REBORN: MEET MY BROTHERS-Chapter 42: STAY, LITTLE ONE
Maximus took the lead, pulling Ava closer, pressing her firmly against his chest as his mouth moved on hers. Hot. Demanding. Unapologetically possessive.
His little wife had lips made for kissing. They were voluptuous and soft. They gave in to the slightest pressure, molding to his mouth with an unconscious sexuality that felt both instinctive and intoxicating. They were like a siren’s call, luring him deeper, making it impossible to pull away.
He groaned low in his throat, his pulse pounding as her taste flooded his senses. Sweet, warm, and entirely hers. His hand roamed instinctively, and his fingers gripped her hips with enough force to make her gasp.
Her gown was already up her waist from cradling him, and her pink panties were uncovered.
Unable to resist, his fingers trailed the smooth curve of her thighs, before he gripped her soft butt cheeks which were as soft as he’d imagined.
He tilted his head, deepening the kiss, devouring her like a man starved, as if she were the only thing that could sate his hunger.
Ava’s hands slid up his chest, clutching at the fabric of his shirt like she couldn’t bear to let him go. She responded to his every movement. Her lips parted under the pressure of his, inviting him. Her quiet moan was his undoing, and it made his pulse quicken.
Maximus pulled back slightly, only to have more access to the delicate column of her neck. He trailed hot, open-mouthed kisses along her throat. His teeth slowly grazed her sensitive skin.
Ava whimpered, and her fingers tangled his hair as he left a wet trail of fire down her neck. Her moan was music to his ears, turning him on even more, but Maximus swallowed it as his lips came back to her.
Ava moaned yet again as his fingers squeezed tightly on her butt cheeks once more, before they trailed upward, exploring the curve of her back professionally, almost as if he knew where to touch to make her senses go numb.
Slowly moving to her sides, His touch lingered on the swell of her breasts, teasing her through the thin fabric of her dress. His thumbs circled her hardened peaks, and Ava let out a gasp that was almost a cry.
The folds between her legs ached and she found herself wanting more. In a desperate attempt to quench the heat that pooled down there, she moved her hips slowly, grinding her core against his hard member. She wanted him down there. Needed him.
When her folds, covered by her thin underwear surrounded his member, Maximus felt a shudder in his body. But he painfully managed to hold back from releasing from that slight touch. He cussed under his breath.
All he wanted to do at that point was rip away the last barriers between them, to feel the slick heat of her desire against him, to taste every inch of her until she was moaning his name.
It didn’t seem to matter that he was closer to her now that he’d ever been before. It was still not sufficient. He wanted more of her. Needed more of her. But he didn’t take more.
When Ava shifted again, her folds brushed against his rigid member and Maximus shuddered yet again. His body trembled with the effort it took not to take her right there.
Instead, he groaned and tore himself away from her lips. Their breaths mingled as he pressed his forehead against hers. "You’re driving me insane, little one," he murmured tightly.
Ava’s hooded eyes met his. Her lips were swollen and glistened from the kiss, and at the sight, Maximus cussed once more. Just staring at her like this made his member budge.
When she tried to wrap herself around him again, he quickly unwrapped her legs and pressed her back against the sofa, creating a space between them. Ava protested vehemently, but he silenced her with a finger he placed on her lips. "Stay, little one."
She pressed her lips into a thin line as she looked up at him with wide eyes. When his fingers dropped from her lips, Ava pouted and at the sight, Maximus almost gave in. Almost.
He moved away from her when he was certain she wouldn’t move and as he walked away, he ran his hand through his hair, trying to control his raging fire. His little wife was really the death of him, but regardless of the temptation, he knew she wasn’t herself.
Doing whatever was in his head when she was like this will only make her resent him when she’s finally back to her senses. He couldn’t afford to let that happen. He’d take care of her, but not like this, not until she’s ready to let him.
Exhaling sharply, Maximus picked up his phone and dialed a number.

In the mansion’s control room, Ethan sat in front of the security monitors, watching recorded footages for any sign of suspicious activities before Ava was drugged. It had been a while since Maximus gave the orders, but so far, nothing out of the ordinary had appeared.
He sighed heavily, rubbing his hands on his face, feeling a little frustrated. When his phone buzzed by his side, he reached inside his pockets and pulled his phone out.
"Have you found the person?" Maximus’s voice came through the line.
Ethan sighed again. "I’m working on it," he said apologetically.
Maximus wasn’t pleased with the news, but he forced himself to remain calm. "Inform Ava’s family that she’ll be staying the night," he ordered curtly before ending the call.
Exhaling deeply, Ethan pocketed his phone before rising from his seat. He made his way to the party room, where the Whitlocks were gathered.

