Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance-Chapter 24. Spending The Night With Mira.

Noticing how Ray had fallen silent, Marcus was now even more certain that he must be the adventurer Lord Fluffybottom was looking for.

"Ray?" He called out. "I just thought you should know what’s going on outside the village. So, please, try to stay low for now, and that means no dungeons and no leaving the village to fight off monsters in other territories either, understood?"

"Yes." Ray nodded and Marcus clapped him on the shoulder.

"You’re a good kid, Ray. Just be smart with whatever you try to do in the future because the world has a way of crushing people who stand out too early, okay?"

"Okay. Thank you, Marcus."

Marcus waved goodbye as he turned around and walked away from the house.

After Marcus left, Ray stood on the porch, staring at the horizon.

He had never expected himself to make such a mistake.

He had thought that no one knew about the dungeon. But now, it turned out that Lord Fluffybottom had been the one who didn’t want word of the dungeon to be revealed yet.

And now that the dungeon had been cleared, he had sent out men to look for him.

*Sighs*

Ray sighed softly as he tried not to think too much about it right now.

And so, with nothing else to do, Ray went back in to have dinner with everyone else.

That night, after everyone else had fallen asleep and Ray had gone to his bedroom, Mira came to his room.

She slipped inside and closed the door softly.

"Ray?"

Ray sat up on his bed and asked. "Mira? What’s wrong?"

Mira crossed the room and sat on the edge of the bed. "You’ve been quiet since you talked with Marcus earlier this evening, is everything okay?"

Helen had noticed it too, so she had asked Mira to talk to Ray.

Meanwhile, Ray sighed before answering. "Yes, everything is fine. I just heard that there have been rumors circling within Lord Fluffybottom’s territory about an Adventurer who had cleared a dungeon no one was supposed to clear."

Mira furrowed her brows and asked. "But if he didn’t want anyone finding the dungeon, shouldn’t he have placed guards there or something?"

"I think he just didn’t want many people finding out the dungeon’s location. Or maybe he doesn’t trust his own guards or it could be for an entirely different reason altogether."

"But if word got out that an Adventurer had cleared the dungeon, do you really think they can trace it back to you?"

"Nah, I doubt that."

"Then why have you been worried all evening?"

"I just thought that I should have been more careful, that’s all."

*Sighs* Mira sighed softly. "Come to think of it, how did Marcus know of the rumor if he lives here in Thornsville?"

"He’s a merchant, Mira, so he’s got contacts in other baronies around us."

Mira nodded slowly as she tried to shake off her suspicion towards Marcus. "So, what now?" She asked as she took his hand.

"Nothing changes," Ray replied as he pulled her into his arms. " We continue your training, but I promise it will be more intense from here on out."

"I can’t wait." Mira smiled and kissed his cheek.

The two stayed together for a while, then Mira said softly as she pulled away. "I should go now since we have a lot to do tomorrow."

"Stay. I want to sleep with you tonight." Ray pulled her back and the cute Tauren blushed hard before giving him a nod.

Of course, she knew that he didn’t mean it sexually, but she couldn’t help but feel flustered by how he had said it.

She lay down beside him and rested her head on his chest, with her arms across his waist.

Ray held her closely as he breathed in the lavender scent of her hair before falling soundly asleep.

The next day, Ray increased Mira’s training intensity.

They moved from basic drills to live sparring.

Of course, Ray held back significantly, but he made sure to spar in a way that would force Mira to react, defend, and counter.

Thankfully, Ray was able to see some really good results for someone who wasn’t even an Awakened.

Mira was getting better, faster, and stronger.

And so, the sparring session continued for days.

One afternoon, during a sparring session, Mira was finally able to land a hit on Ray, as her practice spear tapped Ray’s shoulder.

Mira froze and was understandably shocked.

Seeing this, Ray smiled and grinned. "Very good, you’re improving."

Mira’s ears twitched and her face lit up with pride.

That night, the two sat on the porch and Mira called out to him. "Ray?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For training me and for believing that I could do this."

Ray smiled and kissed her forehead. "It’s nothing. My future wife needed my help, so it was expected of me to do my best to make her happy. Besides, you’re stronger than you think. You just needed someone to guide you."

Hearing this, Mira smiled and then rested her head on his shoulder. "Thanks Ray, you’re the best."

"I know."

Mira rolled her eyes with a smile on her lips. "Dummy."

"Well, if I’m a dummy, then that makes you Mrs. Dummy."

Mira chuckled softly and locked her arms with his. "Then I guess I am."

The two fell silent again and spent the rest of the evening just relaxing together.
