Reincarnated as a Lizard-Chapter 362: Dealing with the Imposters~
Watching the group of troublemakers daring enough to not just impersonate someone from the church, but also the Red Dawn Legion, the five who should have already left for the dreamscape under normal circumstances kept their attention on the group of seniors from the Red Dawn Legion already making their way over towards the group daring enough to impersonate as someone from the Red Dawn Legion.
"Huh? Who are you? Do you-"
Seeing them approaching with a clearly unfriendly look in their eyes, the older of the two troublemakers who had been harassing the younger woman alongside her father stepped forward to call out to the seniors from the Red Dawn Legion. Only to end up being completely ignored, as the focus of these seniors weren’t on the two of them but had instead been entirely focused on the group of people standing protectively behind them.
"You! How dare you be so rude to my father? I will have you know that I-"
BANG!
Stepping forward to block the group of old people who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, the younger of the two troublemakers barely found himself uttering a few words before one of the seniors in question lost his patience and directly knocked the rude fellow flying into a nearby wall. The impact alone being far beyond what someone at his level could endure, as he ended up directly fainting from the impact. Sliding down under the shocked gasps of both spectators and the group of imposters now directly facing off against this group of older people.
"Huh...?"
"That- Powerful!"
"Who are these old people...?"
None of them expected the strength of these seniors, that they had originally just believed had been unable to endure the scene, were that strong. Having only thought they were a group of seniors who wanted to step up for the young lady and her father as responsible seniors.
Even the group who had been busy harassing the young lady and her father were left dumfounded at what had just happened. Not just because of the show of strength, but because all of them knew full well that the younger rotund man who had just been sent flying had strength comparable to that of a B Rank Adventurer.
For someone to be capable of knocking aside a B Rank Adventurer with such ease didn’t just need to have reached the A Rank in terms of strength but undoubtedly ranked towards the top of the A Rank, close to the S Rank.
With that in mind, the group of imposters who hadn’t originally been paying too much attention to the group of seniors instantly became far more alert as they observed the group closer. Only now realizing that the group were wearing robes carrying the holy symbols and other engravings belonging to the Holy Light Church.
However, contrary to the panicked reaction one might have expected from this group of imposters upon encountering the ones they were impersonating, they instead showed a relived expression before once again taking on the arrogant expressions that they had been carrying a second before the earlier interruption.
"Halt! Who are you to attack a member of the Red Dawn Legion?! Hm? Those robes... Are you impersonating as a member of the Great Holy Light Church!?"
And not wasting a second, one of the imposters dressed in what could only be described as shoddy cosplay of the Red Dawn Legion’s armor stepped forward to stop the group of seniors with an arrogant smile barely hidden on his face.
"Red Dawn Legion you say? And we are impersonating as someone from the Holy Light Church? Are you sure it isn’t the other way around?" Barely containing his anger, the older veteran from the Red Dawn Legion who was standing in front of the group of seniors, who were now barely holding themselves back from flaying the arrogant impersonator alive, spoke with a look of doubt slowly emerging after examining the posture of the arrogant impersonator.
Doubt at the arrogant behavior that seemed completely out of place considering that the other party should already know that they were indeed members of the Holy Light Church even if they didn’t recognize them as seniors from the Red Dawn Legion.
"How darer you! This captain will teach you troublemakers a lesson you won’t forget for daring to impersonate as members of the Holy Light Church!" Seemingly having waited for just this opportunity, a bulky middle-aged man stepped forward with a malicious smile plastered all over his face.
Just from his presence alone, it was easy for the group of veterans from the Red Dawn Legion to tell that this so-called captain was the S Rank Adventurer that they had heard about before arriving. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
The problem was, they had no idea why these impersonators were so intent on escalating the current situation to this point. After all, they saw no reason in doing any of this as the entire situation would be simple enough to repair after they were exposed as impersonators and dealt with.
As for this entire situation being some trick used by one of the enemies of the two major powers that were the Adventurer Guild and the Holy Light Church... That was even less likely, as this kind of small situation would be far from enough to cause any damage to the relationship between the two major powers, even if this group of troublemakers had indeed been part of the Red Dawn Legion, let alone when they were just a group of impersonators.
With that in mind, the group of experienced seniors from the Red Dawn Legion quickly shifted through countless reasons behind the current spectacle playing out even in their enraged state and soon enough landed on the only realistic reason for the current play that was playing out in front of them... And that was the entire thing being a distraction.
But a distraction for what was the question that now needed an answer, an answer that none of these seniors had, as they weren’t exactly familiar with Temple Guard City nor what might need this kind of serious distraction directly involving someone at the S Rank along with several subordinates around the B and A Rank in terms of strength.
And to be honest... This group of veterans from the Red Dawn Legion didn’t entirely care about what this group was distracting for, as all they knew for certain was that their beloved legion was being dragged through the dirt for this so-called distraction.
Even if this group of imposters might have thought that they were more than strong enough to run away when needed after a fight broke out, they were seriously unlucky this time around, as this group of veterans had no plans of allowing this group of imposters to simply run away after their goal of causing a big enough distraction had been accomplished.
For this reason, by the time that the imposter with S Rank strength made his move, the older one in the lead had already signaled to his old teammates-
Swish~!
"Wha-!?"
And before the S Rank Adventurer disguised as a captain of the Red Dawn Legion had the time to react, the group of Red Dawn Legion Veterans had already burst forth with a terrifying killing intent that even left someone of his caliber shivering in fear, as a dozen deadly attacks had seemingly materialized out of thin air and were already about to reach his vital spots.
The speed and accuracy of the attacks far surpassing anything this S Rank Adventurer had expected, as the group of Red Dawn Legion Veterans fully showcased their terrifying power.
Even if he could fall back and avoid some of the attacks, the coordination from the veterans had long since anticipated a rapid retreat, as new deadly attack materialized out of thin air to block any potential retreat.
In just a single move, a powerful S Rank Adventurer had been rendered completely helpless with nowhere to go. Only able to helplessly watch the dozen or so deadly attacks closing in on him from all directions. Unaware of where he had gone wrong.
Ptsh-!
"Aaaah!"
In the end, as he attempted to save himself from the deadly situation with all his strength, he still ended up finding himself with an arm missing after the initial attack.
And... Initial attack was just that, there was still another row of attacks lined up behind that first attack, as the S Rank Adventurer who normally stood at the top, found himself being toyed with by this group of veterans from the Red Dawn Legion.
Ptsh~
By the time he collapsed on the ground covered in blood with both arms missing and barely alive. Only a few seconds had passed. Not enough time for the group behind him nor the spectators to react to the sudden turn of events.
By the time they realized what had happened, everything was already over, as the group behind the bloody endeavor had already sheathed their weapons and were slowly making their way towards the remaining imposters now shivering in fear in the face of the seemingly harmless seniors.
