"I cannot believe you did that!"

"What? You would have done the same if I was asleep!"

Sena and Maria sat in the living room arguing, but she couldn't deny the argument because she kissed him in secret while tending to his wounds. So Maria's accusation cut deep and made Sena huff, turning away.

Because the pair worried someone might have seen Julian or the trio at the shopping mall so they were watching the news.

— Earlier today at xx: xx

A gas line exploded in the middle of the district... casualties range between 200-300 people and as the...

Please tune in later for another detailed report on this tragedy. —

The news forecast sounded quite heartless to the two women, but there wasn't any mention of Julian officially and the electricity in the whole area seemed to have gone down the moment the monsters appeared.

"It's strange..." Sena muttered.

"What is?"

"The monster that appeared were all monsters that I fought against with Julian in the game..."

"So?" Maria tilted her head.

Sena shrugged her shoulders before lifting her cup of coffee, sniffing the thick aroma and appreciating the earthy scent, then taking a sip. "This is heavenly!" Then turning back to Maria with a furrowed brow.

"Because in the last life, I dealt with the same event, but the monsters were all orcs and it happened over two weeks from now."

"..."

Maria touched her chin, sliding her finger across the rim of her coffee trying to make sense of everything that happened until her eyes flashed.

"Do you think it's because Julian regressed?"

"How so?"

Sena sipped another warm, bitter mouthful of her delicious Americano.

"Well, if the goddess brought him back each time. Then what if the ones who are making events twisted and more rapid are the Devils? Solaria did say everything has an equal reaction and that the more we changed the past..."

Maria didn't believe that the events becoming centred around them was anything farfetched. Two people from the world of a game now existed in the real world.

That same person found himself regressing to before his second world ended and his girlfriend ALSO has memories from her past life.

It felt too one-sided to have no repercussions.

"If Solaria was that powerful, and the 12 Divines controlled that much... why did this world and Avalon fall?"

"Oh!"

Sena wasn't the brightest after she returned, thanks to years of fighting and forgetting many of her technical knowledge and studies to become a business manager.

Her brain now remembered sword techniques, survival drills and how to kill demons and monsters.

"Then... the more Julian changes..."

"The deadlier and more danger he will be in!" Maria interrupted Sena's thoughts.

"So what do we do, Maria?"

The two women didn't forget their actions—both loved Julian, and both understood the deep link they had with him.

Out of respect, Maria told Sena what happened in the dungeon, about Fran and then his new shade, which started to connect the dots as the women continued to attempt to understand each other and their future.

"Does that mean....

You believe that Julian's shades. At least his current ones share a link to his past lives?"

After learning about Fran, Sena's cheeks puffed out, but the most confusing to her was the appearance of Nocta.

Even in his past life, nobody of that kind of figure existed—a female guardian was rare and even more so because she knew Julian didn't fight until forced to by the failing government, like a slave in the end.

The two looked at each other with a conflicted gaze, both feeling they were right, but even if they were... what would be the solution? If Solaria could solve this problem, wouldn't she already have done it?

"What should we do?" Sena asked, biting her lower lip.

Although she acted tough and harsh in her moment of anger, Sena's priority after her own life was always Julian because she couldn't save her family... it was impossible.

'Though I told them to play the game, dad would never listen to me about a game...'

Her family had died before she could even speak to them in her last life, but this time, she at least warned them. But because of how fast things were moving, it became almost impossible to help them. Sena planned to fly out and show them in person when she first remembered everything.

However, now everything started changing rapidly, and she believed the Devil would be attacking the planet within the next two weeks rather than an entire month.

This situation wasn't a matter of just her family anymore.

"I don't know... but maybe training is the best idea. Julian told me that once your body developed a core or mana, the games system lost more of a hold on you."

"Really?! I was so sure that was true... but our guild leader was adamant it was a lie or rumour!"

Sena thought back to the past, when she increased her stats and skills through training with the sword each day, but the guild leader and government never spread her findings... "Should we spread this information, to increase survivors?"

"I don't know, because what if the wrong type of people learn this, and it becomes a tragedy, didn't you mention people who became criminals and formed a guild that enjoyed PVP?"

PVP was a term used in online games for the type of content. Player versus Player, where players would kill each other, normally for benefits and gains.

That was true for Avalon, too. Once the worlds started fusing, a person could absorb most experience from the player whom they killed and take most of the gold and items stored in their inventories.

Sena also let Maria and Julian know about this hidden fact that the governments of the world tried to hide.

"Then... why would people care about gold in the apocalypse?"

"Haha, well, because the worlds fused, some strange and magical things appeared... like that girl you mentioned, Fran, was it? They started appearing in the world, various races and monsters..." Sena took a deep breath, lifting her lukewarm coffee and sighed, the aroma fading, and now the cold taste was like dirt, but she swigged it and continued.

"Magical shops that seemed to be run by mysterious hooded figures that couldn't be attacked and even the devil's couldn't intervene with them."

"I see... so gold is important, I've gained so much thanks to partying with Julian, getting more than double from the goblins compared to entering with you."

"Really? That place... he called it the Nightmare World right? Maybe that's the benefit for fighting monsters at a higher level."

Julian did mention benefits to Sena, but the moment he started, he stopped going into detail because his head started aching.

'Probably a failsafe, to keep them hidden...'

Maria leaned back, causing the chair to creak.

She winced because of her bruised chest, leaning over to Sena as she watched her dear friend for several moments.

"What?"

"I don't want to fight with you, nor take your place in Julian's heart."

Sena felt like Maria's words and expression were sincere, the twang of pain in her chest bringing back the bitter and dark feelings in her mind.

"Do you mean that, even if he prioritises me, sleeps with me more, kisses me and adores me while you wait?"

A realistic question, nobody could withstand that... everyone wants to be somebody's number one.

"I just want to remain beside him, Sena... I don't believe Julian could prioritise only one of us, even if he loved you more."

She paused, noticing the change in Sena's expression, her watery eyes and dilated pupils.

"Because that's what made us fall for him right?"

Sena's heart pounded rapidly, almost gasping at the realisation and truth.

"Maria... are we wrong to do this? I feel my morals and thoughts clashing with the desire to just accept things... and have done with my dark feelings."

There was no correct answer in Maria's mind.

She would be happy with anything Julian chose, the feelings embedded in her heart from the moment they met on that cold winter afternoon when she got lost in the palace while visiting with her father.

"Can't we just have threesomes, or decide things when they happened, why pit each others importance and compete?"

"Threesomes?!" Sena gasped.

Her mouth opened wide in shock.

"Well... it might help stop some of your problems. But I think that will make Julian happy, he's quite cute when sleeping naked, right?"

Sena's cheeks flushed pink at Maria's words.

'I don't know if this woman is a saintess or a fallen angel!'

However, Maria only felt one thing for Sena after getting over her anger, jealousy and regret. Grateful.

'If not for you, Julian would never have become so strong.'

That's why she didn't want to break this relationship, to ruin this three-pronged arrow that could stand the test of time. Maybe when the third woman appeared, whoever Nocta was... she knew they existed somewhere, but Julian didn't mention anyone.

But what if he didn't remember?

'Could it be?' Maria thought about how he mentioned a fragmented memory.

"Sena."

"Yes?"

"Do you think Nocta is someone Julian met during the time after you died?"

"Eh?!"
