Reborn With a Money-Making System: Ruined Actress to Nation's Treasure-Chapter 101: The World Finally Saw Me
I clicked the link that led to the online shop selling Rosélle Beauty’s new eyeshadow palette, and my jaw almost dropped. Over 5,000 units had already been sold, and the number was still climbing fast.
It was actually an impressive figure, considering Rosélle Beauty had only launched the product two days ago and hadn’t even done a live stream to promote it yet.
Since my account had been tagged all over the comment section, my own traffic suddenly exploded. My followers jumped from a little over 100k to 300k in just two days. The views and likes on my videos also went through the roof, especially that ridiculous dinosaur costume video.
The comments were overflowing with compliments, some people said I looked as beautiful as a supermodel (a bit much, but fine), others said my skin was glowing, and quite a few said I seemed like a really fun person to talk to... which, well, wasn’t wrong.
Now that people had started recognizing me, I wanted to check my status panel.
Without me even saying anything, Penny immediately pulled it up.

I clapped my hands and did a small jump when I saw the progress. My "Become the Nation’s Treasure" mission had gone up by 7%, and my public favor was almost halfway full. My fame bar was rising, too.
Honestly, I still couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t even done much in the entertainment industry yet, and somehow, my fame and public favor were already growing this fast.
[The beginning may feel easy, but once you reach fifty percent, it’ll be much harder to increase your progress.]
[You really need to take your social media seriously now, Host.]
Penny was right. For now, people only knew me as a model from an ad or the cat lady, but I wanted them to see me as something more than that.
Still, being known as a model and a cat lady was much better than being known as Madeline’s sister.
Speaking of her, it seemed more and more people were starting to realize who I was: the sister who got bullied at the café and in high school. Technically, I wasn’t really Helcia, but still... the way people flooded my comments with pitiful words made me feel a little uncomfortable.
[@bungeege: So Madeline’s sister’s name is Helcia Orszebet? No wonder it was hard to find her, she doesn’t use the Davenport surname!]
[@leonadino111: frfr... that’s so sad. Not only did her sister bully her, but her family also refused to let her use their last name!]
Orszebet was actually her mother’s surname. Even though Helcia had been legally adopted by Gideon, he refused to let her use the Davenport name.
But honestly, I was glad Helcia didn’t carry that family’s name. They never treated her like family anyway, so why bother carrying their surname for life?
Besides, Orszebet sounded much more elegant, and it already felt like Helcia Orszebet was born to be a star. Well, at least Helcia’s mother wasn’t terrible at naming her daughter.
While I was still scrolling through the comments, I suddenly received a call from Marissa.
"Helcia, where are you?" she asked, her voice slightly panicked. She was probably worried since I hadn’t updated her after texting that it was finally my turn to audition.
"I’m in the bathroom," I said. "I cried too hard during the audition, so I need to fix my makeup now." Before she could say anything, I quickly added, "It was a crying scene, not because the judges scolded me."
I heard Marissa let out a long sigh of relief on the other end. "Which bathroom are you in? I’ll come to you. And how did it go? Did everything run smoothly?"
I told her where I was and started explaining what had happened during the audition. Before I could even finish, she had already shown up at the door.
She handed me an iced orange juice with a small smile. "Yeah, you really do look miserable right now," she teased. "Anyone walking in would probably think something awful happened during your audition."
I chuckled softly as I accepted the drink. "That just means my acting was really convincing."
Marissa smiled and leaned against the sink. "That’s true. Maybe that’s why the producer decided to put you on his recommendation list." She let out a soft sigh before adding, just as I was patting the cushion on my face, "Helcia, you’ve really gone beyond what I expected."
I froze for a second, a little flustered by the unexpected compliment. "You haven’t even seen my audition recording yet."
She laughed and shook her head. "I don’t need to. Just from the practice videos you sent me the other day, I can already tell your chances of passing are really high."
I set the cushion down and turned to her with a smile. "Thank you," I said softly. "For always believing in my talent."
I knew that even though Marissa had always said she saw my potential, she’d been hesitant to sign a contract with me for years. If Lando hadn’t been her old friend, I probably wouldn’t even have a manager like her right now.
"I just have good eyes," she said with a grin.
We both smiled before I went back to fixing my makeup. As I was finishing up, Marissa suddenly added, "Roselle Beauty actually contacted me earlier."
She explained, "They want you to promote their products on your Zentra account. Besides the fixed payment, you’ll also get a commission every time someone buys through your link."
I immediately turned toward her, eyes wide. "Oh my... that’s amazing!" I asked, "How much is the fixed fee they’re offering?"
Marissa scrolled through her phone for a moment before answering, "They’re offering fifteen thousand dollars for a one-month campaign."
My jaw nearly dropped. "Fifteen thousand? For just one month?"
