Reborn Financier-Chapter 22: Demon’s Money, No it Mine
Three days later, during the afternoon when the sun was at its peak and the city was at its busiest, the queen of the kingdom and the only wife of King Edward, Queen Charlotte, recommended that the kids, especially Kaidën, go for a tour of the capital, as it wasn’t every day that one could come to the capital.
The king immediately agreed to the idea in order to continue the plan for Lord Alric’s downfall without having to worry too much about the kids. There was a large smile on his face as a major burden had been lifted.
"Okay, Your Highness, I will immediately prepare the kids," Queen Charlotte said. "I’m sure they would be really excited to finally leave the walls of the castle."
As she turned to take her leave, Sofia spoke up, her face filled with curiosity. "Edward, why are you so happy compared to the kids? It seems like you are the one actually being taken for a tour compared to the kids."
Edward chuckled, a glowing smile on his face. "Hahaha, Sofia my sister, now that the kids are gone, I don’t have to worry about the children anymore. At the very least, I would be able to complete our plans with their absence." If excitement was a person, it would have been the king at that moment.

Knock! Knock! "
Young Master, it is I, Steven. Sorry for disturbing your rest, but I have a message to deliver. Can you please permit my intrusion?" Steven said, his voice a mixture of respect and anxiety.
Kaidën responded, "Steven, what’s making you anxious? Quick, come in and share your message."
Steven proceeded as instructed, bowing first before speaking. "Young Master, the queen and the king have planned a tour of the capital for you and the kids. It is expected to take 5 days, as you would be spending most of your nights at inns..."
Steven’s anxiety level erupted as he continued. "And I have bad news, Young Master."
"Bad news, go on," Kaidën said, laying up from the bed and sitting upright. He was curious about what could be so bad that it would make the well-composed Steven break his cool.
"Yes, Young Master, Lord Alric. He is not as simple as I thought," Steven said. "After doing some research on him, he seems to have some deep connection to the demon. Even though the plan you drafted was actually foolproof and seems to be working without any drawbacks, the only problem is that with his connections to the demon world, he is not alone anymore. That means we’re fighting with the demons."
Kaidën’s expression changed as he listened to Steven’s words. "Demons, so that’s why you were afraid. Okay, they might actually be a problem if they are as strong as written in the ancient books and all. Hmmm, what can we do? What can we do? Looks like I would have to intervene."
Steven’s eyes were filled with determination and fear. "Young Master, the demons are stronger than you think. Their strength ranges from the lowest foot soldiers to the leader of all demons, the demon god. Not even the best knights on the entire continent are even half as strong as the demon god. Young Master, please don’t underestimate them."
Kaidën seemed relaxed and didn’t think too much about the demons. "Okay, okay, I understand. They are strong, strong, strong, strong. So just relax..." He was exhausted by Steven’s constant lamentation. "...You may excuse yourself. I want to start getting ready for the tour."
"Okay, Young Master. I will take my leave," Steven responded, bowing and then leaving the room of the young master.
"He is finally gone. I can finally think. Demons, right? I hope they are actually as strong as they are said to be and hopefully they won’t be a disappointment," Kaidën said, relaxed on the bed with his legs crossed.

Due to the size of the capital, the tour was expected to take about 5 days, with nights spent at city inns. The sun was about to set when the kids and the princess were about to leave the castle gates, headed for an inn in the city where they would remain for the 5 days.
In order not to draw too much attention to themselves, they were going to be disguised as average commoners, without anything noticeable. "Why do I have to wear these cheap, commoner clothes?" Princess Elizabeth murmured in anger. She was clearly upset about living as a commoner.
Kaidën thought to himself that she was just a regular rich kid with a golden spoon from birth and didn’t know much about how the world runs. Unlike the bratty princess, the prince was well-composed. Instead of feeling indifferent or angry, he showed signs of excitement.
"Steven, prepare the carriage and remember to protect the queen and the kids," King Edward said to Steven and the two other knights in commoner clothes who were with him. "Due to the fact that they are disguised, they can’t have too many knights around them, so protect them with your life."
"Kaidën, remember not to take off the blindfold and always remain calm. Try to stay next to Steven or the other knights as much as possible," Kaidën’s mom, Sofia, said with heartfelt motherly love.
"...Let’s set out," the coachman said, who was to ride the carriage, a simple-looking carriage that was neither too dull nor too flashy.
An adventure was about to begin. It was Kaidën’s first time in the capital. Would it be the last?
