Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance-Chapter 79: Not Rented
Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Not Rented
Ye Hao hadn’t seen Gu Yi for a long time, and he couldn’t control himself for a moment.
He looked at Gu Yi’s sleeping face and, satisfied, held her as they drifted into dreamland together.
Ye Hao’s always tense nerves relaxed completely beside Gu Yi.
Gu Yi woke up, but Ye Hao was still sound asleep.
Even though Ye Hao was asleep, his hand still tightly held Gu Yi.
Gu Yi shifted slightly, wanting to watch him sleeping, but Ye Hao pulled her tightly into his arms.
"Awake?"
Ye Hao’s voice was a bit hoarse from sleep, and Gu Yi could only see his chin when she looked up.
Feeling mischievous, Gu Yi strained upward and gave Ye Hao’s chin a big kiss.
Who knew she’d get poked painfully by Ye Hao’s rough stubble.
Hearing Gu Yi’s gasp, Ye Hao looked down.
Gu Yi was covering her mouth, looking at him with a wronged expression.
Ye Hao’s heart felt as soft as water.
"Naughty, does it hurt? Let me see."
He pulled Gu Yi’s hand away to see her lips were a bit red.
"Your stubble is so rough, it hurt so much, am I bleeding?"
Gu Yi pouted to show Ye Hao.
Ye Hao lowered his head and kissed her.
"I was asking you to check if I was bleeding, and you took advantage."
Once Ye Hao released her, Gu Yi rolled her eyes at him in mock annoyance.
This man is just like a bull in this lifetime. Gu Yi was afraid that another kiss might lead to more, and she really didn’t have the energy for it.
But Gu Yi didn’t notice that her face was now flushed, eyes watery, lips slightly swollen, and her glance made Ye Hao’s body tingle.
"Such a little enchantress."
Gu Yi saw the predatory gleam in Ye Hao’s eyes, and when she realized the danger, it was too late to escape.
At this moment, Gu Yi missed the old Ye Hao from her past life.
"I really can’t do this again, I have to study later, and I’m really hungry."
Gu Yi looked at the time, it was already past nine, and they still hadn’t had dinner.
"I couldn’t resist today, wait a moment, I’ll go buy something to eat. Do you want anything in particular?"
Seeing Gu Yi’s wary face, Ye Hao felt a bit embarrassed.
"Just get something, quickly."
Gu Yi was genuinely hungry and didn’t want to waste time discussing this, so she urged him to go quickly.
"Okay, I’ll be back soon."
He quickly put on his clothes and ran down the stairs.
In no time, he came back carrying a bowl of noodles and a bowl of fried rice, panting.
"How did you manage so fast?"
Gu Yi had just finished washing up when Ye Hao came back with noodles and fried rice, which seemed almost magical.
"Hehe, when I went down, the owner had just finished cooking, so I bought them."
Ye Hao didn’t tell Gu Yi that when he went down, the owner felt pressured seeing his serious face watching him work, made several mistakes, and let him have someone else’s food just to make him leave quickly.
Gu Yi didn’t care since there was food to eat. She sat down, ready to eat the fried rice, but Ye Hao moved it aside.
"You’ve been hungry for so long, have some soft food first, eat the fried rice later."
He said, pushing the noodles toward Gu Yi.
Gu Yi didn’t hesitate and ate some noodles first, then pushed the noodles to Ye Hao and began eating the fried rice.
To be honest, the food on the snack street across from the school was quite delicious with a lot of variety. Gu Yi would go there recently since she didn’t feel like cooking, saving time and energy.
"You said you were going to study earlier, is it these books?"
Ye Hao noticed the books on the coffee table and recalled Gu Yi mentioning she needed to study, so he asked.
"Yes, I originally wanted to talk to you about this when you arrived."
Gu Yi couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Ye Hao.
"Yiyi, don’t be mad. Eat some vegetables to cool off."
Ye Hao smiled in an appeasing manner, knowing Gu Yi liked vegetables, he picked some out from the noodles to give to her.
Gu Yi was amused by his obedient demeanor and smiled.
"I’m collaborating with Li Yitian, mainly helping with styling, but times are changing so fast, and clothes are becoming obsolete quickly. I’m afraid if I don’t learn more, I won’t be able to continue in the future. So, I want to enroll in the Art College as they just started a fashion design class open to the public. But I have to pass their entrance exam."
After speaking, Gu Yi stared at Ye Hao, eager to see what he thought.
Ye Hao was picking vegetables from his noodles for Gu Yi and noticed her watching him.
"What, afraid I’ll oppose it?" ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
"A little."
Gu Yi replied honestly.
Ye Hao chuckled, wondering if he was really that unreasonable in Gu Yi’s view.
"Don’t worry, it’s great you want to learn more, especially with such a good opportunity. I’m fully supportive."
Ye Hao knew Gu Yi was really into fashion, or else she wouldn’t travel so far every quarter to do styling for Li Yitian’s shop.
Though he sometimes convinced himself that she came because she missed him, he knew she’d likely not visit so often if she didn’t genuinely love the work.
"I knew you were the best."
Gu Yi leaned over and kissed Ye Hao’s cheek.
"A gratitude kiss, don’t overthink it."
Ye Hao turned to look at her, and Gu Yi quickly pulled back, burying her head in her food. She was truly scared—she needed to study, and time was tight, alright?
Ye Hao saw her burying her head like an ostrich and held back from teasing her further.
Gu Yi only ate half of her fried rice before feeling full and pushed it to Ye Hao, looking at him pitifully.
"I can’t eat anymore."
"Full already? Do you want something else, I can go buy more."
Ye Hao knew Gu Yi didn’t eat much, but seeing how long she exercised and still ate so little, he worried it might not suit her taste.
"I’m really full."
Gu Yi looked sincerely at Ye Hao, even letting out a little burp for effect.
"Okay, you’re full."
Ye Hao smiled and pulled the food toward himself, finishing the rest in a few bites.
"You rest for a while, I need to study, don’t disturb me, okay?"
Even though it was already ten, Gu Yi felt very alert after napping during the day.
She didn’t recite texts but took out her high school English book to study.
This subject was the hardest for her, with exams approaching soon. She wasn’t sure if she could pass.
She had finished her math and Chinese curriculum and practice exercises, even bought additional sets for practice, which turned out better than she expected. Now, her success depended on English.
The book was on the coffee table, and Gu Yi sat on the floor, leaning over it, occasionally writing and drawing in the textbook.
Ye Hao sat behind Gu Yi, quietly watching her study. He quickly noticed that she read the English book very slowly, appearing to struggle with it.
