Reborn As A Doomsday Villainess-Chapter 92: How’s the herb farm going?
Chapter 92: How’s the herb farm going?
Qingran opened the fridge, pulling out a carton of milk while eyeing Lingquan, who sat expectantly by the counter, tail flicking. "You really are just a cat, huh?"
[Excuse you. I’m an advanced system with a wealth of knowledge and—]
She poured the milk into a small dish and placed it in front of him.
Lingquan instantly shut up and started lapping it up.
"That’s what I thought."
Leaving him to his drink, she leaned against the counter, sipping on a protein shake. Her eyes drifted to the kitchen clock. If Haoyu was out on his morning workout, he’d be back soon.
Now that she thought about it again, Haoyu had a survival guide system, so he wouldn’t need her training plan, he’s got his system to draft one out for him.
She would curate one for the people without systems on her list.
As opened the fridge, she would just make congee today, Haoyu could have that as well when he returned.
Qingran pulled out a container of leftover rice and set it on the counter. She filled a pot with water, dropping the rice in before turning on the stove. Simple, easy, and enough to fill their stomachs without much effort.
Lingquan, having finished his milk, hopped onto the counter and curled his tail around his paws. [You’re playing house now? Shouldn’t you be drafting those training plans?]
"I can multitask."
[Sure, sure. I’m just saying, you seem unusually... domestic today.]
Qingran rolled her eyes and grabbed a knife to chop some green onions. "If I’m gonna throw people into hell, the least I can do is make sure they eat well before it starts."
[Ah, so it’s the ’last meal before the apocalypse’ kind of thing?]
"Something like that."
The scent of simmering rice filled the kitchen as she worked, adding a bit of ginger and seasoning. Her mind, however, was elsewhere—running through the list of names she had compiled.
The people she could trust. The ones who had the best chance of surviving.
The front door opened, and right on cue, Haoyu stepped inside, towel draped over his neck. He paused, sniffing the air before giving her a surprised look. "You’re home?"
"..."
"I did tell you over the phone that I was coming home didn’t I? The apocalypse countdown is -16, we don’t have much, so I took a peace from work to start preparing in advance."
"Alright, I understand. What are you going to do with your time?"
"It’s a lot of things I want to do. You just focus on your training.."
"Mhm.. got it.."
Qingran ladled the congee into a bowl and set it in front of Haoyu before grabbing one for herself. She sat across from him, stirring her spoon through the steaming rice porridge.
She stared at her phone silently, wasn’t Feng Yizhou going to send her any messages of some sort.
Was he going to leave her with that stupid note? She bite her cheeks as she forced the thought out of her head.
He could do whatever he wanted. frёewebηovel.cѳm
It wasn’t her business, her mind went back to Tzang Yichen, today was supposed to their meeting for the dna test, but it was by 3pm.
She would change her clothes and start working on a training plan for Anya and the others.
For Yuxi, Ren and Zhen, she would use the baseball bat training method, work on their reflexes and instincts.
For Anya, she already has sharp reflexes, she just needed to teach her mind how to handle these high stakes situations.
For as Bai Shiyue and Tzang Yichen, he probably knew how to use a gun and for Shiyue, she would give her a gun for protection.
Feng Yizhou could take care of himself, so could she and with that leave Guo Wen.
Now that she thought about, acid could probably kill the zombies straight up, she would create some chemicals themed weapons, these would be more suited for someone like Guo Wen.
Now that she remembered, she had 50k points, she could buy a lot of things from the system store and also upgraded the automated herb farm.
"Lingquan, the herb farm how’s it going?"
[Ding! Excellent timing, the medicinal herbs plus one food crop:garlic, has completed the growing process. Would you like to move them to system warehouse?]
"Yeah, move them," Qingran said, setting her spoon down. "How much was harvested?"
[Ding! Current yield—Medicinal Herbs: 15 bundles. Garlic: 20 heads.]
Not bad for a starter pack. She could use the medicinal herbs to refine some basic antidotes and stamina medicine. As for the garlic, it wasn’t much, but it was better than nothing.
Garlic had natural antibacterial properties, and if worst came to worst, it could also be used as a weak insect repellent.
"How long until the next harvest?"
[With the current level of automation, three days.]
Qingran tapped her fingers against the table. "Upgrade it. Prioritize yield increase."
[Ding! 2,000 points deducted. Automated Herb Farm upgraded to Level 2. Growth cycle reduced to 1.5 days. Yield doubled. Your point balance is 48,200 points.]
Qingran nodded, she still had enough to buy more for system store.
"Lingquan pull up the system store."
[Ding! Got it, give me a minute to upgrade the list.]
Qingran finished the congee as she carried the bowl to the sink to wash.
There she heard Haoyu say "Sister Qingran what’s your relationship with that man?"
"Nothing, we have no relationship.."
".."
"You’re only lying to yourself, he was this close to killing me.." he pinched his fingers showing her how close Feng Yizhou was to killing him.
"And you say there’s nothing between you two?"
Qingran sighed, leaning against the counter "Cause there’s nothing between us, we’re just partners at best. So don’t ask me any more silly questions.."
Haoyu raised his hands in defeat, he would let her stay in her delusions.
"Maybe you don’t notice it, his eyes are always on you, maybe he teases you a lot but he likes you a lot as well. A man like him wouldn’t waste his time on a woman he didn’t like.."
