Chapter 117: Ch 117: Roll the Dice- Part 2

The timer started once more, and Andrew gripped the dice in his hand tightly. He rolled it, only to get a 1 in the process.

He moved to the next space, which was safe. But behind him, the snake kept looking at him until it disappeared from his sight.

Once again, he was not the only one on the tile, and the others who entered the tile with him looked at him with an almost nervous expression on their faces.

"E-Excuse me, but can you not push us out of the tile like you did with others?"

Someone gathered their confidence and asked him. The girl likely thought that her looks would work on Andrew. And he had to admit that she was a little cute. Her curly hair framed her face well, and her eyes were clear and shining. She was well put together, even in such a tough time.

However, a nice face was not all it took for Andrew to show mercy. Especially when the situation was as dire as the current one.

So, he only gave a one-word answer back to the female before he deployed his barrier.

"No."

Andrew’s barrier immediately pushed out everyone from around him, and he was the only person left on the block. He waited for a bit before the message for the round clearing came.

[20 Players have been eliminated. Remaining players: 122]

[The Fifth round of rolling dice will start in 3...2...1...]

[The tile space will be reduced to 10’X10’]

The game was starting to get tense. Those who were left were not small fries, and Andrew knew that he would have to be careful.

He looked around for the dice and reached for it at the same time another person did. He was a little later to reach the dice, but due to his barrier covering it, the dice remained safe for him to grab.

"Tsk, what a pain."

The other person complained. But instead of confronting him, they decided to turn toward their friend and steal the dice from them.

Andrew wasted no time in rolling his dice, and a 6 appeared. He walked toward the tile, only for the space to turn red.

[The space you are on has been forcefully turned into a snake tile. Area of the tile has been increased from 10’X10’ back to 25’X25’]

It was a sudden change, and Andrew was lucky he had never taken down his barrier from around himself because not a second later, a heavy body collided with the barrier he was in and tried to knock him off balance.

He kept his composure as well as his balance, but the snake kept trying to break into his barrier and get to him.

It was the same snake from before, and it seemed to be hovering around Andrew with anger in its eyes.

"W-What happened-? Why is the tile like this? It was supposed to be a ladder, right?"

Someone questioned as they walked into the tile space, only to see red all around. The snake turned to look at the new entry for a few seconds before it turned back to Andrew.

He stiffened, waiting to see if the snake would turn its attention away from him, but so far, it did not seem to be the case.

Instead of turning away from him, the monster decided to open its jaws and immediately rushed toward Andrew.

He countered it by raising his own shield, and the two forces collided with each other.

Sparks flew everywhere as the snake kept circling Andrew, and it coiled around his shield in order to try and squeeze him. But the shield held firm, not giving an inch under the assault of the monster.

[Ladder Snake level 22]

The snake was currently two levels below Andrew. It had increased its level from 20, and as more and more people were getting eliminated, it was slowly becoming more powerful.

’Should I try and get rid of it before it becomes a problem for me?’

If this tile had been forcefully converted by the Ladder Snake, then Andrew doubted that any of the future ones would be safe either.

So he grabbed his staff and immediately cast a spell to make the monster let go of him.

The monster flailed a little as the fire burned its skin, but the skin was repaired within seconds in front of Andrew’s eyes.

"Agh, what a hassle..."

Andrew sighed as he watched the skin sew itself together. But he did not miss his chance and attacked again.

The monster opened its fangs, and Andrew launched the attack directly into that open and soft mouth.

The heat caused the monster to let out a cry of pain, and it flailed around a little before settling down and retreating.

Andrew intended to follow it, but the sudden announcement stopped him.

[32 Players have been eliminated. Remaining players: 90]

[The Sixth round of rolling dice will start in 3...2...1...]

The fifth round had ended too quickly, and the real competition was heating up. He immediately dropped his shield and looked around for another dice.

No one tried to fight him when he reached for the dice not too far away from him, and Andrew closed his fist around it.

The dice fit well in his hands, and he rolled it around.

It landed on 4, and he moved toward the next square. This time, Lilianna had ended up on the same square as him.

"You made it this far?"

Andrew asked, and Lilianna nodded with a small grin on her face.

"I told you that I was extremely lucky, right? All I have gotten so far are the ladder spaces, and I have also kept to myself, making other people overlook me. I might make it to the end at this rate."

She looked satisfied with the results, and Andrew felt happy for her. They both stepped into the ladder space, only for it to turn red.

[The space you are on has been forcefully turned into a snake tile. Area of the tile has been increased from 10’X10’ back to 25’X25’]

"W-What is going on?"

Lilianna asked in a shaken voice, and Andrew let out a sigh.

"Someone is being a petty bitch. You don’t have to worry about it."

He told her, and Lilianna nodded.
