Do you know them? What if they lied? What if you open the door and a zombie attacks you?"

Several people were horrified when they heard this.

Although they were curious, they didn’t dare to joke with their lives.

Thinking this way, the crowd retreated from the door but didn’t leave the area.

"What should we do?"

"What can we do?" Someone sneered and quickly continued.

"It’s best to call the base police."
