Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Unknown Man

It did not take long before Gao Yang walked into the room.

"How is she?" Xin Yan asked.

"She is fine now, she is stable and yes, the doctor did say it was as a result of an allergy, he said something about how she should stay away from dates," Gao Yang gave them the feedback of what the doctor had said.

Xin Yan and Li Qiang exchanged glances while Li Chuxi was worried, and it was evident with the way she bit her fingernails.

"Uncle Yang, can I go see her?" Li Chuxi asked. She wanted to know how her sister was faring at the moment.

Gao Yang looked at Li Qiang, who gave him a nod of confirmation.

"Come on Chuxi, let’s go see her," Gao Yang said to her and they both walked out.

"Will you be able to recall?" Xin Yan asked with a worried gaze as she looked at him, her face drawn into a long frown.

"It is fine, there is a specialist doctor who can help me get back my memories, I will be fine, you do not need to be worried about me," he said to her with a smile.

"Who is worried about you? I just don’t want to be a widow at a young age," she said with a stubborn look.

"Is that so?" He asked while staring straight into her eyes.

She avoided his eyes because what she said earlier on was a lie. She was worried about him, and they were both aware of it.

"I will not bug you anymore," he said, and one could hear the disappointment laced in his voice.

"I was worried about you, apprehensive, when I got the news from Gao Yang, I was scared, and I could only rush to the hospital, I even have numerous tickets from the traffic officer," she confessed and he shook his head.

"It is fine, I was just teasing you, you do not need to justify what you said," he said to her, and she nodded with a small smile.

Meanwhile, Gao Yang led Li Chuxi to the ward.

"I hope it is not too much of a hassle to let you wait outside?" Li Chuxi asked. She wanted to have a word with her little sister, and she did not what Gao Yang to find out.

Gao Yang did not think too much of it as he nodded. The girl gave him a grateful smile before walking into the ward.

There, she met Meimei on the bed. But she was not asleep, she was only looking up to the ceiling.

"Meimei," she called softly, and the little girl snapped her head towards Li Chuxi.

"Xiaomi," Meimei called as her eyes stung with unshed tears.

"Shh, someone is outside," she cautioned as she took slow steps towards her.

"Didn’t you see the dates present in the food? See, your whole body is full of rashes, no man will want you after," Li Chuxi chastised her immediately.

"Xiaomi, I missed you," Meimei cried. Her sister could have criticized her for showing up in front of their dad, but she did not, instead, she made a joke but she, Meimei was not in the mood to laugh.

"I know, are you fine now?" She inquired. Li Chuxi has always been the smart and mature one.

"Sister, why did you not scream at me? I have done something wrong, but you didn’t say anything, I am scared of your silent self," Meimei who had already sat up questioned Li Chuxi who sighed.

"Meimei, it’s not your fault, I know Uncle Zheng was the reason you did, he coerced you into doing it, but look at the bright side, dad might regain his memories soon, so it is still a win-win," Li Chuxi would never blame her sister.

"Still, I am sorry, I must have done something you did not like, now, both dad and I are in the hospital," Meimei lowered her head, while doing a self-reflection.

Li Chuxi sighed. How was she to convince her? They might be of the same age, but honestly, they were miles apart in terms of intellect.

Meimei was also smart, but Li Chuxi got her brilliance from Li Qiang.

"You sure you are not angry with me?" Meimei was curious to know.

"I am really not angry, I will ask dad and mom to let you stay with us, I know they will not mind, once dad regains his memories, he will be happy to find us," Li Chuxi was already fantasizing about that particular day, but she had miscalculated something.

"But there is a tiny problem, dad, and mom only know about us when we were still kids, there could be an issue," Meimei spoke up.

Li Chuxi frowned as she paced around the ward. What Meimei had pointed out was the truth. What if they don’t believe.

"We will think about that later, for now, you focus on recovering, that is the main aim, just get well," Li Chuxi came to stand beside her bed as she patted her on the head.

"Wil you leave? I am scared," Meimei sounded frightened while holding Li Chuxi’s hands as she was about leaving.

"There, there, I will stay with you," Li Chuxi could not bear to leave her, so she climbed into the bed, taking a position beside her.

Meanwhile, in a very dark building, a man was seated, shrouded in the darkness as he listened to the reports his subordinates decided to give him.

"So you are saying the kids are with their parents and Li Qiang is close to regaining his memories, is that what you are trying to say?" The man asked, his voice calm, but one could hear the pressure and power that voice held.

The subordinate cowered in fear. He hated to be the one to bring such news to his master but because he was new, he could only listen to the seniors.

"Why do you people keep on bringing bad news to me and not the news I want?" The master yelled, causing the subordinate to flinch.

There it was, the explosive anger of his master.

"It seems it was time I showed myself to them since my subordinates proves they cannot solve it," he sounded quite twisted and with each word he spoke, the more the heartbeat of his subordinate spiked.

"Out!" He suddenly pointed to the door and the subordinate quickly dashed out of the room, he had been saved.
