Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 132: Flowers for her
"You wanted to talk to King Cyrus." Fabian walked ahead and spoke to Dominic, catching his attention as the man faced the map of their kingdom.
Dominic turned around, a calm and calculated smile on his face as he looked at Cyrus.
"Tomorrow is the King trials," He said.
Cyrus just looked at the man, not reacting to his words. His head was going on about how to use that rogue and what they found out against him.
He wanted to confront the man tonight, but would it be any fun when he could do this before the entire kingdom’s people?
Even the image of how Dominic’s face would turn red from embarrassment was enough to satisfy him.
Seeing Cyrus not saying anything, Dominic cleared his throat.
"I just came to wish you well. I am sure your father, Sebastian, my brother, would’ve been proud of you," Dominic said.
He deliberately mentioned Cyrus’s father. After all, it was a sore spot for him. Even Cyrus believed that Dominic had something to do with his father’s untimely and unnatural death.
He raised his brows at the man before smiling, a bone-chilling smile.
"For someone who has come here without any armor or backup, you are quite confident, Uncle Dominic," Cyrus said, raising his eyes to meet the man’s gaze, whose smile froze.
"Well, I know you won’t try anything on me, not before the king trials," Dominic said smugly.
He expected Cyrus to agree with him.
However, what he didn’t expect was for Cyrus to chuckle darkly at his words. The way his eyes shone bright blue before turning completely dark only indicated one thing.
Cyrus could communicate with his beast, with his wolf. And if that was true, and the man turned into his wolf form...
No. That couldn’t be possible. From his birth, he ensured that Cyrus received the magical decoction to keep his wolf hidden inside him and never come out.
There was no way that wolf would show up. His son would definitely win when he turned into his powerful wolf.
Since Cyrus wouldn’t change into his wolf form, he wouldn’t be able to win against his son.
Dominic tried to reason with himself.
"The trials would proceed as they were meant to be. But do we need you for that? I bet I can throw you in the dungeon and no one would give two shits about where you went. Everyone is so focused on the trials," Cyrus said.
His words made Dominic’s smile waver a little.
"You wouldn’t dare," He said.
Cyrus sniggered. His eyes were an accurate depiction of evilness in that moment.
"Uncle, I think you have mistaken me for my naive father, who always kept family values above his interests. Haven’t you figured it out yet? I am nothing like him," Cyrus said.
He stood from his seat before walking towards Dominic in slow yet powerful strides.
"Would you like to test it?" He asked while walking.
Seeing his dark eyes, Dominic stood from his place abruptly and cleared his throat.
"I just wanted to wish you well and warn you that if you can’t fight against my son, don’t try too hard. I don’t want my brother’s legacy to end on some trials," Dominic said before he quickly turned and left.
Once the man was out of sight and Ronin confirmed he was out of their estate, Cyrus relaxed.
Fabian looked at his King in confusion. He thought they were about to confront the man about the rogues, but why didn’t the man make a move?
"Prepare all the evidence against Dominic. If I confront him now or before the family, like a slime, he will find his way out. Let’s display the video of the evidence of his corruption along with my victory," Cyrus said.
Fabian understood his King’s attention, and his eyes beamed with excitement.
He couldn’t wait to see the man’s angered face. How dare he threaten their king like this and say their legacy would end here? He was surely acting too wishful.
"I will surely do so," Fabian said and was about to leave when he received a message from the spy that he kept around their princess, just to inform them of any significant events.
The Princess was attacked once again while working in the laboratory. Attacked with an arrow. Her back probably got hurt by the glass Shards.
Fabian read the message repeatedly, contemplating whether to tell their king.
Why didn’t the princess call them about it? Was it because it wasn’t serious? Or was it because she didn’t want to distract their King?
Should he do the same?
But she was a part of the family, at least until the results of the Queen trials.
"Sir, the princess got attacked," Fabian said.
Cyrus turned to him and looked at the message that his subordinate showed.
"How many times has it been already?" He wondered to himself.
"An attack for an attack. I am done being patient," Cyrus said.
Fabian’s pupils dilated at the King’s words.
Did he mean they were supposed to attack Dominic? But right before the King trials? It will spark controversy, and everyone will blame them.
"But sir..."
"I’ll narrate this attack myself. I have been feeling a little bored lately," Cyrus said.
He exited his office and went straight to his car, urging Trevor to start it already. He closed his eyes, his brows knitted close.
’Why would you not call me, Amelia? Why do you never tell me anything? I know you are under the impression that I hate healers, but if that were the same case with you, too, your mark wouldn’t be resting on my neck. Is it too hard to understand?’
Cyrus sighed, a soft smile appearing on his face as he remembered her words of always protecting him.
His wife was a cute little thing. As much as he hated his heart for falling for something like that, blaming the mark on his neck for his sudden changes of emotions, for some reason, his brain hasn’t been able to find one reason to hate their wife.
Now that he knew this wife was probably innocent in everything, a bit too innocent for this world, he just wanted to protect her, and for that, he would take his first step in the very evening.
An attack for an attack.
He sighed, keeping his eyes closed, remembering all the good moments he enjoyed with his wife, how cute she was, and how naive she acted around him even when he knew how cunning she could be sometimes.
If only he could tell her that she was a desert Rose and he was intending to ensure that she was well taken care of.
This reminded him that he still didn’t know what her favourite flower was. Has he ever given her any flowers? Aren’t husbands supposed to do that?
Could it be the reason why she believes that he didn’t want her?
So the fault was in his actions, too.
He nodded to himself before clearing his throat.
"Stop by a flower shop," He said.
Trevor, who was driving with his head full of the results the next day that would change their destiny for good or bad, immediately swerved the car’s wheel when he lost his balance.
Stopping the car abruptly, he looked back at his King with wide eyes.
"I think I misheard you, sir," he said.
Didn’t his King hate flowers because their mother used to like them, as said by the former Alpha King?
"You heard me right. Stop by a flower shop," Cyrus seethed again, suddenly irritated at his subordinate’s actions.
Why was he acting like that? He wasn’t a monster. Can he not buy flowers?
The thought made him pout inwardly, and Sylas chuckled loudly in his head.
’You are a fool,’ Sylas said, dampening Cyrus’s mood even more.