MARRIAGE PROPOSAL I
Sasha had been looking for Ava since she realized she had vanished from the party. Although she didn’t mention, her eyes wandered mindlessly around. She did not see Ava leave the room because something else caught her attention. If not, she wouldn’t have let her leave.
Sasha frowned, feeling a little frustrated as she continued to look around. How could Ava disappear so easily? After all the effort she had put into slipping the drug into her drink, just so Ava would make a fool of herself in front of everyone here, especially the Quinns. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go.
Restless, she turned to William. If anyone should know where Ava had gone to, it would be her grandfather. But before she could ask, she saw her family’s eyes shift to someone behind her. Curious, she followed their line of sight.
Her eyes landed on the familiar, but not so familiar man. He was tall and broad shouldered. The way he carried himself made him undeniably handsome too. She clicked her tongue as she suddenly remembered where she’d seen him. He was always with Maximus.
But why was he approaching them?
Ethan stopped in front of them with a polite smile. His presence alone silenced the hum of conversations between the Whitlocks.
"Mr. Whitlock," he greeted William first, then he turned his gaze to the rest of Ava’s family members, acknoledging each of them. "Ladies, gentlemen. My name is Ethan. I’m Mr. Quinn’s assistant," he informed.
The Whitlock’s nodded at his introduction.
Gaulin cleared his throat. "I assume you already know who we are."
Ethan nodded in approval. "Of course, Mr. Whitlock. I’m here on behalf of Maximus."
At the mention of Maximus, Sasha smiled softly. So he finally came around, she thought smugly. She found this amusing after he’d openly ignored her earlier as she apologized.
Sasha knew she was irresistible, but the thought that Maximus had finally realized it bolstered her confidence. Despite everything she’d said to him and his mother, she didn’t think he’d forgive them so easily. Then again, who could stay mad at someone as stunning as her?
"What does Mr. Quinn want?" She asked Ethan softly.
Respectfully, "Mr. Quinn asked me to inform you that Ava would not be returning home tonight," Ethan said.
Her family froze for a second. William’s brows furrowed. "Not returning home? Why? What’s going on?"
Ethan smiled reassuringly. "There is no need to worry. She’s safe. Mr. Quinn is taking care of her personally."
Sasha’s smile faltered, and she stared at Ethan confused. Why would Maximus be taking care of Ava? And how did Ava get to Maximus? She thought about the aphrodisiac drug and she clenched her fists to her sides, trying to keep her face normal.
Ava wasn’t supposed to be with Maximus, not at this time, not when her sexual urges were up the chart. What if something happened between them? No! She slightly shook her head from her thoughts. Ava is already trying to take her position in the Whitlock’s household. There was no way she was going to let her take the Quinn’s heir from her.
Gaulin frowned. "Why isn’t Ava coming home? Is she unwell?"
Ethan nodded slightly. "She wasn’t feeling herself earlier, and Mr. Quinn thought it best to let her rest at his house. He wants to ensure she’s well taken care of."
William’s lips pressed into a thin line as he exchanged glances with Gaulin. He hated the idea of his granddaughter spending a night with a man he knew nothing about and only just found out a couple of days that she was engaged to.
Noticing the old man’s hesitation, "I hope you understand this decision wasn’t made lightly," Ethan continued. "Mr. Quinn values your family’s relationship deeply and only wants what’s best for Ava."
"I’d like to speak to Maximus directly," William said firmly.
Ethan inclined his head respectfully. "Of course, Mr. Whitlock. I’ll arrange for Mr. Quinn to call you shortly."
Before William could respond, Matilda cut in. "If Ava’s unwell, perhaps we should see her ourselves. She’s family, after all. No offence, Mr. Ethan, but it doesn’t sit right for my daughter to spend the night somewhere else other than her home."
"My mother is right, Mr. Ethan," Sasha backed. "Ava shouldn’t spend the night with a man when she has a family."
Ethan’s blue eyes shifted from Sasha to Matilda. "I understand your worry, Mrs. and Miss Whitlock, but Mr. Quinn has everything under control. And don’t forget they’re already engaged, so Maximus isn’t just any man. He’ll be her husband soon."
That thought made both Sasha and Matilda’s stomach churn, while Gaulin and her brothers were the least worried. The only person that was truly bothered was William.
"If you’ll excuse me." Ethan bowed slightly, and walked away, not giving Sasha or Matilda any more chance to argue.

The Whitlock’s finally returned home without Ava after Maximus had personally spoken to William who was determined to take his granddaughter home with him. Unfortunately, his resistance crumbled before Maximus.
Immediately they returned, Sasha stormed to her room with fury, stunning every member of her family.
Matilda also wasn’t pleased, so she turned to Gaulin. "Let’s talk, honey."
