Reincarnated as a Lizard-Chapter 357: Sixth Evolution (4)
Thinking through the three different evolutions that stood before her, Scaly could not help glancing towards the dream weaver dragon evolution. Although it came with the most negatives, it should also be the strongest one amongst the three evolutions she felt were suitable for her sixth evolution.
The problem was, as she felt herself getting ready to pick the dream weaver dragon evolution, she suddenly realized at the back of her mind that the description of the dream weaver dragon didn’t specifically mention anything about her being strong enough to fight the devourer of dreams or demigods of the dreamscape. Only that she would be able to scare them off... And alongside the ability of a dream weaver dragon to weave dreams into reality, she suddenly had a feeling that the reason why she might be avoided by those powerful beings might not have anything to do with her being strong enough to threaten them.
On the contrary, she had a feeling that the reason why those so-called demigods of the dreamscape chose to avoid her had to do with the fact that she potentially gained the ability o weave whatever these demigods of the dreamscape feared into reality, something that in turn caused them to avoid her if possible when she reached a level where she would become capable of something like that.
The more she thought about it, the more this made sense, as the description had never actually stated how strong she was. Only that her dream magic would be stronger than normal... And so far, she didn’t exactly learn any powerful dream magic and only really knew how to use it to enter and exit the dreamscape or traverse through the sky of the dreamscape.
If anything, from her dreamscale dragon evolution, she now knew that whatever abilities a dream weaver dragon was known for, she would have to somehow learn on her own in the same way she had originally learnt to enter the dreamscape and traverse through the sky of the dreamscape.
A task that would undoubtedly take a long time considering how difficult it already was for her to learn dream magic in the first place... And she didn’t really have much patience to sit down and slowly learn this unique new dream magic that she should be capable of learning after becoming a dream weaver dragon.
And so... In a short time, the dream weaver dragon evolution was eliminated as a potential evolution, as she was now left with only the second stage of the dreamscale dragon and mist dragon evolutions.
The first being the second stage of her current evolution would only strengthen what she had already learnt and potentially even give her greater advantages in the dreamscape, while the second seemed more suitable for the material plane.
Even if there was poison magic to learn, she didn’t exactly feel as troubled by something like that compared to dream magic, as poison magic was far easier for her to understand.
None of these two evolutions had any obvious weaknesses or advantages over the other, as they seemed to be specialized for either the dreamscape or the material plane. Meaning that, her choice ultimately became for her to choose between the material plane and the dreamscape as her future location for hunting.
With that in mind, the choice became a bit easier for her, as she stopped thinking too much about how much cooler she would be as a massive mist dragon and instead focused on what was best for her in the future.
After all, her goal was never to end at her next evolution, it was just another step forward toward becoming the strongest dragon in the world and a future evolution would undoubtedly be far larger and more intimidating compared to the evolutions currently available to her.
Whatever she ended up choosing would ultimately only be temporary.
Not to mention, even if the second stage of the dreamscale dragon evolution was smaller than the mist dragon evolution, it was still twice as large as her current form. Meaning her length would be over four meters and her wingspan over eight.
Feeling a bit troubled as she thought about this, Scaly realized that it might not be the best choice for her to evolve into a mist dragon like she had originally wanted to do.
Not only because she still had adventurers hunting her down in the material plane, but also because she had a feeling that her far larger size wouldn’t exactly be helpful when it came to avoiding those adventurers.
Even if she did manage to escape from them, there was still the far stronger adventurer behind them that exceeded the S Rank... And though she was confident that she would soon be able to take on such a powerful adventurer, she doubted she would have the ability to do so immediately after her evolution. Especially so before she learnt how to use her poison magic.
Because of this, she had a feeling that her best choice might be to continue along the path of a dreamscale dragon for now. At least in the dreamscape, she didn’t have to worry about being chased.
After all, even though that powerful adventurer had been able to chase her into the dreamscape, it had been clear that doing so had significantly weakened his strength to the point where she doubted, he would be much of a threat to her. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
[Do you want to evolve into a Dreamscale Dragon (Second Stage)?]: [Y/N]
Yes!
With that in mind, after a brief struggle, she ultimately chose to continue along the path of a dreamscale dragon for now.
Not just because it seemed like the best choice, but also because part of her felt somewhat reluctant to give up her beautiful scales, as she had really grown to love her dreamy and mystical appearance after becoming a dreamscale dragon.
If possible, she also wanted to retain these beautiful scales if possible and didn’t want to give them up in a future evolution...
