Chapter 177: Back to Eve Mansion

"What do you think of this place?" Ella grabbed Adrian’s hand and led him to the seashore.

Adrian let her drag him around while he looked at Ella’s side profile,"Beautiful."

At a little distance, Ji Yan coughed out the sand that had blown into his mouth in the night wind in this unexpected venue.

Who could blame him? With his Second Master, he had been to lavish places, luncheons, balls, meetings, mansions, offices and what not but this was new to him.

Earlier, when Ji Yan was in the office with Adrian, he got a call from Ella. Before he could greet her, she spoke up—’Don’t say anything. Come out.’

And when Ji Yan went out, Ella ordered him to make some arrangements as they will be heading to the beach.

Imagine Ji Yan’s shock when 10 minutes later, his second master willingly followed Miss Yu.

And in one hour, they were at this never-before-seen venue—sea beach.

"I haven’t shown you the most beautiful things yet and you are already calling it beautiful."

"Already looking at it,’’ Adrian tilted his head to the side, watching as her eyes lit up as she looked around.

"Hmm?" Ella turned to him when suddenly, his broad palm blocked her view. His slender fingers tucked the stray strands of her hair behind her ear, "Most beautiful, indeed."

Ella felt her face heating up under his intense gaze. W-W-Was he flirting with her?

Adrian’s face was solemn as if he was making a business deal.

It took her a few moments before Ella finally came to herself. "Come here," She halted when they reached the seashore.

As Ella kicked off her heels, she turned to him.

Adrian arched a brow, a hint of confusion crossing his features.

"Your shoes. Get them off," Seeing the cluelessness on his face, a strange thought occurred to her, "When was the last time you came to a beach?"

In the process of removing his shoes, he looked at her, "I have never been to a beach before."

Ella paused. From his reaction, she had expected this but now that he said it, she found it hard to believe. Did they raise Adrian under a rock?

It’s not that he did not travel. In one month, he went from city to city, country to country. But why was it that he lacked basic human experiences?

In her previous life, she had never stopped to ponder over anything about him. But this time, she wanted to know more. She wanted to understand why he was the way he was.

"What did you want to talk about?"

Adrian’s question snapped Ella out of her reverie.

Ella was stumped for a moment. The reason she brought Adrian here was because there were a few things she needed to discuss with him.

Things that this tyrant would probably be unwilling to grant her.

So, in order to convince him, she decided to get him out of tyrant-mode. Yet, somehow, it slipped off her mind.

It made Ella pause and reflect. After all, since when did she start forgetting her agendas in front of Adrian?

Pushing these thoughts away, she opened her mouth.

"I am willing to move back to the Eve Mansion but for that, I have my conditions," Ella finally broached the conversation that she had been pondering on for a while now.

"Conditions?"

Months ago, when she asked him to let her go to the university and move to dorms, Ella had felt that deeply-ingrained fear towards him.

She had been afraid that he would lock her up or that he would once again be paranoid. And she was afraid of losing the freedom that she dreamt to have.

But at this moment, despite the lack of a smile on his face, the man did not intimidate her as much.

"You cannot meddle in my business," Ella looked away, not quite ready to see the expression on his face, "I have plans for the future, Adrian. I don’t want you to restrict me. I have told you before that I am unwilling to be a caged canary..."

A firm grip on her chin made her trail off.

In the next moment, Ella felt a piercing pain on her bottom lips.

Adrian bit her lips punishingly and firmly.

Ella’s eyes teared up a little by the force. Was this his way of refusing her? free𝑤ebnovel.com

A hint of anger curled in her chest and without giving it a thought, she grabbed his collar and chomped down on his lips till a metallic taste filled both their mouths.

Adrian’s expressions remained unbothered. As they parted, Ella felt the corner of his lips tugging up a bit, "Kitten," his husky whisper caressed her skin.

And in the next moment, the tip of his tongue caressed her bottom lips.

The waves of the sea crashed against the shore, creating a beautiful ambience. A little distance away, there were a few small restaurants and food stalls.

The stars sparkled especially bright and under the night sky, the two people embraced each other, creating a harmonious silhouette.

Except, only they knew of the tension flickering between them.

Ella pressed her palm on his chest, pressing it twice before he eventually released her lips that seemed to be burning.

Panting slightly, she looked up at him, "Was that a yes?" Ella leaned close to him.

From Adrian’s view, he could see a pair of starry eyes and within them, there was the reflection of his face.

Like a tiny creature, she was leaning towards him helplessly. Yet, those eyes were not helpless. They were far from it.

There was a fire burning in them.

When he did not respond to her, Ella moved to back away from him.

Adrian’s face darkened. He grabbed her waist firmly and planted her on his lap.

He didn’t speak for a while. He only stared at her. Then slowly, he breathed out—

"As long as you don’t put yourself in danger."

And as long as you find your way back to me.

Some words were said, while some were left unsaid.

Yet, there was a struggle visible in his eyes.

Adrian King was the kind of man who got what he wanted. Yet, for once, he seemed to be bending his rules, putting efforts in changing his ways for someone else.

Something that even he did not realize.

Ella did.

She turned around and leaned her head back on his chest.

As they sat there in silence, one person being held in the other’s arms as waves gently caressed their feet, something between them shifted silently.

The next few days, Ella had no time to breathe.

Dean Mo stuck to his words and Jenny was suspended from the university for a month.

People talked about it but it was not as hyped up as they had talked about Ella. At the end of the day, bullying a nobody was easier than bullying a person who had some backing.

On the other hand, the internet was exploding with news after news about Ella.

Ever since the trimmed and edited video of Ella’s confrontation with Jenny, that Ella was certain was the doing of her little sister, had gone viral, people had been watching her movements like a hawk.

And soon enough, her results also went viral along with Jenny’s public apology. People flooded her account with comments and responses.

But all this while, Ella had not made a single post.

Ella was busy with other things. She had pondered about shifting back to the Eve Mansion for some time.

Moving back to the Eve Mansion would save her a lot of trouble. She could avoid unnecessary drama that she was constantly embroiled in.

With Esther showing up at her room every once in a while, peace was the last thing she got.

Not to mention that Adrian also started treating her tiny abode as his second residence.

After all that, Ella had refrained from thinking about moving back to Eve Mansion because she was afraid Adrian and her would, once again, fall back into the same equation if the man suddenly decided that he wanted to keep her away from the world.

But once she got his words, Ella no longer hesitated. No matter how unreasonable a certain tyrant was, he was a man of his words.

Ella remained low-key as she got her stuff shifted back to the Eve Mansion.

But no matter how low-key she was, she could not escape Esther’s gaze.

The day Ella was leaving, Esther rushed up to her.

"Sis, you... You are leaving?" Esther held onto her in disbelief.

Ella did not say anything but her silence answered Esther’s question.

"Why?" Esther demanded. "You hated him! Why would you go back to him?!"

Ella smiled, quietly.

Perhaps realizing that she misspoke, Esther paused for a moment and then softened her tone,"Is he forcing you? Is that beast perhaps threatening you?"

Ella patted Esther’s shoulder before she gently pulled her hand out of her grip, "It has nothing to do with him. I don’t want to stay here anymore."

"You always wanted to stay away from him, from that mansion!" As she spoke, there was a hint of burning envy in her eyes.

The Ella from before had never caught onto Esther’s obsession with Adrian that she hid really well. But now, it was out there in plain sight.

Smiling playfully, Ella blinked, "You mentioned it just now."

"W-What?"
