Reincarnated as an Energy with a System-Chapter 1715: Losing Senses
Ning's life sense told him people were coming out of the bushes, so one of them would grab the sword he just threw away.
He couldn't afford to not look at the fighters in front of him as he couldn't rely on his hearing at all. And Life Sense didn't tell him what the others were doing at all.
Ning fought another person when his allies finally arrived, fighting with long sticks, with Matthew the leader holding the sword he threw behind.
Ning felt a little freer as help arrived. He turned to look at Matthew and noticed his lips moving.
"Just so you know, I cannot hear anything. That man's powers most likely," Ning said. "Just let me fight on my own."
Matthew looked at him for a moment and nodded. There was nothing more to say.
Ning looked toward the leader of the enemy soldiers and saw him unmoving from where he stood. The others had left his side, so Ning decided he was going to attack him.
He quickly dodged past a few attacks and made his way right up to the leader. The leader took a single look at him and Ning found himself stumbling.
Ning fell to the ground, unsure what was happening. He didn't feel anything was wrong with his body, but for some reason, it didn't behave as he wanted it to.
The man pulled the sword up and slammed it down toward Ning.
Ning rolled, barely moving out of the way of the sword strike. Once he was far enough, he got up.
'The hell was that?' he thought, confused.
The enemy leader made his way toward Ning. Ning tried to take the distance advantage a spear gave him and stab the man, only to find his accuracy so bad that he entirely missed the man.
'What in the hell is happening?' Ning thought. He tried to move backward, but his leg stumbled on something and he fell backward.
He fell on his back, never understanding what was happening. The leader slowly made his way toward him, seemingly unbothered.
Ning tried to prop himself up, only to find that he could not properly move his arms around. It took him a moment to realize that other than sound, he had lost another sense.
Proprioception. The sense that let him perceive the location and movement of his own body parts. It was no wonder he couldn't move around properly or aim properly.
His mind failed to recognize where any of his body parts were.
'First sound, and now this,' Ning thought. He wondered what was the cause of him losing two senses. Was it based on how long the man used his powers on him, or was it the distance between the two? If he got too close, would he lose another sense?
The man said something, but of course, Ning couldn't hear him at all. He raised his sword next and slammed down.
Ning let go of the spear and crossed his arm before him as best he could while his body turned into iron at the same time. The sword landed on his body and he could feel the force that was being driven through that sword.
Even though his body had turned into iron, he could feel the force behind the attack and could even feel some pain. A part of his forearm skin had been chipped away, making him feel incredible pain.
The man moved back, a look of shock in his eyes. He said something that Ning could obviously not hear. His shock lasted only for a short moment before he came back to attack him.
Ning let his body remain fully iron, but before the sword could hit him, someone appeared right before him.
Shara had appeared out of nowhere and stood in the way of him and the sword. Ning panicked for a second, thinking Shara was going to get hurt, but the sword passed right through her, and then through him.
The man found himself overextending, at which point, Shara moved forward and grabbed his head in her hand.
Immediately, the sound returned for Ning and he could sense where his body parts were once again. Shara quickly moved back and pulled Ning away.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
Ning felt his forearm burning but he was more or less alright. "I'm fine," he said. "Did you take away his powers?"
"Yes," she said. She picked up the spear that Ning dropped and got ready to fight with it.
"I will fight him. Go help the soldiers," she said.

Ning quickly got up, frowning. He was about to refuse, but he saw the determination on his face. "Use your powers at all times," he said.
"Okay," Shara said.
Ning moved away, going to help the soldiers. There were only 16 or so of them, fighting against over 20 others.
There were people down on both sides, though none seemed to be winning at all.
Matthew was handling 3 soldiers all by himself, his sword skills too good for any less than 3 to handle him. There were others that were also more or less doing well.
Ning appeared to the side of the three, kicking one of the soldiers on the side of his armor. The soldier buckled downward, slamming onto the ground.
Ning got close, turning his leg into iron before smashing down on the man's wrist.
The soldier's wrist was destroyed in a single attack, forcing him to let go of the sword. Ning quickly picked up the sword and parried the other soldier who was attacking him at that exact moment.
Ning struck the sword away and slammed it on the side of his chest. At the same time, Matthew stabbed the sword right through the gap in the man's neck, killing him instantly.
The other soldier tried to attack him with the opening, but Ning moved in between, swinging down at the man, and smashing his armor alongside his clavicle at the same time.
Matthew pulled out his sword a moment later and slammed it onto the man's head at the same time.
Ning turned his leg back into iron and kicked the man with the destroyed wrist on his head, and Matthew dealt the final blow.
