Reborn As Noble-Chapter 1182: Knowledge Without Experience ( )
Garius leaned back in his chair, elbow resting on the armrest, his cheek propped on his knuckle, mumbling softly.
"We’ll see if he’s able to do that. But I doubt he will. He had one chance before, the easiest one, and yet he didn’t take it... even when the fruit of life was right there, glowing and ripe for the taking, he hesitated."
Francesca shook her head.
"It’s because she reminded him of the promise that made him hesitate. You should be thankful that your youngest still thinks of you. It’s all because you kept making promises to the girls you met long ago, promising to marry them."
Garius let out a soft chuckle.
"I didn’t make those promises, you know. You’re the one who suggested it to them." He glanced at her with a subtle, knowing look.
Francesca smiled and glanced at him from the side.
"No~ you did make the promise to them~"
Garius shook his head. "Because you made sure I had no way to refuse and had to make that promise."
Francesca smiled softly and rested her head on Garius’s arm.
"I was just making sure fate for you unfolded as it was meant to."
Garius glanced at Rolland and Sylvia, who were still kneeling.
He leaned back in his chair, his expression stern and serious.
"Remember this, Rolland, Sylvia. Just as I said before, if my youngest son fails to save Gracelle and it hurts him again, I meant every word I said earlier. You two better pray hard that my youngest son can save her. Now, leave."
Rolland and Sylvia slowly stood, taking hesitant steps back before leaving the room with their staff and the butler.
Garius let out a long exhale once the door closed.
"Those two should have thought of everything to save their daughter. Family should be their priority, and they should have sought any means to save her."
Meanwhile.
Gracelle’s room.
Javier stood with both hands clasped behind his back after checking the monitors, pulse readings, IV drip, and Gracelle’s overall condition. He turned his glance when a soft knock came from the door.
"Come in."
The door opened, and Myra stepped inside, followed by two battle maids and two Armand elite guards. They all bowed respectfully toward Javier.
"Your Highness."
"Mm... so, Myra?" Javier glanced at her.
"Yes, Your Majesty?"
"Did Erinette already find a suitable room for the operation?"
"About that, Your Highness..." Myra began. "It’s best if you meet His Majesty. He told me to inform you that he wishes to see you now."
Javier nodded. "Mm." He glanced at the elite guards standing behind Myra. "Garak, Marcor."
"Yes, Your Highness." The guards stood straight and saluted.
"You two make sure to guard the door and ensure no one enters this room except Armand personnel and my family."
"As you command, Your Highness." Garak and Marcor saluted before moving to guard outside the room.
He then glanced at the two battle maids behind Myra. "Lyphia, Terisa, you two assist Myra. Monitor the patient’s condition and safeguard the area inside."
"As you wish, Your Highness." They bowed gracefully.
He turned his gaze back to Myra and tapped his ear. "Myra?"
"Yes, Your Highness?" Myra glanced up at him.
"Ensure the mana talkie is always with you and contact me if anything happens. Be ready to activate your healing skills if the machines give any warning signals." He gestured toward the monitoring equipment.
"As you command, Your Highness." Myra gave him a graceful bow as Javier started walking toward the door. He paused and glanced back at her.
"Myra?"
"Yes, Your Highness?" Myra turned and looked at him.
"Have you seen Liana on your way here?"
Myra smiled and nodded. "I did, Your Highness. It’s easy to spot her when two of your caliber knights are escorting her."
Javier let out a soft chuckle and shook his head. "So where is she?"
"I believe she was with your other future wives, Your Highness."
"Mm..." Javier nodded and placed his hand on the doorknob. "Ensure no one goes inside. And did you already inform your team, Myra?"
"Yes, Your Highness. I already informed them. They’re both on standby. Do you need me to call them to come here?" Myra raised her finger to the mana talkie in her ear.
"Ah... no need. It’s best if we preserve their stamina and mana for now. I’m going."
"Understood, Your Highness." Myra responded gracefully, bowing once more.
While walking down the hallway, both hands tucked in his pockets, Javier glanced at the ornate walls and high ceilings of the Mathrias estate.
I wonder if I can really perform surgery and an operation.
I was in the military for three years before working for a company after my contract ended. I enlisted as a combat medic, trained at the Medical Service School, and completed on-the-job and advanced courses during my remaining years.
But I’ve never once performed real surgery. I’m not even a doctor.
I trained heavily in Tactical Combat Casualty Care, but I never continued. Perhaps because of time constraints, and after my contract ended, I chose to work as a salaryman instead of pursuing further medical training.
He let out a quiet sigh, his steps slowing slightly as he wrestled with doubt.
The only thing I have is knowledge.
Perhaps that’s why it’s so easy for me in this world.
Since I love knowledge. I love reading. Reading gives me understanding, perspective, and the ability to connect ideas across different fields.
The reason I understand technology and can combine it with magic in this world is because I’m the only one with knowledge of science and engineering. Magic in this world is advanced in its own way, but it lacks the systematic principles of physics and chemistry.
With the freedom and free time I had during my childhood, I learned a lot, researched endlessly, and had fun exploring the possibilities of magic and invention. I became almost obsessed with understanding magic, especially with the unique ability to create and craft using my imagination, knowledge and available materials.
But still...
Performing surgery is a different thing.
And no one here has ever done it or has any knowledge of cutting open a body and using healing magic to operate.
Will I be able to do it?
What if something goes wrong?
All I have is knowledge.
Not experience, not skill.
