Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 176: Lilithia’s mistake
Kyle kicked the chair beside him, his eyes burning with anger.
"Please tell me it’s not the same girl that you traded your life for," he said, his rage evident in his aura.
Amelia sighed.
"She will pay for it," Cyrus assured Amelia.
"Just pay? I’ll fucking kill that vile girl. Today she attacked her so lethally from behind, what if she tries to stab her from behind next time? The spawn of that devil should die. Or they’ll turn out just like him," Kyle said.
Cyrus thinned his lips. He knew what Kyle was talking about. First, it was Patrick who unexpectedly used those venom-laced weapons on him during the duel, and now Lilithia dared to attack Amelia.
His cousins were turning their backs on family and plotting, just like their father, and probably their mother.
He looked at Amelia’s pale expression, and his fists clenched.
She never felt safe in that house in the healer’s community, where they never respected her and treated her like nothing more than a tool.
And then she came here, and she has been subjected to mockery for her birth origins and background since then.
What kind of husband was he really if he couldn’t protect his wife from his family, even after being a king? What kind of authority would he show the world when his family was outwardly defying laws to attack his people?
"I understand her," Amelia whispered after some time, taking a deep breath.
Her words made the two men look at her in confusion, waiting for her explanation.
"There was a time when to get my father’s recognition, I used to do everything, despite knowing it was wrong. Be it conducting an immoral experiment or bitching at the leader of the South healers and getting him trapped in a fake scenario so the healers of the West could win a competition. I did it all,"
Amelia looked at her hands before shaking her head as she remembered all those memories.
"Dominic hates Lilithia, and I disrespected her father before the entire family. Maybe she hates me, or maybe she wants to avenge her father’s disrespect by hurting me; it’s all to please her father," Amelia reasoned.
Kyle scoffed at her words.
"No offense, my sunshine, but if you think just because you sympathise with her, it will stop me from bringing her to her knees before her family, you are wrong. No one touches mine, not you. Never," Kyle said.
Amelia looked at Cyrus for help and to talk some sense into Kyle. However, one look at the man was enough to tell her that he supported Kyle in this.
"I am the king, and with the Queen Trials, I can’t come into the spotlight for anything negative. I leave it to you," Cyrus said.
Kyle smirked and, without a second word, he jumped out of the window, one of his favourite moves that indicated he was up to no good.
Amelia looked at her husband with thinned lips.
"You should’ve stopped him," she said before closing her eyes.
Cyrus looked out of the window where his brother had left. He should’ve, but he didn’t want to.
Not anymore. Even he had had enough of bearing this family opposition and shit in the name of kinship. They need to understand that he will not tolerate disrespect towards his wife, especially since he has already assured them that she will stand by his side, regardless of the outcome.
"You should rest and replenish your energy before the second round. Grandpa got attacked again. I am looking into it," Cyrus said.
It was just an excuse he used to leave her side so he could be a part of whatever plan Kyle had to warn Dominic and his family.
He knew if he mentioned anything to Amelia, she would disapprove.
After all, his wrath was worse than Kyle’s. His wolf’s wrath was worse than anything.
"Sir, how is the princess?" Fabian asked as he tried to peek into the room.
Cyrus briefly gazed at the closed door and shook his head.
"She is healing. I want to know what the security was doing when all of this happened. Ask them to line up before the chambers. Arrange a new set of security with several women guards who would patrol the corridors too," Cyrus gave orders.
Fabian looked at the soft expression on his king’s face when he looked at their princess and sighed.
Those people really don’t have any idea what kind of mistake they made. He thought before leaving the corridor.

Inside the Bentley’s estate, Dominic sat inside his cabin, looking at the western borders of his estate that had been suffering for a few days for some unknown reason, and was about to give orders to his right-hand man to arrange a site visit when he heard a soft knock on his door.
His brows furrowed. He remembered telling Elysia not to disturb him. Then who dared to interrupt his working time?
He nodded at his left-hand man to check who was on the door, since he didn’t want to waste his breath on sensing the person using his ultra werewolf senses.
The left-hand man, when he noticed who it was, froze for a second.
"What are you doing here, princess?" he whispered.
"I want to meet him. Please allow me," The girl asked the man with unpredictable eyes.
The man felt torn. Everyone in the estate knew the leader, Dominic Bentley, wasn’t fond of his daughter.
And as a father, the left-hand man sympathized with her and didn’t want her to get hurt.
"He is working, princess. It’s better you leave," he said.
"Please, let me—" Lilithia started, but was interrupted by Dominic’s cold voice.
"What’s taking you so long? Who is it?" He asked.
"It’s nothing, Sir. The maid just wanted to ask for refreshments, and—" the left-hand man started to speak, but Lilithia interrupted his speech.
"It’s me, Father." Lilithia’s words were met with cold silence for a few seconds.
Dominic looked at his right-hand man and then nodded at the files before him.
"Handle them and arrange for a visit. Ask Patrick to show up. He can’t hide in that training arena forever," he said before dismissing his right-hand man and asking him to send Lilithia inside.
As the girl entered with small yet confident steps, Dominic leaned back in his chair, his hawk-like gaze observing her, a look that was more like a leader’s than a father’s.
"What is it?" He asked.
Lilithia took a deep breath.
"Father, I know you hate me and think I am worthless to your mission of claiming the throne, but I want to prove my worth to you. For that, I already made my first move," Lilithia said.
Dominic, who had been sitting with a relaxed posture, straightened immediately.
He didn’t know why, but for some reason, he felt like he wouldn’t like what his daughter would say next.
"What did you do?" He asked.
"I attacked Amelia today in the participants’ chambers. It was a pretty good hit. She shouldn’t be able to participate in the next round." Lilithia said with an expectant smile, her eyes losing the little sanity she had left as she looked at her father with an evil smirk.
The left-hand man froze in his place.
This was bad. Their innocent princess was the only one in the family who was never affected by Dominic’s evil plans, but now...
Dominic, on the other hand, swallowed hard.
"Have you lost your mind?" He asked.
The smile was wiped off of Lilithia’s face immediately.
"Are you not happy, Father? I did it to appease you so she wouldn’t become the queen." Lilithia said.
Patrick, who had been informed that his father demanded to see him, entered the office at the same time and couldn’t help but chuckle when he heard her words.
"Hahaha, this is interesting." He shook his head before plopping on the couch.
Dominic glared at his son.
Lilithia looked to and fro between her father and brother, confused.
"But wasn’t that what we were aiming for?" She asked.
Patrick plopped an almond into his mouth from the snacks container before raising his brows.
"Why do you think Father never attacked Amelia directly anywhere near Cyrus, Lilithia? You did all of this to get your father’s approval, but does he really care about you? Or about me or anyone in our family? He cares about the throne only," Patrick said.
"Patrick Bentley!" Dominic raised his voice.
However, contrary to becoming fearful like he used to become, Patrick merely smirked before standing.
"I thought we had something to talk about, but I guess you have a bigger mess to handle. All the best," Patrick was about to exit the office when they heard it.
Boom!
Dominic rushed to the window of his office and looked into the distance, where large flames and smoke could be seen emitting.
"Bring my binoculars!" Dominic shouted, and the left-hand man immediately rushed to bring him the equipment.
Dominic quickly held the binoculars to see what happened there, and to say he was surprised would be an understatement.
There, before the place where the explosion happened, Kyle stood with a cigarette in his mouth, looking nonchalant as if he didn’t indirectly attack Bentley’s estate and announce a war between the rogues and the estate.
As if the man could feel his stare, Kyle looked up from the fire, straight towards him.
A slight smirk stretched on his lips, and Dominic gulped.
