Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 36: A way with words
Nothing was going according to her plans. For some reason, everything seemed to be falling apart, and she knew the reason behind it was Amelia’s sudden marriage to that monster.
Hannah paced in the room anxiously.
She thought that by marrying Amelia off, she was saving herself from that monster, but why did it look like she didn’t do herself a favor but Amelia?
Now, Amelia was out of her pawns, and she couldn’t use her useless, pathetic sister as she wanted.
Hannah clenched her fists as she remembered Amelia’s retaliation in the canteen, where she humiliated Alexia like the girl had humiliated her before.
Was Amelia finally starting to realize their tricks?
No. How was that possible? Hannah wondered.
She had taken every step carefully, and Amelia even expressed how much she loved her. There was no way that girl would know.
"Something is bothering you," Jessica walked to Hannah.
"You know what’s bothering me. This research publication was important to put me in a good position before the healers, royalty, and werewolves. I wanted to use this to rise above Amelia and easily outcast her. Now it’s all gone," Hannah said.
Jessica sighed and smiled at the girl, placing her hand on her shoulders to calm her.
"It’s okay. I heard what happened in the canteen and the morning. It’s still good and would work in your favor," Jessica said.
Hannah narrowed her brows at her caretaker, unsure what she was trying to say.
Jessica explained how they could use this incident to air the fire between father and daughter. They could suggest to Thames that Amelia orchestrated everything because she didn’t want to share her results, and he slapped her.
And since the Lunar ball was approaching, where the healers would meet the werewolves in the ball, they could use that to ruin her reputation further.
Her insolence and scandals would make the royalty banish her from the healers’ community. Since Amelia won’t be called a healer anymore, she would be thrown from the werewolf’s royalty, too, as she would be useless to the peace treaty.
The plan was perfect in her eyes, as she told Hannah.
Listening to everything, even Hannah agreed that the plan seemed foolproof, and they started devising ways to air the fire against Amelia in the community.
Hannah finally relaxed.
When Amelia would be banished from all sides, she would step forward and help her. And burdened by the gratitude, Amelia would be her slave forever.
She will definitely use Amelia’s mind to gain new heights and soar higher in popularity, while Alpha Killian would be hers, too.
Besides, what was Alpha Killian? She might find a much better and more powerful alpha with her capabilities.
Though her wolf hadn’t shown up yet because she belonged to the lantern community, she knew she had a wolf, and it would be more than enough to make her eligible for Luna’s position.
At the same time, the man who kept saving Amelia and promised her that no one would harm her had arrived at the scene where the laboratory was still burning. He heard what Harmony and Jessica were talking about, and a smirk appeared on his lips.
So what if he failed to show Amelia how much he cared for her this time? He can show his true love to her during the lunar ball.
He will make her realize he is and will always be the only one for her. She might be married, but he was her fate, and he would ensure that he got her heart first before he made her his.
When Amelia reached the bedroom to sleep, Cyrus was already lying in the bed, and she licked her bottom lips, unsure.
She intended to make him fall in love with her and protect her, but she was subconsciously falling harder after all the things he was doing for her.
Cyrus could already feel her presence, but rather than opening his eyes, he wanted to see what the girl would do and if she would take advantage of his vulnerable state. His hand clenched on his dagger under sheets as he kept his eyes unmoving.
Amelia walked to the man, stopping beside him before she raised her hand.
She wanted to cup his cheeks and kiss his forehead to tell him she would always be with him, but she was afraid she would wake him up, and she didn’t want anything like that to happen.
After looking at him for some time, she went to her side of the bed and got into the covers.
She extended her hand and held the side of his shirt like a baby holding her mother’s dress to feel secure.
"I am sorry you had to go through all this for me, and you probably hate breathing the same air. It’s hard to trust me, I know that. But I will try to be a good wife. I promise," Amelia said before she closed her eyes.
It wasn’t long before sleep took over her.
Listening to her even breathing, a clear indication that the girl was fast asleep, Cyrus finally opened his eyes.
He turned his head and looked at her, observing her knitted brows. He couldn’t help but grit his teeth.
The moonshine that adorned her features made her look enchanting, like an angel sleeping beside him.
He wouldn’t lie and say that her words didn’t move him. Something struck in his heart at the way she said those things. It was almost as if she was pitying and telling him she got him simultaneously.
She had a way with words.
There was no way she would say something like that to a sleeping man who wasn’t listening to her. She must’ve known that he was awake.
That was the only plausible explanation. He wondered before he noticed her fists clenching on his shirt.
He squared his jaws before holding her hand and pulling her close.
"I am doing this only for my wolf," Cyrus told himself before he allowed the girl to place her hand on his chest and snuggle her face in the crook of his neck.
He noticed how her expression had turned normal, and her brows relaxed. He took a deep breath before closing his eyes, letting sleep take over him.
