He had already completed using two of his skills at least once. Two more remained. But they required targets.

First, he had to copy a skill, or maybe even a simple movement, from someone. Second, he had to use the ’pretending’ skill, which he didn’t know what he had to pose as.

Pretend to be what? Weakling? Boss? Brother? Sister? Hmm...

And as he tapped his chin a few times, he noticed the eyes again.

Hmph. I guess they wouldn’t be spiders if they couldn’t shoot webs...

Pebbles was fascinated. His eyes remained wide open, almost to the extent that they dried up, and his lower jaw almost touched the floor. Drops of drool fell on the ground, but that part was unintentional.

When he finally came to his senses, he tried closing his mouth, only to slurp away the remaining saliva that had collected in his mouth.

He shook his head to calm himself. He almost choked from the saliva...

He thought about using the skill copy, and then the familiar system prompt appeared.

Pebbles kept his mouth shut. He had decided not to waste his time engaging with the system and use his last skill.

He had thought to himself that when he’d used copy, the system had recognized a rock to be a target. This meant that, he could simply use the skill against a rock and be done with it.

Pebbles eyes had widened and he had struck a weird pose momentarily. He also had this absurd smile on his face, thinking his job was soon going to be done and he could at least finish the first task.

But...

He didn’t know that the pretender skill didn’t work on one specific target, nor did it ask for targets to be chosen.

It just worked against whoever saw him...

He felt a slight touch on his tail.

"Huh?" he turned around instantly, almost as if he was performing a ballet, on one leg.
