Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 427: Die, You Little B*tch (1)
While Leigh and Kalista were escorting Noah and Scarlett to the hotel’s underground park, Adrienne decided to stop by the washroom to freshen up before joining them. She quickly touched up her makeup and fixed her hair, ensuring she looked presentable for the dinner celebration.
Lennox had come to pick them up and was waiting outside the hotel lobby. Vaughn proudly introduced his teammates to his older brother before joining him to wait for Adrienne.
Irina accompanied her and waited inside the washroom, looking for potential interruptions. Adrienne didn’t like causing trouble for others in public, so the usual protocol was to keep a low profile and avoid drawing attention to herself.
Irina hadn’t expected they weren’t the only ones inside the washroom. When she looked under the cubicle earlier, it didn’t seem someone was in there.
However, she hadn’t expected something to attack her from behind as soon as Adrienne entered one of the cubicles. Someone hit her on the head, stabbing her in the back.
The attacker held her body and gently placed Irina on the floor, ensuring that she did not make a sound while Adrienne was occupying one of the cubicles.
Irina was still conscious but felt dizzy and disoriented from the blow. She could feel blood seeping from her head. She desperately tried to gather her thoughts and assess the situation, but the pain in her head made it difficult to focus.
The person who attacked her seemed to be a man and wasn’t young. He was wearing a cap and a mask that shielded half of his face. But Irina managed to recognize the man. She did not doubt that his real target wasn’t her but Adrienne.
She heard a flushing sound from the cubicle where Adrienne was and saw that the door was about to open. Irina desperately shouted, "Madam, be careful!"
But her warning came too late, as the man dressed in black suddenly came into Adrienne without hesitation, stabbing a dagger directed at her belly.
Adrienne was startled when she heard Irina’s scream. She turned around and saw the man dressed in black standing over her, his eyes filled with malice, and realized that she was in grave danger.
Everything happened too fast; before Adrienne had time to process what had just happened, she felt a stabbing pain in her midsection. She pushed the person away from her and held onto her wound, feeling the warm blood seeping through her fingers.
The world seemed to stop, and Adrienne turned to see the person who just attacked her. Adrienne couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The person whom she least expected to hurt her was standing a couple of feet away from her, holding a bloody dagger with a sinister smile on his face.
"Why..." She whispered, her voice filled with shock and betrayal. She could feel her blood rushing through her veins as her heart pounded in her chest.
Her father had just attacked Adrienne. Her mind raced as she tried to understand what had just happened. Behind her father, she saw Irina injured as well. The scene before her was a nightmare come to life.
"Why?" Her father laughed evilly. "I lost everything because of you, Addie. If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t lose the company. I wouldn’t lose my father and my wife!"
Irina, slowly losing consciousness, desperately pushed a button on her coat to activate the hidden distress signal. She knew other guards were waiting outside the restroom and could come to their aid if they received the signal.
The three lady guards who were outside hurried to enter the restroom and assess the situation. The sight in the restroom startled them, but as soon as they saw Adrienne heavily injured and a suspicious man standing near her, they immediately sprang into action.
Without hesitation, they tackled the suspicious man to the ground, restraining him until backup arrived. Their training kicked in as they swiftly assessed Adrienne’s injuries and called for medical assistance.
Lennox and Vaughn, who were in the lobby, also heard the distress call. They immediately ran to where Adrienne was and found the frightening situation inside the restroom. Irina had a gush in her head and lay unconscious on the ground. Meanwhile, Adrienne was being held by one of her guards, who was applying pressure to her wound, while the other guard called for an ambulance.
Lewis Jiang was pinned to the floor, watching with laughter as Adrienne bled profusely. He was hoping Adrienne would die so the misfortune in his family would finally end. He was laughing like a maniac and kept saying, "Die, you little bitch’ like some sort of mantra.
Vaughn was shocked to see his sister-in-law hurt by her father, couldn’t contain his anger, and pounced on Lewis.
"Shut up!" He yelled and repeatedly punched the older man’s face. He had never felt so much rage before in his life.
This day was supposed to be a celebration, a joyful gathering of loved ones. Instead, hatred and violence had turned it into a horrifying nightmare.
"Addie!" Lennox shouted and rushed to his wife, snatching her from her bodyguard’s arms.
Adrienne’s white bodycon dress was now stained with her blood, the vibrant color muted by the dark red. Lennox’s heart raced as he assessed the severity of her injuries, desperately hoping that help would arrive in time to save her.
"Addie, Addie?" He called out, his voice filled with panic.
Adrienne held onto his arm and called his name. "Len..."
"I’m here, baby. Please stay with me," he pleaded, tears streaming down his face.
Lennox then turned to others and shouted, "Someone, call the ambulance!"
Adrienne was getting pale and could feel her husband’s tears falling on her arm. She looked at her husband, her lips curling into a smile. She hadn’t anticipated that something like this would happen and wished she had told Lennox more about how much she loved him. But she knew it was too late now.
"Len, thank you for loving me. I am happiest when I’m with you."
Lennox felt his throat tighten before shaking his head. He felt like he couldn’t breathe, as if a weight had been placed on his chest.
"Stop, Addie. Stay with me, baby. You know I cannot be without you." He said desperately. "The ambulance will be here soon."
Adrienne coughed violently, struggling to catch her breath. Blood gushed out of her wound as Lennox desperately tried to stop her bleeding. A pool of blood formed around her, staining the ground beneath her body.
Adrienne inhaled sharply as the pain intensified. She fought to keep herself conscious, determined to stay alive and see another day.
"Is Noah and Scarlett with you?" She asked, hoping the children wouldn’t see the state she was in.
Lennox shook her head and held her tightly. He whispered, ’They’re safe.’"
And then, with determination, he told her, "Stay with me, Addie. You promised me... you promised me..."
Feeling impatient with the lack of help, Lennox lifted her and carried her outside the restroom. He held her into his arms and panicked when he felt Adrienne’s breathing gradually weakening.
"Where’s the ambulance? Damn it!" He yelled in the hallway, garnering attention from the other hotel guests. "Why isn’t it here yet? Where’s the ambulance!"
Finally, the sound of sirens approaching in the distance could be heard. Medical personnel rushed into the hotel, ready to help Adrienne. Lennox laid his wife on the stretcher, seeing that she had already lost consciousness from the amount of blood she lost.
