REBORN: MEET MY BROTHERS-Chapter 77: UNEXPECTED VISITOR
"From now on, only the legal guardians of a patient are allowed to be in the patient’s room. This rule is to ensure better management and reduce potential disruptions in critical care."
Matilda and Sasha exchanged confused glances. "What kind of ridiculous policy is that?!" Sasha snapped. "Are you trying to say because someone isn’t the ’legal guardian,’ they can’t visit their own family member?"
"No, Miss Whitlock. We certainly cannot keep such restrictions on one’s family members."
"So what are you saying?" Matilda calmly asked.
"The family of the patient cannot visit without the legal guardian’s permission."
"This is absolutely absurd!" Sasha spat with anger as she stepped forward aggressively. "You’re saying we need someone’s permission to see our own family? Do you even hear yourself, Mr. Rowland? What kind of heartless policy is this?"
"I clearly understand your frustration, Miss Whitlock, but this policy is in place to protect patients and ensure a controlled environment for their recovery."
"Don’t try to justify this nonsense with fancy words!"
"Sasha!" Matilda placed a firm hand on her daughter’s arm. "That’s enough." The last thing she wanted was to create a scene over nothing. Gaulin was William’s legal guardian. She only needs to get his permission.
Sasha frowned, muttering under her breath as she crossed her arms.
"This permission... Is a phone call enough?"
"I’m afraid not, Mrs. Whitlock. He or she has to show up in person and give their permission. Now I know it’s hard going through this whole process, but you’re civilized and you’ve been on top of the hierarchy for years. I know you understand how people who think they’re smart will try to manipulate their way around this policy. As such, we have to be smarter."
Matilda nodded. "I perfectly understand, Mr. Rowland. Thank you for informing us. He will be here shortly to address any concerns."
Wesley gave a quick nod. "You have an hour, Mrs. Whitlock." With that, he turned and walked out of the room.
As soon as he exited the room, Sasha let out a frustrated groan. "This is ridiculous, Mother! How can they make such a policy?"
Matilda sighed as she sat down. This new policy was no coincidence. She knew it was related to what happened to Ava yesterday and the men that were killed. Something like this hasn’t happened in a while and now they’re forced to take drastic measures to ensure their hospital’s image isn’t ruined. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Instead of whining, sweetie, call your father. Tell him to come to the hospital immediately."
Sasha fumed, but she eventually picked up her phone and dialed her father’s number.

Fiddlestick walked to the living room with a package in his hand. Immediately he spotted Ava, he approached her. "Miss Ava, you have a package."
"Who is it from?" Ava asked concerned. She didn’t remember ordering anything.
After examining the package, Fiddlestick handed it to her. "It says from hubby. Also, there’s a note attached to it. Do you want me to read—"
"No!" Ava interrupted with flushed cheeks. "You don’t have to read it. I know who it’s from." She took the package from Fiddlestick immediately. "Thank you."
Fiddlestick was surprised by her weird behavior, but he left the room without asking any questions.
The moment he was out of sight, Ava picked up the note from the package and read it. "Don’t make me lose my mind anymore... SOS."
The message was confusing. Ava’s brow furrowed all while she unwrapped the package as she thought of Maximus. The message on the note sounded like an emergency. Was Maximus in any kind of trouble?
She became more confused when she held up a new phone. Was he losing his mind because he couldn’t call or text her? Was that the emergency?
Her chest warmed up at the thought. She only remembered she lost her phone yesterday when she was kidnapped now she was holding a new one.
Slowly, her face lit up with a beautiful smile and her chest warmed even more at Maximus’s thoughtfulness.
Ava didn’t know if it was sheer coincidence that her new phone rang immediately she turned it on. She was skeptical about picking up the call since it was the only number saved in the phone, but when she remembered who got the phone for her, she quickly accepted the call.
"Hello?"
