Chapter 265: An Interview

A few days later, David sat inside a white room in the police building.

A table separated him from a female police officer in a neat dark green police uniform who sat opposite him.

"David, are you ready?"

David sat straighter on the chair, then he nodded.

CLICK!

The camera turned on and the interview started.

"What is Cabin D World?"

David answered immediately. "On official channels, they say Cabin D World is a network marketing company that uses independent representatives to sell products directly to consumers, often through personal networks rather than traditional retail outlets".

"Participants earn income through personal sales commissions and by recruiting new distributors, creating a ’downline’ that generates further income".

"But those are just flowery words".

"In truth, Cabin D World is a company of the rich that has scammed millions of people around the world and has ruined even more lives, including me".

The female police officer nodded and looked at her book. "When did you first hear of Cabin D World?"

"6 years ago, in my home town in the East. I was invited to a business seminar just like the one a few days ago, and I was convinced by their flowery words".

"As a young broke boy, I was naïve".

"Then, I was 18 years old and was looking for ways to make a living," he revealed a self-deprecating smile. "Which 18 year old wouldn’t want to be a billionaire?"

"Can you tell us about your experience in Cabin D World?"

David adjusted his posture in his chair, his face becoming serious as he took a deep breath, then he started. "In truth, the past 6 years of my life have been hell disguised as perseverance and ambition".

"In my 6 years of experience with Cabin D World, I dedicated all my time and effort to it and I’ve learned the in and out of the company. I learned what it takes to make money in the company, and I realized that I couldn’t do it".

"In Cabin D World, to make money, you have to learn to deceive people and you have to learn to cultivate a heart of stone".

"To be a successful Cabin D World entrepreneur, you have to kill your conscience and empathy for others".

"You have to be wicked".

"To succeed, you have to have the heart to watch people die while showing no remorse, only caring about taking more money from them for products that you know won’t work to help their situation".

"To succeed, you have to knowingly deceive people into selling all of their assets in a false hope of either becoming a billionaire or to purchase miraculous drugs".

"To succeed, you have to deceive your downlines, forcing them into the streets to sell products for you, deceiving them to deceive more people".

The police officer looked at her book. "Leaders in Cabin D World are called uplines, am I right?"

"Yes".

"How do uplines get downlines?"

"Through deep psychology presentations that exploit the mind, through deceit, using flowery words to appeal to the inherent nature of people to want to become rich and healthy".

"Like I told you, I became a distributor at 18".

"To turn us into working slaves that don’t complain, our uplines deceive us with fake love and ambition. They offer to become our father figures and role models, promising us big lives after a few years of working or even a few months".

"At the beginning, they give us money to buy food for those who’re starving and to poor folks like us, that is everything we need to become slaves for money to achieve that life we want".

"We want to be rich just like our uplines, we want to be billionaires".

"Young people are advised by their uplines to leave their home, cut all access to family and face their destiny alone to become billionaires".

"I grew up in the East, I was born and raised there but here I am today, in the Western Biome through my direct upline, Mr. Creed".

"I came here with nothing but ambition".

"Mr. Creed dumped me in a room with 7 others just like me".

"Every day, our only job is to wake up, go out into the city, and do anything possible to get PV".

"Even young people who are in school are advised to leave school, using the dark psychology of school being meaningless".

"According to our uplines, going to school is equal to being a civil servant and being a civil servant is equal to being a civilized slave".

"They teach us to take massive risks to meet PV goals. No risk, no gain".

"I know of other rooms like mine where distributors are kept like luggage. And these are not just boys’ room, there are girls’ rooms too".

"Imagine a girl living the life I lived for the past 6 years".

"These girls are encouraged to leave home and are dumped into the world all because of PV and the false hope of becoming a billionaire".

"I know more than a few of my female colleagues who became rape victims because of this insatiable search for PV".

"As a girl, most people won’t even buy your products unless you offer your body. Besides, the rooms where they sleep are unkempt and some don’t even have toilets, that’s no place for a girl child, yet for PV our leaders do it".

"Some of these girls follow their customers home just to be able to sleep in a nice environment and eat good food, and in the process, they’re raped".

"These are people aspiring to be billionaires".

"They also teach us to be abnormals".

"According to them, being an ’abnormal’ means doing things that normal people normally don’t do in pursuit of our goals".

"They encourage distributors to do abnormal things. I’ve heard an upline tell his female distributors to be abnormal, that if sex is what is needed to get PV, do it without hesitation".

"Normal people won’t do it, and that’s what make them abnormal".

David revealed a sad and hollow smile. "You need 5 pounds as transport fare to get to your destination? Be abnormal, don’t spend, trek to your destination. That’s what it means to be an abnormal".

"They also teach us the technique of manipulating fear to get sales".

"To get sales, you must create fear in people’s minds. Fear of the unknown, fear of ADE corruption".

"Things like if you don’t buy our products, you’re liable to die young".

