Chapter 61: Reclaiming Camp AndâŠ
âWhatâs that about?â
The truth is, there was more than one reason why Roka didnât want him on the ship with them.
There was more than just distrust and caution.
âSoâŠâ Bak pointed behind him. âCan you help unload the rest?â
âThose that I just put inside? Ugh⊠Sheâs still not looking at me! So sheâll let me go inside when itâs to load and unload machines, but I gotta cross by foot otherwise??â
The Paru let out a sigh as he started walking towards the spaceship.
After a couple of steps, he turned around and gestured to the female Granilith.
âWhere do you think youâre going?â Rokaâs tone had a tinge of hostility.
The Paru and the female Granilith stopped, just as they were about to enter the spaceship.
âIsnât it fineâŠ?â Rayaâs gaze moved from them to Roka repeatedly.
âItâs not. Even if we let -Him- in, why would we let that inside?â
âYouâre just mad because she gave you a hug, arenât you?â Jay sneered. âA hug from another female doesnât make you gay, Commander.â
The remark didnât fail to make Raya laugh out loud.
âThereâs no way!! Roka got hugged by a female alien!! Bahahhaa!!â
Kris and Liz held their hands to their mouths, doing their best not to chuckle.
âJust⊠Get it done.â Roka said, remaining stoic.
The Paru took that as a small win.
âLetting us come in and out is already good. Just gotta get them used to us more.â
âŠ
With the machinery that had been left recovered, acquiring fuel became three times faster.
âThey only had a quarter of them left. This probably wonât take too longâŠâ The Paru thought to himself as he walked around the area. âIâm getting bored though. Apart from Wizzos and Graniliths, everything else that I saw was too small. I would need to catch and eat many of them to obtain a Skill. Plus⊠None of them seemed to have an interesting ability.â
The Paru kept walking around aimlessly, and the Worka took it as him patrolling the area.
The female Granilith was seated on a random large rock.
âHey, isnât this⊠Kind of weird?â Liz whispered.
âWhat is?â
âThem being⊠Uh⊠Naked.â
âUmmâŠâ Kris was at a loss for words. âI⊠Donât think itâs-â
âTheyâre fucking aliens.â Jay stared at Liz as if she were the weirdest person in the world. âAre you uncomfortable with aliens being naked? With pets being naked? Whatâs wrong with you?â
âHuh? No, I was just-â
âYouâre a weirdo.â Jay waved dismissively. âI canât wait for this mission to end so I never have to see you again.â He said as he walked away.
âDonât mind him.â Raya took a seat next to Liz. âHe gets off on being a dickhead.â
âRightâŠâ Liz scratched her cheek. âSo you think itâs weird too?â
âHuh?â Raya suddenly looked away. She didnât want them to notice her blushing. âNo. Why would you think that?â
âI donât know⊠I mean, we could give them clothes or something?â
âAre you uncomfortable with seeing a naked alien? Thatâs like seeing a dog. Whatâs wrong with you?â
âNo one asked you, Jay!â
âYes. Fuck off, Jay.â
âTsk. WeirdosâŠâ He muttered before walking further away.
***
Liz couldnât stand around doing nothing.
She was a Soldier, so she felt it was her duty to patrol around the area.
With a shotgun in hand, a rifle on her back, and a gun in the holster belt around her waist, Liz patrolled without getting too close to the forest.
âSeems calm. I guess that⊠Paru, they called him? Really took care of everything around. Iâm glad we found him. AlthoughâŠâ
She took a couple of deep breaths to clear her mind.
Being reminded of the loss of the Tsero Crystal, the object of their mission, was incredibly stressful and anxiety-inducing.
âWeâll figure it out. Definitely.â She nodded to herself as she walked.
The next second, her eyebrows rose, and she focused on the hearing.
âThereâs somethingâŠâ She held the shotgun in her hands tighter. âItâs coming from within the forest. Should be about four dozen steps away. Should I check it out⊠Or leave it?â
Liz debated for a bit, before taking a deep breath in and bracing herself.
âIâll go take a look while moving stealthily. If I find something, Iâll alert the others. I do hope itâs just my imagination.â
Liz walked cautiously. Each of her steps was light and swift, making nearly no noise even though she was walking on crip grass.
âI probably wonât be noticed. But if I am, Iâll shoot right away. If itâs Wizzo, itâll be wounded. If itâs a Granilith, then my shot will, at least, warn the others.â
She hid behind each tree standing in her way.
âIâve already fought Graniliths. Back then, I couldnât damage them since I didnât have the big guns with me. Still, I was able to evade and escape rather easily. I wonât lose in a contest of speed or endurance. If they manage to grab me though, thatâll be troubleâŠâ
Liz took a couple more steps, walking deeper into the forest, before suddenly jumping to the side, hiding behind a thick treeâs trunk.
âItâs getting louder. I can hear those grunts clearly now. Itâs a Granilith. Should I go back to warn them?â
The Soldier debated internally for a bit.
âJudging from the sound, itâs less than two dozen steps away. Within view. I should take a look, in the case that there are multiple-â
Just as Lizâs head started moving to peek from behind the tree,
âMMMMMHAAAA!!â
âWhat isâŠ??â
A long and muffled moan echoed.
And as Liz peeked, what she found made her eyes widen and her bodily temperature increase suddenly.
Rea said earlier: âWith that strong body of yours, you could have all the males for you. They would definitely be at your beck and call If you stopped being such a little bitch.â
Indeed, Liz could have all the Worka males she wanted. But, the truth is, she didnât desire any of them.