"I was beginning to think you didn’t get my package. What do you think about my gift? Do you like it or would you prefer another brand?"
Ava couldn’t contain her smile. "It’s perfect. I love it. Thank you for the gift, Maximus."
"There’s no need to thank me, little one. That gift is my emergency siren for help. You just saved one of the largest groups in all of Lebron city’s CEO from losing his mind."
Ava laughed, but swallowed her laughter when Gaulin hurriedly walked into the living room. "Fiddlestick!" He yelled for the butler who immediately appeared.
"Master Gaulin..."
"Get the car ready. I need to leave immediately."
Fiddlestick nodded curtly and immediately did as instructed.
When Gaulin’s eyes landed on Ava, he looked away nonchalantly and headed to his study.
Ava wondered the emergency and where her father was going with such urgency, but her attention returned to Maximus when she heard his question. "What’s with the noise over there?"
"Huh?" It took a few seconds before she collected her thoughts. "Oh... It’s just my father. He seems to be in a bit of hurry. I wonder why."
Inside his car, Maximus smiled. Wesley must’ve informed them of the new policy. It’s only a matter of time before they receive the biggest shock of their lives. No one has the right to bully his little wife.
"You shouldn’t concern yourself with that, little one. Instead, you should think of how to dress up before I get there. I want to take you somewhere."
"You’re coming over?!" Maximus’s silence gave Ava the answer she sought. She rose to her feet immediately. "Why the hell are you just informing me?!" She hurriedly walked up the stairs. "How do you expect me to look good in only a few minutes? Beauty takes time, you know..."
Maximus laughed outright to that. "You don’t need effort to look good. You look good even in sweatshirts."
Ava blushed at the compliment, but she still wasn’t pleased as she pushed the door to her room open. "Still... I can’t imagine the famous Maximus Quinn going out with a girl in sweatshirts. I’ll look retched beside you."
Maximus frowned at the tease, but he let it go. His little wife just didn’t know how beautiful she was but he was going to make her know in the long run.
"How close are you?"
"My chauffeur is driving into your estate."
Ava shrieked within, but a little sound escaped her mouth that made Maximus smile even more. "Were you never planning on telling me you were coming till you got here?"
"No."
Ava scoffed. His honesty irked her sometimes. "I’m hanging up. I don’t need a distraction while I wrack my brain for the perfect outfit." She hung up after that and started going through her closet.

Matilda and Sasha sat down unbothered inside the room as they waited patiently for Gaulin to arrive. When they heard a knock on the door, Sasha hurriedly opened the door with the thought that it was her father, but she frowned when she saw Wesley again with the two guards.
Wesley didn’t bother asking for permission before walking into the room. Instead, Sasha took a couple of steps back as she stood with her mother.
"It’s been over an hour, Mrs. Whitlock, and we still haven’t seen the legal guardian for Mr. Whitlock or even received a permission for your stay here. I’m sorry, but in regards to the hospital policy, I’ll have to ask you and your daughter to leave."
Both their faces paled.
Matilda forced a smile as she stood from her seat and straightened out her dress. "Mr. Rowland, what is the meaning of this? Are you seriously planning on kicking us out?"
Sasha glared at Wesley with a frown. "This is outrageous! You can’t seriously kick us out just because of some ridiculous policy you cooked up overnight."
"I understand this situation is frustrating, but rules are rules. As much as I sympathize, I cannot make exceptions. This is not personal; it’s procedural."
Sasha crossed her arms. "Don’t give us that! You walk in here with your guards like you’re running some sort of prison, and you dare say it’s not personal?!"
Matilda eyed the man. "You should at least try to be understanding. My husband is a very busy man, but because he understands the urgency of this situation, he’s taking out his time to come here. There must have been a delay, but he will be here any moment now."
"I am also a very busy man, yet I took out my previous time to come in here and relay this message to you." Wesley pushed up his glasses. "Don’t make me embarrass you by having the guards throw you out."
