Chapter 167: A gift from teacher Adrian

Although this whole affair of results not being displayed has happened before, later the student could go through their results if they wished to.

Why was Ella being forbidden from doing so?

Jenny snapped to herself and smiled composedly, "Ella, as far as I am concerned, this matter has nothing to do with other students. You can only blame yourself for your actions..."

"My actions?" Ella blinked.

"Exactly. You only have yourself to blame for this entire event. From the beginning, I have warned you to not go overboard with your actions."

"How about this, Professor? You can have someone bring my answer sheets here and we can discuss things as we go through it," Even as Ella said so, she was not putting any hope into it.

Her answer sheets? Probably in the ruins by now.

"You are crossing a line and being rude to your Professor, Ella," Jenny’s eyes met Esther and she gave the girl a reassuring smile that disappeared in a brief moment.

The look exchanged clearly conveyed one thing—The answer sheets have been taken care of.

Jenny calmly spoke to Ella as if a respectable elder talking to a mischievous child, "It is against the university rules to revisit the paper of students who do as badly as you and..."

"Here are the answer sheets.’’

When Ella turned in the direction of the voice, a female assistant professor stepped forward, "With the situation at hand, I had someone collect the papers of the student."

Jenny’s lips twitched, barely, but not enough.

Esther’s tears had long dried but her composed face cracked. She stepped back, blending into the crowd, no longer so eager to be out in open.

Noticing her movements, Violet’s brows furrowed.

Discussions rose in the crowd again.

Ella’s lips curled into a smile—sharp and dangerous, "Professor, now that the papers are already here, we should go through them publicly."

If a glare could be cut, the assistant professor who brought Ella’s answer sheets would have been shredded into a thousand pieces by Jenny by now.

But the lady stood unmoved. Instead, she turned around and handed the papers to Ella’s hand carefully.

From start to finish, she showed none of the reverence others did around Jenny.

When she left, she smiled at Ella politely and mouthed something, ’Miss Yu, be careful.’

Ella froze and suddenly she realized it.

It was Adrian’s doing.

A few days ago when they had street food after leaving her apartment, she brought up this matter.

’Baby, they are saying our results will be out soon.’

’Mm,’ the man had uttered the same boring response.

’As my teacher who prepped me for two major papers, what are you gifting me when I top this time?’

When she had asked the question, Adrian looked at her with a blank face as if the thought had not crossed his mind yet.

’Baby, how could you be so mean? You even forgot my gift!’ Ella couldn’t miss out on such a big opportunity to tease ’Princess Adrian’ so she clung to his arm and whined until they got peak public gazes on them.

Ella wanted a reaction out of him but the man remained unmoved so she lost interest.

However, later, on the way to the dorms, Adrian asked her, ’What would you like?’

It took her a few moments to realize that he was asking about the gift, ’Um... I was just saying.’

The man remained silent, ’Alright.’

Ella thought she managed to shrug him off.

But suddenly, the man continued speaking, ’It might not be a gift...’

As Ella turned to him, he added, ’But I will give you what I deem fit.’

Seeing the hint of determination in his eyes, Ella was a little amused and speechless.

Soon, he dropped her off at her dorm and left for work again.

And this matter was pushed to the back of her head.

As Ella glanced at the answer sheets in her hand, she was certain these were meant to be destroyed. With Dean Mo’s absolute power in the department, there was no way Jenny would have left these papers to fall into her hands.

A sharp tug at the papers and Ella moved on instinct. She captured the wrist that was trying to snatch the papers away.

"Professor, what are you doing?" Ella looked up at Jenny with a smile that did not quite reach her eyes.

’’I warned you,’’ Jenny hissed under her breath, just low enough that only Ella could hear, "You should’ve played by the rules."

The more Jenny saw through the derision in the girl’s eye, the further she was reluctant to let this girl have the upper hand.

She tightened her grip, prepared to pull the sheets till they were torn in halves.

But suddenly, Jenny felt a piercing pain as Ella tightened her grip on her wrist.

She instinctively loosened her hold and Ella snatched the papers back, "Careful, Professor. That’s not yours to shred."

Before Jenny could say a word, Ella raised the first answer sheet, ’’98.’’

"97."

"95."

As she read out her marks one by one, she passed the sheets to Kade who turned them around for the public to see.

Ella’s fingers paused near the Mathematics paper. A small twinkle flickered in her eye before it disappeared, "100.’’

At this point, there was silence in the place.

Even Kade cast a disbelieving gaze at Ella.

Ella flipped to the last answer sheet, "Four papers are marked, but you haven’t even checked my paper.’’

As she spoke, Ella raised her hand and flipped the pages where all the answers were unmarked.

The crowd was visibly shocked. A gasp rippled through the students. Even Esther’s smug face faltered for a blink.

And almost instinctively, they turned to Jenny. But seeing that she was standing there calmly, they felt like something was amiss.

"I did not want to do this, Ella but you have crossed your boundary as a student and forced me into revealing this," Jenny stepped forward, "As everyone here should be aware of, you had been suspected of harming and threatening your fellow classmate before."

The moment she said that, multiple gazes shifted to Ruby. Most of the people remembered how a while ago, there were rumors about Ella getting her sugar daddy to harm Ruby for being engaged to her ex-fiance, Maxwell Hill.

But those rumors were dismissed because of the video of Ella and Esther that circulated later.

"You were given a chance again but this time, you threatened your friend yet again."

Jenny did not stop, "Ruby Ambrose is a straight A student. To this day, she has never wavered from the first position. But this time, not only did she not come first, but she scored so terribly low that...’’
