Even if Adrienne Jiang tried to escape, she wouldn’t be able to leave the mansion easily. His personal guards were roaming around outside and no one would dare to interrupt him tonight. Ares couldn’t wait to break her until she yielded to him willingly. He stepped inside the darkened room, waiting for the right time to sneak into the other room and join the sleeping woman on the bed.

After a few minutes, Ares heard a knock from the other door, followed by Adrienne’s bodyguard’s faint voice.

"Miss, are you still awake? I’m about to head back to the Zhao estate to pick up some clothes for you. I’ll return as soon as I can."

Ares felt ecstatic. He couldn’t believe that things were going smoothly according to his plan. Though he found it suspicious that Adrienne wasn’t showing any effects of the aphrodisiac her stepmother had given her, the paralytic drug should be enough to keep her weak.

Meanwhile, Camilla had returned to the resting room across the banquet hall with Madam Gu. The two had a mutual understanding of how they should act tonight. She sat on the couch while Madam Gu stood with a cup of wine.

"If tonight’s matter turned out successful, you will reap a lot of benefits from it, but if it fails..." Madam Gu gave Camilla a knowing smile. When she spoke, there wasn’t any amiable expression on her face, and her eyes were filled with mockery.

Camilla forced a smile. "Madam Gu, rest assured Addie won’t be leaving your mansion anytime soon. Everything is handled by me and since Adrienne and I couldn’t get along no matter how hard I try to win her favor, I can only hope she would realize that I’m doing this for her own good."

Madam Gu’s expression eased down before nodding her head in agreement. However, Camilla knew that with Adrienne’s temperament, she would surely hate her to death and wouldn’t treat her well. Camilla couldn’t help but be nervous thinking about the outcome of tonight’s plan.

If Ares succeeded, Elise’s future would be secured and Adrienne’s reputation would be destroyed completely. Camilla had to admit that the plan her sister-in-law, Maryam, and niece, Ayla, made was outstanding. Camilla knew that she could not have devised a better scheme to trap Adrienne than this.

She knew Ayla had an eye on Alistair Han, but the man was somewhat drawn to Rosemary’s daughter. Because of this, Ayla would need to push Adrienne out of her way to ensnare Alistair Han later.

After saying a few more sentences, Madam Gu left to greet the other guests at the banquet hall.

"Madam, are you sure you want to stay here tonight? Won’t you be implicated in this if the plan failed?" Camilla’s trusted maid asked her.

"It doesn’t matter. Father and my husband permitted me to look over the matter. Tomorrow morning, no one would dare to point fingers at me as Rosemary Zhao’s daughter becomes a laughingstock in the city." Camilla’s laughter was somewhat vicious.

"That mother and daughter pair have been a thorn in our eyes for the longest time. Who told them to block my future and snatch Elise’s birthright?"

She wouldn’t have been deemed a shameless mistress had Rosemary not snatched her man. Rosemary might have been kept safe by the Zhao family for now, but she cannot avoid her death.

As for Adrienne, once she tied the loose ends, that little bitch could just follow her mother to the afterlife. Not even the Zhao family could save her this time. With her wings clipped, she would find it difficult to change the course of her fate tonight.

The only thorn left to deal with was Hunter Nian. Her husband was unaware that his firstborn son was still alive. Camilla never thought Eleanor would betray her and keep the child to herself, raising him as her own.

"Miss Elise would be overjoyed tomorrow once she receives the news. It’s too bad she couldn’t join the fun tonight as she was suddenly ill."

Elise had been under the weather since yesterday. She complained about having a splitting headache last night and woke up this morning with a slight fever. Camilla would have wanted for her daughter to stay at home, but Elise insisted she wanted to see how Adrienne would be ruined in the end. She took medication to lower her fever before leaving.

However, no one expected Elise’s fever to get worse an hour ago. Beads of sweat appeared on her face and her breath became labored. In the end, she was forced to rest in one of the guest rooms of the Gu family, failing to fulfill her agenda to socialize with other guests that could help her in the future.

The music continued to play, but the guests at the banquet hall chose to be seated, casually conversing with each other and unaware that a young woman was about to lose her innocence that night.

A man stepped out of the closet, silently closing the doors behind him. His eyes were drunk, taking in the form of the woman in the bed, filled with lust. He liked his bed activities to be done with lights out, his partner struggling initially until she eventually gave in and participated in the act.

"Adrienne Jiang, tonight, you will be mine. This one wanted to see if you are also as feral and wild in bed as you are in public. There’s no need to be afraid. I’ll take care of you very well." A cruel smile appeared on his lips.

His footsteps could be heard heading towards the bed. The curtains were pulled off according to his instructions, leaving only a faint light from the moon in the sky to illuminate the dim room.

Sounds of clothes being ripped filled the silent room, and only a weak moan escaped from the woman’s lips. Elise cracked her eyes, but she felt dizzy and weak. She wasn’t sure what was happening as she could only feel a sharp pain through her body until she could hear nothing but slapping sounds and the bed beneath her creaking.
