Reborn in the 1980s: Recapture My Devoted Husband-Chapter 753 - 710: Rustic Han Yi_2
Now that Mei Langchi and his wife are no longer disrupting their lives, the couple has become much more peaceful and at ease, and no longer needs to be on guard all the time.
Occasionally, they would make phone calls to S City to inquire about Grandma and mother-in-law’s well-being. Their only current endeavor is to quickly develop their business in Z City, and then have a child. Their life would then be perfect.
After dinner, the two of them cleaned up the dishes together. Han Yi, worried that Lin Wan was too tired, asked her to lie on the bed so he could give her a massage.
But how could Lin Wan let him serve her? His usual training was much more tiring than her own routine.
Without giving Lin Wan a proper massage, she pulled him down onto the bed and began massaging him instead. "Sigh, we’re so behind the times here. The city doesn’t even have a massage parlor. If there were any in a few years, it would be good for your health to get an occasional massage."
Unexpectedly, just as Lin Wan finished speaking, Han Yi tapped her nose playfully. "Wishful thinking! We shouldn’t entertain such decadent thoughts. According to you, if we rely on others for massages, how’s that any different from being waited on hand and foot?"
Lin Wan thought Han Yi was a bit of a country bumpkin, disagreeing, "As long as you have money in the future, you can absolutely live a life where you’re waited on hand and foot. Not in the future, even now, look at our home. We have a washing machine for our laundry. Though we still need to use our hands, I’m sure we’ll have fully automatic ones in the future. You put clothes in without worry, and when they’re done, it’s straight to drying. Eventually, it’ll be possible for kitchen dishwashing to be fully automated too. Think about how much effort that would save."
"I keep saying you’re full of fantasies. These things exist only in your imagination. If they really could become reality, wouldn’t our country be something."
"Yes, it would truly be something! Although what I’m saying might not happen in the coming years, it will certainly happen in the future. Just look at our streets, with more and more private cars, and motorcycles slowly increasing. Every household has telephones, growing continuously. In the future, people’s lives will only get better, and they’ll enjoy more things. There will certainly be those who explore new ways to make money. My idea of a massage parlor isn’t just a dream."
"Hmm, you make sense. But the things you talk about, who knows if we’ll get to enjoy them in our lifetime." Han Yi ceased arguing with her, thinking that a woman’s thoughts are often incomprehensible to men. Just go along with her.
Han Yi also stopped Lin Wan from massaging him. Turning to hold her in his arms, he lovingly pinched her ear, listening to her wonderful ideas.
"Definitely. Don’t worry, by the time we’ve worked hard and made money, when we’re old and the kids have their own homes, we’ll travel, eat, drink, and enjoy ourselves."
"Okay, sounds good. When I retire, I’ll take you to travel all over the country."
"No, we’ll travel all over the world, to see how foreigners live."
"By then you’ll be old, will you still be able to travel?" Han Yi, hearing his wife’s big ambitions, raised an eyebrow and teased.
"I can. I’ll exercise more now so that when I’m old, my body won’t be too worn out."
"Hmm."
....
On the first day of business, Lin Wan specially set off firecrackers at the crowded shopping mall entrance.
She successfully attracted a lot of attention. Coincidentally, today was Sunday, and by ten o’clock, the store was bustling with customers.
Only Yang Kui and Taozi were there, and they couldn’t handle the crowd. Lin Wan was busy collecting money at the front, an extremely important task. She was terrified of making any accounting errors.
But, she managed to keep one side under control only to lose grip on another; Lin Wan didn’t expect so many people. The traffic at the entrance was unpredictable.
During the lunch break, they realized that two pieces of clothing were missing.
"This kind of situation is normal. Not to mention, your store’s business is really booming since it opened. I have someone watching over me after all, I’ll help you in the afternoon." Wang Leqin noticed there were still so many people around lunchtime and shared Lin Wan’s concern.
"Really, thank you. I never thought there would be so many people. We’re short-staffed, it’s quite worrying."
"Once the activities end in a few days, quickly hire more people."
"Okay."
While the two were pondering, Mu Qing came over with the meal. Having waited for Lin Wan in the store for a while without seeing her, she realized Lin Wan was busy, so she packed a meal and brought it over.
Entering the store and seeing so many people, she was also surprised, "No wonder I didn’t see you come back for lunch. Why are there so many people?"
Such inquiries were hard to answer; Lin Wan just smiled happily, knowing the truth.
"Quickly have your meal, I’ll watch the store for you," Mu Qing promptly handed the meal to Lin Wan, suggesting she eat in the break room. But how could Lin Wan leave? Yang Kui and Taozi had been busy since morning without a bite to eat.
"Saozi, could you please help bring two more meals? They haven’t eaten yet."
"Alright, let them sit in the store and eat, take a break, while Leqin and I help you manage the store for now."
"Okay, that works."
Mu Qing first took the two into the store and arranged for the kitchen to prepare them some quick meals. Once everything was in place, she quickly returned to the store to help manage things.
By the end of the day, they were busy until the mall closed after six o’clock. Except for the two pieces of clothing missing in the morning, there were no further losses.
Throughout the day, many of the goods sent by Su Ling had been sold, half of them were already gone. Lin Wan’s promotional event was set for a week. If this kept up, there wouldn’t be enough stock to sell.
She urgently called Su Ling to restock.
After work, Lin Wan quickly let the two go home to rest; she stayed behind to organize.
Wang Leqin also went upstairs to settle the accounts; Saozi stayed to help organize the store’s clothes and return the customers’ tried and misplaced items to their original spots.
Lin Wan calculated at the counter and the day’s revenue had already reached fifteen hundred dollars. This surprised Lin Wan, who hadn’t expected such a scene. Usually, there were many people during a new opening promotion, but not to this extent of being so busy.
Lin Wan arrived home after eight o’clock, looking exhausted. Seeing her so worn out, Han Yike felt a heartaching sympathy.
"I’ll help you tomorrow."
"Great, you can’t imagine how many people were there today. We three couldn’t keep up, and in the morning, two pieces of clothing got stolen. In the end, I called both Saozi and Leqin over."
Han Yi laughed at that, "Not bad, every store my wife opens gets so busy. It’s a good thing."
After the joy came worry, as he didn’t want his wife to be too worn out.
"Tomorrow, just help me keep an eye on the entrance."
"Got it. Should I wear my uniform? Standing tall there, no one will dare have ill intentions."
Lin Wan raised an eyebrow, knowing that Han Yi’s new uniform was much more attractive than the old one, and now with military ranks. Imagining Han Yi’s shoulder adorned with three big stars suggested a not-low position.
But how could she let her husband do such a job as guarding the entrance?
