Reincarnated as a Divine Tree-Chapter 150Vol. 1 - - The Return of the Wolf King
Chen Xingzhen fell into deep thought upon hearing this.
Jade coins had never circulated around Chaotic Burial Mountain. In the past, both the family and the villagers relied on bartering.
Now, with the sudden appearance of jade coins, it was inevitable that the villagers would struggle to accept them. After all, they couldn’t comprehend how a small jade coin could be exchanged for their hard-earned harvest.
But with the family’s growing external connections, this change was only a matter of time. The sooner it happened, the better.
Introducing jade coins to Chaotic Burial Mountain would also smooth the family’s development.
After brief consideration, Chen Xingzhen personally wrote several notices and posted them in various market areas within the Chen family’s territory. He then ordered his clansmen to spread the word to nearby villages: if anyone was concerned about not being able to use jade coins, they could come to the Chen family and exchange them for grain and other essentials.
At the same time, he instructed his clansmen to explain the purchasing power of jade coins to the villagers.
With that settled, Chen Xingzhen was no longer worried. With the family’s backing, there shouldn’t be any major issues.
It was late autumn, and the blood rice the family had planted last month had already reached a considerable height. Blood rice remained the family's most valuable resource and required meticulous care.
Moreover, they still had the Zhou family looming over them. Though the Zhou family’s token seemed insignificant, they couldn’t afford any missteps.
Just as Chen Xingzhen was preparing to personally inspect the fields, a clansman rushed over to report.
"Clan Leader, some green wolves have appeared outside Chaotic Burial Mountain again. I took a closer look—they seem to be the same ones that escaped last time."
"Hmm?"
Chen Xingzhen frowned.
The mountain had only just begun to restore its natural balance. How had the green wolves they had driven away returned so soon?
Had the wolf pack already chosen a new and powerful Wolf King in just a few short months? And did these wolves intend to seek revenge?
This didn’t surprise Chen Xingzhen. Wolves were cunning and vengeful creatures. Their desire for retaliation was not unexpected. However, for these green wolves to harbor such intent, it was evident that the new Wolf King wasn’t weak. It was highly likely that it had already reached the Innate Realm.
Even so, Chen Xingzhen remained composed. The family's martial strength had significantly improved. These green wolves were no longer a real threat.
Still, the beasts of Chaotic Burial Mountain were a valuable resource, and the family had to be proactive in dealing with them.
"I understand. Go and tell Qingyu to head into the mountains."

"Yes, Clan Leader."
Chen Qingyu had made substantial progress in the Innate Realm, fully mastering the family’s combat techniques. Even if he encountered an Innate-level green wolf, he would be able to return safely. This mission was his best fit.
Yet, as this thought crossed his mind, Chen Xingzhen shook his head.
The family still had too few warriors in the Innate Realm. Although the number of Blood Coagulation Realm cultivators had reached double digits, most were only in the early stages. As for the late-stage Blood Coagulation Realm, there were only three—himself, along with Chen Tianyu and Chen Tianjing.
He was already too old to have any hope of breaking through to the Innate Realm. Chen Tianyu and Chen Tianjing had promising potential, but they had only recently advanced to the late stage of the Blood Coagulation Realm. Their blood essence was not yet fully refined, and they still had a long way to go before reaching the Innate Realm.
Though it seemed like just a single realm apart, that gap could take years to bridge. But time was not a luxury the family could afford. That made the rare treasures sold in Yong’an City even more crucial.
They would have to wait until the family harvested this batch of blood rice. Only then could they sell the surplus in Yong’an City and exchange it for precious treasures like Purple Ganoderma.
However, the next blood rice sale might not be as easy as the first. Careful planning was necessary.
Hearing the cries of a newborn from within the clan, Chen Xingzhen cast aside his thoughts and turned toward the fields.
Autumn was fleeting. The family needed to remain stable and prepared.
…
That night, beneath a sky of scattered stars and a waning moon, a high slope at the edge of Chaotic Burial Mountain became the stage for an eerie scene.
Two massive green wolves, their fur sleek and glistening, stood on opposite sides of the ridge. Their heads lifted toward the sky as they released long, haunting howls that echoed through the wilderness.
Between them sat an even larger green wolf, its thick mane streaked with black.
Its deep blue-green eyes glowed faintly, and its imposing presence alone was enough to subdue the wolves below.
At first glance, this new Wolf King appeared even more formidable than the last. But if one looked closely, they would notice a flicker of uncertainty in its gleaming eyes.
In that moment, memories surged in the green wolf’s mind, dragging it back to that fateful day a few months ago.
Back then, it had been nothing more than a frail, outcast lone wolf—rejected by the pack, forced to wander the wilderness, living each day on the brink of starvation. Then, one day, while hunting, it had been knocked off a cliff by that damned Black Gold Beast.
It had thought that would be the end of its miserable existence. But to its astonishment, at the bottom of the ravine, a strange plant had been growing.
A fragrant scent had wafted from the plant, and without hesitation, it devoured it.
The moment it did, its body underwent drastic changes. It grew larger, stronger—and, oddly enough, more intelligent. But the most baffling change was that it no longer needed to eat meat. Grass alone could sustain it. Even more bizarre, the taste of grass had become incredibly delicious.
With each passing day, it devoured dozens of pounds of vegetation, its body growing more robust, its stature towering.
This discovery filled it with newfound confidence. This time, it would reclaim everything that had once been denied to it.
Months passed, and at last, it climbed back up the cliff. The first thing it saw was that detestable Black Gold Beast.
Hatred burned in its heart. Before it could take its place as Wolf King, it would start by devouring that beast. But after just two exchanges, the familiar brute sent it hurtling off the cliff once more.
Only then did it realize the truth—it had grown in size, but its strength had not increased. If anything, it had diminished.
Before, it had been able to fight the Black Gold Beast for several rounds. Now, it couldn't even last one.
The revelation left it lost and bewildered.
In the end, it resigned itself to fate. There was no need to fight. It would simply live out its days eating grass.
The grass, after all, tasted divine.
But as it devoured the last of the vegetation at the bottom of the cliff, its body swelled even further. Though it exuded an intimidating aura, deep down, it knew the truth—its strength had waned even more.
With no food left, it climbed back up again.
This time, it didn’t see the Black Gold Beast. Instead, it encountered a group of green wolves—its old pack.
Bracing itself for rejection, it was instead met with something unexpected.
The wolves recognized it. They lowered themselves in submission, acknowledging it as their leader.
Only then did it realize—it had grown several times larger than any of them.