"Also, to get sales, you must learn to lie with a straight face. You’re suffering heart failure? Lure them in to buy your products. It doesn’t matter if the products work or not so long you get PV".

"When it doesn’t work, gaslight them and tell them it’s because of lack of consistency and convince them to buy more products".

"When your target is broke and wretched, tell him it’s because he can’t continue the treatment that’s why it’s not working".

"In this line of work, you must learn to bury your conscience beneath lies to sell your products. Do anything to sell your products".

"Also, when recruiting distributors, we’re taught certain psychology techniques targeting the poverty status of prospects".

"If you don’t join, you’ll remain poor for life".

David forced a smile as if reminiscing certain memories of his life. "Poor means passing over opportunity repeatedly, while Boss means busy over someone’s success. Be your own Boss".

"Uplines also engage in information hoarding by maintaining a strict schedule for their distributors where distributors don’t get to meet people that’ll discourage them".

"This is why we’re kept in rooms with only other distributors. This way, we can keep being brainwashed and encouraged by our uplines".

David revealed a self-deprecating smile. "This is why I didn’t learn about my parents’ death till it was too late". He chuckled humorlessly.

"And if you give up and decide to leave the company, you become an outcast of the community".

"They label you as a loser who gave up on his dreams to become a billionaire, they call you a fallen eagle".

"All of this piles pressure on you". 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"And by then if you’re resolute enough to leave, you’ll realize that you no longer have any friend or ally. In the cause of giving your all to Cabin D World, you’ll realize that you’ve cut off not just your family but every single important relationship in your life".

"This is why it’s so hard to leave once you enter, it’s like a cult".

The female police officer nodded seriously, then she asked. "What is PV?"

"PV is Points Value, it’s the currency of Cabin D World that determines how much you’ll be paid by the end of the week".

"The more people you can deceive to pay money and buy products or register into the company, the more PV you get".

The police officer nodded thoughtfully, then she asked. "What of Cabin D World’s products? Can you tell us anything about them?"

David took a deep breath. "I never cared to learn too deep about them before because I was in it purely for the money, but in the past few days since being arrested by the police, I’ve done my research".

David looked straight into the camera. "If you don’t want to die, do not patronize Cabin D World’s products".

"They’re effective but flawed bio-medical products with extreme side effects on the long run. And most distributors are guilty of misdiagnosing 90% of the time which in itself is dangerous".

...

While the interview continued, separated by a glass wall, a middle-aged police officer stood alongside a young soldier who radiated an intimidating aura.

The chest badge of the police officer read- [Deputy Commissioner of Police Seth], while the chest badge of the young soldier read- [Major Erik].

"What do you think?" The DCP, Seth asked.

The young Major clicked his tongue. "I don’t get why we can’t just disband this Cabin D World scam once and for all".

Seth immediately revealed a self-deprecating smile. "We can’t".

"Why?" Major Eric was curious.

"Cabin D World is more influential than you think, this is not just about Bill Zefyr. Bill started a global system that just can’t be stopped easily. Apart from him, they have influential uplines, directors, and leaders in all various echoes of the world and in almost all the factions of the world".

"After his interview in Red Meridian today, reports says Bill Zefyr will be going to meet Director-Prime Epsilon himself".

"Do you know what that means?" DPC Seth sighed. "The Omnicore Federation itself is behind him and his company".

"World leaders are secretly either supporting them or tolerating them, so we can’t just erase them when we want".

"Besides, on paper, they’re not breaking any laws so it’s hard to attack them. They have some of the best lawyers in the world working for them too". The middle-aged DCP sighed. "They’re like a thorn that you just can’t remove".

Major Erik frowned. "So we’re just going to let them keep on ruining lives and scamming people all over the world with no consequences?"

The DCP shook his head. "Sometimes, we’re just powerless in the face of certain things".

"Doesn’t that make this the Greatest Scam in history?" Major Erik’s frown deepened. "A scam encompassing the entire world, a scam that created the richest man in the world".

DCP Seth kept quiet.

...

The interview continued for a long time and at the end, once the recording stopped, the police officer took a deep breath and looked at David.

"David, what do you want to do now?"

David revealed a sad smile and shrugged. "What else? Both my parents are dead, I couldn’t even attend their burial all because of Cabin D World".

"I wasted 6 years of my life, for what? Nothing".

"I can’t even bring myself to face my siblings," he laughed a hollow laugh. "All I want is revenge".

"That’s my sole remaining ambition and my life goal".

"If it means dying, I don’t care anymore. I see myself as already dead".

"All I want is the fall of Cabin D World and Bill Zefyr".

The police officer learned forward towards David, then he asked. "David, are you willing to become a soldier of the Freegrid Collective?"

"Can I fight against Cabin D World?"

"Theoretically, yes, but..."

"Yes". David answered immediately. "I don’t care about the buts," he revealed a crazy look on his face. "I just want to have my revenge".
