This madness lasted for a few generations, a madness where the elite members of the clan with Mangekyo Sharingan would fight in a battle royale and only the sole survivor stood as the victor.

The generations of blood baths only came to an end with the appearance of a woman named Naori Uchiha. She created Izanami: a counter technique for Izanagi to save her childhood friends: Naka, Baru, and Rai Uchiha from the endless cycle of bloodbaths.

After they broke free from this madness, the group slowly took powerful positions in the clan. Later, they discontinued the use of the medicinal drug, since its negative effects were too brutal to ignore. Alongside this, they also sealed the 'Izanami and Izanagi' to prevent another tragedy from happening.

Now only the selected few members of the Uchiha clan were allowed to learn these forbidden techniques.

Most of the clan members didn't support these decisions, and soon a revolt happened within the clan. The Uchiha clan was torn into two factions, people who were in support of the Naori Uchiha's decision and the people who were against it.
