Reborn as a Transcendent-Chapter 758Book 3: : Arrangements in the City of Chaos
An hour later.
“So that’s how it is. Taiji with qi and Taiji without qi aren’t even the same martial art.” After watching the Taiji Grandmaster’s inheritance video, Yae-hime immediately gained a much deeper understanding of traditional martial arts.
Qi was the true foundation of everything. The outward postures existed only to better channel and release qi. When strength and qi were fused together, they could unleash terrifying power.
“The so-called ‘four ounces to deflect a thousand pounds’ is nothing but an embellished myth. If a force truly weighing a thousand pounds came crashing down… and you didn’t possess enough strength to neutralize it, you would be crushed to death without question.”
She bent down, placed her phone on the floor, and smiled wryly as she spoke. After all, without sufficient strength, one could not even achieve true neutralization of force.
Taiji’s softness was, in truth, built upon a foundation of hardness. Using softness to overcome hardness was merely one way of borrowing strength. One had to ask, how could a weak person possibly use techniques alone to borrow a strong opponent’s power and strike back? That was simply impossible.
As the saying went, sheer strength could suppress all techniques. No matter how many tricks one had, overwhelming power could smash straight through them.
“Taiji places extremely high demands on physical conditioning… it’s a bit different from what I imagined. But thinking about it, that makes sense. This martial art was created by Daoist Sanfeng, a figure revered as both a Martial Saint and an Earthly Immortal. The power of the techniques that survived to this day probably isn’t even one percent of what they were back then. In fact, it’s questionable whether these techniques retained even a trace of their original spirit.”
Yae-hime muttered to herself. Then her arms lowered naturally before slowly rising again. Her movements were gentle, yet they carried an inexplicable sense of force. It felt as though a single palm strike could fell an entire crowd.
From slow to fast, then from fast back to slow, she spent over a minute completing the twelve forms.
“Hah… that was a bit tiring.” She exhaled softly as her hands slowly drew back in.
After finishing this Sanfeng-style Taiji set, she had already mastered the use of qi. Such talent was astonishingly brilliant… no, terrifyingly so. If the Taiji Grandmaster who left behind that inheritance recording were to see this, he would probably kneel on the spot.
Immediately after, Yae-hime went on to learn Chen-style and Li-style Taiji as well, integrating and refining them into a Taiji of her own.
“My talent is kind of ridiculous.” Feeling the flow of qi circulating through her body, Yae-hime murmured to herself. The bloodlines and various attribute points she had gained in the game were now revealing their true value in reality.
Her powerful Talent granted her an unparalleled capacity for comprehension. The bonuses from her various attributes meant that no matter what martial art she learned, she achieved twice the result with half the effort.
“A once-in-a-millennium martial arts prodigy is probably about my level.” She said it calmly, without the slightest ripple of emotion in her heart. After all, her talent had manifested itself far more vividly in the game.
With time still to spare, Yae-hime pressed on without pause, practicing Bajiquan and Bagua Palm. Thanks to her foundation in Taiji, learning these two martial arts was light and effortless. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Before long, she completed her training. Then came repeated practice and refinement to become familiar with them.
Not far away, Little Blue and the five Vera clones stood in place, staring unblinkingly as Yae-hime practiced her forms.
“Master is really amazing,” Vera 18 sighed. She knew very well that her master had not known these techniques prior to this.
“Mm. She’s becoming more and more unfathomable,” Vera 17 nodded. ‘Her talent is so great she scarcely seemed human.’
“Her techniques are becoming increasingly refined. She’s optimizing them!” Vera 1 exclaimed in astonishment. As the earliest clone of Vera, she was naturally well-informed and had some understanding of martial arts.
What Yae-hime was doing now was what one would call refinement. This was something only those extremely familiar with the techniques and possessed of the appropriate talent could accomplish. Yet now, this breathtaking existence was doing it with ease. How could that not shock her?
“A genius… no, this is a monster…” Even Vera 3’s usually indifferent face was filled with shock.
“So this is our master? She’s incredible!” Vera 2 said excitedly, little stars sparkling in her eyes.
“Hehe, of course Master is amazing!” Little Blue floated in midair with her hands on her hips, boasting proudly.
As if hearing their voices, Yae-hime drew her hands back and slowly lowered them, bringing today’s training to an end. In just a little over two hours, she had gained insights that would take other grandmasters an entire lifetime to comprehend. It was a truly bountiful harvest.
“Are you all done eating?” Yae-hime asked as she looked at them.
“Mhm! I’m totally stuffed!” Little Blue replied, streaking over like a bolt of lightning.
The Vera clones hurried forward to follow.
“Look at you. You eat and don’t even wipe your mouth afterward. All greasy and oily.” Catching Little Blue as she flew over, clearly intending to cling to her and rub all over her, Yae-hime scolded her with exasperation.
She then released a trace of qi, neatly cleaning Little Blue’s small mouth.
“Hehe, Master, how did your training go?” The little one laughed carefree and unbothered.
“It was decent.” Yae-hime pinched her tiny nose. “I picked up three pretty good martial arts.”
Hearing this, the Vera clones who had just caught up were all stunned. They had assumed Yae-hime had only learned a single set.
By all logic, mastering even one respectable martial art in such a short time already meant one possessed heaven-defying talent. Using the same amount of time to master three solid martial arts… such an existence would be called a monster.
Before their eyes, this peerlessly beautiful being was precisely that, a thoroughly terrifying monster.
“Master, you’re amazing… ah, I can’t even find the right words. Anyway, totally invincible. Absolutely cracked!” Vera 18 said excitedly.
“Mhm, invincible!” Vera 17 echoed.
Vera 1, 2, and 3 also nodded, their expressions a mix of astonishment and disbelief.
“It’s nothing special.” Yae-hime replied calmly. To her, this was merely normal procedure. It was not something worth boasting about or taking pride in.
“Master is the best!” At that moment, Little Blue wrapped her arms around Yae-hime’s neck and rubbed her cheek against her energetically.
“Alright, stop fooling around.” Yae-hime lifted her off. “I have something serious to discuss with you.”
Hearing this, Little Blue immediately restrained herself, her expression turning solemn. The Vera clones promptly closed their mouths, waiting for Yae-hime to speak. The scene fell quiet, with only the faint sound of the breeze lingering in the air.
“It won’t be long before we return the City of Chaos over there.” Yae-hime went straight to the point. Now that the five Vera sisters were already on her side, there was no harm in letting them know such information.
“Ohhh, so we’re finally about to do something big!” Little Blue floated in midair, clenching her pink fists excitedly.
“That’s right. Before that, we need to repair the City of Chaos. The materials are almost all collected. Once we return to the Saint Demon World, we can immediately begin the repairs. As for where we’ll return to, I’ve already found a suitable location.” Yae-hime said.
“Yay, yay! I finally get a chance to really show what I can do!” Little Blue danced around happily, brimming with excitement.
The five Vera sisters listened to their exchange, their expressions shifting in all sorts of ways. Even though they had long known that Yae-hime and Little Blue were anything but ordinary, they were still deeply shaken by the two of them once again.
