Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 43: Ch : An Outing - Part 2
"Tsk, I could have taken those fools. You should not have stopped me from teaching them a lesson. They deserved it all for trying to cause me and Lilianna trouble."
Clara complained as she followed after Andrew. She looked unhappy and disappointed at the outing.
Not only had the prices been extremely high for everything, but she also had been harassed by people and not been allowed to hit them.
"Clara, you are too strong. You would have ended up killing those kids if you had hit them. Do you want someone’s blood on your hands?"
Andrew asked and Clara instantly went quiet.
As much as she liked to complain about it all, she was also too scared to kill a human without having her life on the line. It was hypocritical of her to say this, but she did not want to kill humans unless it was for her own survival.
"Ugh, the price for my strength is my ability to defend myself. What a cursed existence...someone is following us."
Clara instantly became alert the same second Andrew did.
He quickly looked around to see where their stalker was hiding and his vision picked up a screen not too far away.
"Get back-"
Andrew threw up a shield the second something jumped toward him. Their attacker met the shield and immediately bounced back.
It was not a human, and not even an animal anyone had ever seen.
"What the hell is that creature-? Is that thing even real?"
Clara asked as Lilianna quickly tried to find any information online. But there was not much and the internet was slowly being cut off throughout the world as well.
Without people there to maintain it, phone stations were going out of notice and it wouldn’t be long before the system became humans’ only source of connection with each other.
"The internet has nothing. Give me a minute, I will look around in my system-"
A few more shadowy forms appeared just as Lilianna said that and they surrounded the humans. The small forms immediately tried to attack them, but Andrew’s shield held them at bay.
He did not even need to buff himself because these creatures were small. But there were just...too many of them.
"Ugh, who is attacking us out here like this?"
Clara questioned as she looked around. But Andrew was the only one who saw anything but these black creatures around them.
"Clara, use your plants to attack that place. I will hold the shield up in the meantime."
Andrew pointed toward the space where he saw the system window and Clara nodded before she used the plants around her to attack.
Someone let out a pained yelp and the black masses got distracted. Andrew immediately threw the shield down and blasted the monsters away.
Once the black forms cleared, they saw the child...no, creature in front of them.
The creature had taken the form of a child, but it had cracks forming all over the form and the same black mass was escaping its body, threatening to attack them once more.
"Y-You...I will absorb you...and then...return..."
The creature yelled, trying its best to reach the trio.
"Ugh, what the hell is that? Is that a human ability-?"
Clara questioned and Lilianna hovered around Andrew, looking half curious and half worried about what she should do.
Only Andrew was the one who recognized that creature.
"You are...a puppet. How did you end up here? You are too weak to be the new game master."
Andrew asked and the puppet struggled to get up. But due to the constant restraints he was being placed under by Clara, he could not move.
"Ugh, let me go. This is not fair. I was supposed to be the next game master. I will not forgive this insult. I will kill you and prove myself-"
Andrew sighed and cast a spell on the puppet. Due to the weak nature of the puppet, it fell unconscious quickly enough.
"Well, that is one thing taken care of. Ugh, this was starting to get annoying. Clara, catch him. We will bring him back with us for now."
Andrew told her and Clara stiffened.
"Are you sure we should bring him back? He might be dangerous since he’s not human. What if he tries to kill us when we are sleeping or something...?"
Clara asked and Andrew understood her fear.
"Leaving him out here is no better than taking him back. If we keep him under surveillance, then we will still be able to control him. Leaving him out here would allow him to launch another surprise attack on us. Unless, you want to kill him..."
Andrew asked Clara and she suddenly took a step back.
She might have already killed once, but she had not been alone. And that had been a situation out of her control.
The puppet looked human, if not for the cracks on his face and that made it extremely difficult for Clara to kill him.
"I...let’s take him back. I would like to hear what he has to say before I make any decisions."
Clara declared as she sighed and she gave in to Andrew’s words. She knew that this was what he wanted since the start and she just fell into his trap.
"Don’t worry, Clara. We just need to keep the puppet alive until we know how he got here. Who knows...we might find a way to get to the system and put an end to this game once and for all."
Andrew told her and that made Clara instantly feel better.
"Should I check on him once?"
Lilianna asked but Andrew shook his head.
"There is no need to do that. This body is just a shell for the puppet and any danger received to it is not real. For now, we should hurry up and head back. I do want to get some dinner before Nathan ends up eating all of it." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
They quickly hurried back home with the puppet still unconscious. Discovering it had been a big thing, especially if there was a way to find how to cross dimensions.
